Cozumel Hotel & Resort, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

At the time of making the reservation we had the information that we would stay in a room with a king size bed, however, at the time of arrival the room they gave us was one with two beds, when we made a comment to the receptionist, she told us that the reservation information was only a request and that he could not change our room because one like the one required was not available and that the rooms with those characteristics at the moment would have an extra cost. The waiters are very friendly, as well as the bartender and the facilities are very nice, the entrance to the sea is a surprise and the pools with sea water that the hotel has are exquisite.
El Cozumeleño Beach Resort - All Inclusive

PROS: This is the best beach and ocean location and the main reason we chose this resort. Employees work hard - some are very friendly and helpful, others keep more to themselves but are happy to help if asked. The ocean water is divine - crystal clear and abundant with life and an ecosystem that you can explore for hours! The hotel grounds are well kept, the pools are lovely, there is fresh cold drinking water available at many sites on the resort. The lobby is comfortable. CONS: Food - there is so much waste because of taste and quality especially in the only a la carte restaurant. They try too hard to impress with appearance, while the flavor and quality is awful. We tried so hard to like it. They Serve a spaghetti with a liquid tomato juice they call a sauce, and serve it to hotel guests! Stick to what you know - Mexican food made well, made with local ingredients using traditional recipes! Why try to serve a pasta carbonara when they clearly don't have a clue what that even is - and every dish that uses cream - and there are many, has this artificial sickening flavor about it, what a shame! If they could just tweak and understand that guests deserve to eat decent food, everything else would be great. ROOMS: dated but clean. They have many rooms with very old and dirty fold-up couches. Replace the couches that belong in the garbage, not in guest's rooms, it isn't a big deal, but will show respect to your guests. AIR CONDITIONING: very controlled and never gets cold. Hotel can lower the temperature by at least two degrees and provide much comfort. BUFFET: Repetitive and low-quality food. If you make it repetitive, at least stick with quality and local specialties so that the guests can enjoy some authentic Mexicans cuisine. BIRDS: This is a problem. Allowing vultures to enter your buffet restaurants to eat and defecate where they want is not acceptable! At night, so many mosquitos - we could not eat there. Find a way to enclose the buffet resto. add air conditioning, eliminate the BIRDS and MOSQUITOS and your guests will be in heaven. END note: this hotel capitalizes on their location which is ideal, but they could so easily tweak a few details and improve guest experience by 100%.
Baldwin's Guest House Cozumel

We stayed here 4 nights as part of a much longer birding trip around Mexico and Belize. The B&B is set in grounds with some nice trees and shrubs, a pleasant swimming pool and an outdoor bar / kitchen area which guests can use. But there was lots of dog poo around the garden and it was rarely picked up. The kitchen wasn't very clean. The location is good, c15 min's walk to the town and with a few restaurants, shops and bars nearer. The rooms are nicely finished in wood, with colourful ceramics, air con, a fan and a clean bathroom and bedding; but there was a lot of dust elsewhere. The shower ran cold after a short time and the flow wasn't very strong. We had booked well in advance, but a few days before we were due to arrive, the host contacted us and said she had made a mistake and we needed to change rooms part way through our stay. We agreed to do this but when we were there, we were given no warning, and came back to our room to find belongs moved to a new room. It wasn't until later that we were given details of the new room and then we found lots of our belongings hadn't been transferred and we had to go and retrieve them. Then after settling in, we couldn't lock the door and had to call the host who seemed somewhat inpatient to respond and assured us that there was a knack to locking it. She showed us, and I simply pushed the door gently and it opened. She tried again, and the same thing happened. She asked one of the long term guests to fix it and he tried but couldn't and then she offered us a different (better) room, which we accepted. Two days later the maintenance man was still trying to fix it. The place is full of dogs and they're not very well controlled. One in particular , persistently jumped up at us when we arrived and the host seemed unable to stop it (it calmed down a bit later). Another jumped on our bed and the host made no attempt to stop it. Breakfast is served for everyone at 08.30 (no flexibility) and everyone is encouraged to sit around the table and have a chat. It was a minimalist affair, eg a tiny portion of (egg) tortilla or a fried egg (with nothing else) and a small bowl of chopped fruit and yoghurt. Not a slice of toast in sight! Wifi was poor. There was too many negatives here to score it above average.
Casa del Mar Cozumel Hotel & Dive Resort

Good staff, they have a snorkel and diving area part of the hotel. The food is 5 starts ! We took the all inclusive deal for 42 dollars. Worth it! The only thing was the jacuzzi, kids were not allowed but there were some small kids swimming there so it wasn’t relaxing enough, they were also eating there ! Apart from that everything was excellent.

Had a great time at this hotel Location is a five minute walk from ferry pier. View is amazing from our ocean view room upgrade well worth the money for sure watching the cruise ships dock right in front of us was really cool. Free breakfast buffet was excellent in mornings. Nice chairs around small splash pool were nice also little bar there at pool area. Spent the day there one day watching all the action in the ocean in front of us. All the employees were very nice and helpful. The price was good for the location of this hotel. We really like all the elevators in building . Also has a 7-11 store located under hotel open 24/7 so handy. Would highly recommend this small hotel looking forward to staying there next time
El Cid la Ceiba Beach

My first time in Cozumel so I wasn't sure what to expect. The water is beautiful. Our room was ok. Our only issue was we had to ask for toilet paper all the time. They never left any when they did the room. I think Angie did our room though and did a great job. When the boats came in, they kind of overtook the pool and beach area. And with that I feel like the staff walking around asking about drinks, ignored us more. The food was just ok. I ate a lot of bacon. My favorite thing there was Roger. The activities guy. He was the best. So helpful and so very nice. He joined us for games. Always came up to see if we were ok and greeted us with a hug. We all could've taken him home. Arie was great also but I can't say enough good things about Roger. Just loved him.
