Hotel Riu Arecas - Adults Only Reviews

We loved the attention, the room, the very friendly dining room service, reception, cleaning, towel service... To put a but, the minibar was not cold and in the offer I did not see the information that drinks at dinner are not included in the offer. Great pools, special mention to the Infinity pool even though we didn't know it was in another part of the complex, with a few stairs in between. The tranquility of the place is great to unwind. I would repeat for sure.

We can thoroughly recommend the Riu Arecas Hotel in Costa Adeje Tenerife. We wanted somewhere special to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and we can truly say every aspect of our holiday in this beautiful hotel was fantastic. The facilities, food, location, our room and particularly the Riu Arecas Team were exemplary. We will certainly visit again in the future. Very difficult to single out any of the Arecas Team, but we must say that Roberto deserves a special mention. Thanks everyone at the Riu Arecas, you were all wonderful

Positive Clean hotel with nice/hardworking staff. Enjoyed the beach club area, albeit stairs will impede anyone with walking issues. Very pleasant area . Negative We found the food bland. We actually had been warned that the dining buffet for some reason was not the usual Riu quality. Perhaps it caters more for the specific clientele profile. Top pool area isn't good and often busy - people do not want to walk to beach club area. I would recommend but probably not return personally as better Riu's.

We are here at the moment. Only hotel I've ever been in that tells you that you can't put a brolly up at certain parts of the pool area. I had gone to the Supermarket over the road and my partner was told to take down the brolly and was left humiliated and tearful. She has fair skin and not surprisingly didn't want to lie out in the full midday sun. We've also just been told off for jumping in the pool. Very bizarre, but made us laugh! And we're in our 50's. Although it's an 'Adults Only' hotel they seem to treat you like a child, keeping a quiet slightly boring atmosphere. The hotel is spotless though and the staff are very pleasant, friendly and attentive. Nice rooms, View amazing and the food is very good. Evening entertainment is usually finished by 10.30pm and as you're in a quieter area of the resort, it ends in a very early night. Some music around the pool area would be nice addition and create a nice ambience. There's no menu available for lunches and it's very strange that they don't have a shop. I'll certainly being using Riu hotels again but not this particular one in Tenerife.

We had ten days from 26th November and had a very good time once again,hotel,room,staff,service were excellent.Roberto, Vera and Joel deserve a mention.

Enjoyed our stay in November. Was particularly pleased that on request our first allocated room was able to be changed. We had to wait till another became available but was happy to do so.

Enjoyable stay at this excellent hotel nothing I can fault at this hotel its the second time we have stayed this year and are booked for another week in May next year. Many thanks to all the staff who in a quiet way are always there when you need them cant wait to come back

Stayed here to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary for which we were given a bottle if prosecco on both occasions. Our room was at the rear of the hotel and we could just about see the sea. It was a good size and kept very clean. The food was really good. Always lots to choose from and very tasty. Sometimes the tables weren't set ready but didn't wait long before a waiter would appear and give us cutlery etc. We had stayed here once before so we were aware of the 77 steps down to the promenade. This was a little difficult for me as I have recently had knee replacement surgery but I went slowly and managed it. The entertainment at night we found to be poor so most nights just sat in the lobby and played cards. We did do the trip to the other Riu hotel for the White Night party which we enjoyed despite being in an older age group! All the staff were very helpful and I tried my limited Spanish out and think this was well received. It is a lovely walk along to central Costa Adeje and we will return again

I have just returned from a fabulous week at this hotel . This return visit was with my son after the loss of my husband a few months ago. We had a lovely room with a sea view and it was as always immaculately clean. The food was of a good standard with plenty of choice. We ate on the terrace every evening occasionally having to wait a few minutes for a table. Our room was cleaned every day to a high standard and always in the mornings. I came home feeling refreshed and relaxed. The weather was warmer than normal November temperatures which was a bonus. I would recommend this hotel for a peaceful break or for guests who like to walk .

Excellent hotel great stay well presented excellent staff very helpful could do with more veriety of bottled beers very quiet and relaxing

We last visited this hotel just before Covid and had a great time then so decided to go back for a winter break. We were hoping it would be just as good but in fact found it to better than ever. We were half board and found across all meal times there was great choice and the standard of the food was excellent. The pool area was peaceful and sun beds were plentiful so no problem there. All the public areas were spotless and well maintained. The entertainment each night was great with different acts each performing songs that got the audience up dancing. The drinks prices were very reasonable and I think this contributed to most people not venturing out of the hotel of an evening which created a better atmosphere on a night. Finally a big shout out to the staff who were always friendly and courteous and helped make the holiday so enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back.

The hotel caters for adults only, which we preferred (other family hotels very near by) I can't praise the hotel and staff any higher, they were friendly and helpful, the food has plenty of selection and it's self serve so if something is not to your taste you can go and choose something else, the rooms are a fair size and we had a balcony overlooking the sea. there are 3 swimming pools, two large ones with a coffee/drinks bar available and easy access for disabled. There is another pool in a gated area down by the beach, with a coffee/bar and toilets, not so easily accessible to disabled down a lot of steps, but accessible out of the front of the hotel and a walkway down to the beach, this area was very nice as made to feel like a beach with a sanded area and loungers. the sea front has a long walk in both directions where there are shops and bars, the area is fairly quiet, so possibly not suited to those wanting a party atmosphere, you can however catch a local bus just outside the hotel to other towns for a small fare. The hotel provides entertainment each evening. we went in mid November and the weather pleasantly hot with a breeze, we did have one afternoon and evening of a thunder storm

The staff at this hotel were so good nothing was to much trouble they made our stay and we would definitely go back,

This is my fourth visit to Tenerife this year,The Reception was very helpful when checking in, Rooms very basic, one day l had to clean up behind the door where the maid had swept lt to the door and left it, on two occasions come back at 5 o’clock and the door to our room was left open, breakfast was abysmal egg & beans ok, bacon was to hard to eat, Evening meal what a can l say, there’s not enough staff, go to a table waiting 25 minutes for a waiter to come and put your cutlery and glasses, this was most nights, a waiter smashed glass, 20 minutes still there, the bar staff work hard, but the shows, in several nights you will see the same entertainment twice in the week, don’t think l will be returning.
