The Richard Onslow

Stayed one night in this well located large pub with rooms conveniently located on Cranleigh high street. The staff are young, enthusiastic and helpful which made our stay memorable. The food is served in a very large light room with huge sash windows looking out on to the high street There's plenty of space between the tables. Food is freshly cooked and well presented your having chosen it from an extensive menu and wine list. Breakfast is outstanding and the best we have had for many a year. The full English is a very large plate of top quality sausages, eggs etc. plus fruit juices and freshly made ground coffee.You won't need lunch after this meal as it sets you up for the day. The only negative I would point out is the lack of reading lights in the bedroom which is the commonest fault when staying anywhere in the UK. The lighting was decorative rather than functional. One bedroom lamp didn't work and likewise in the bathroom lighting was very poor. The bedroom was well furnished and despite being on the street side of the building was relatively quiet I would recommend The Richard Onslow to friends and would be happy to stay there again.

I love staying at the Richard Onslow. This was the second time I have been. The staff are always so friendly and the rooms are so clean and comfortable and the food is tasty and hot. Although it’s a pub there was no noise at all. It was perfect for my stay.

Good menu choice and table service. Seems to be a popular local pub / hotel with one or two good draft beers, as well as reasonably good dining venue in the centre of town.

Friendly staff, really large modern comfy warm room, excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast. And it is a great, busy pub with a good selection of (proper) beers. Even the problem with a slow draining shower tray in the morning (reported and being dealt with) didn't dampen a really relaxing overnight stay. Will return next time we are anywhere in the area.

Nice pub and hotel. The food was good and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom shower was very small and enclosed. The staff were friendly and the location had a lot of shopping around it

Everything you would hope for in a B&B. Friendly staff, clean and spacious room with ensuite bathroom, safe parking on site, and the most delicious breakfast - perfectly cooked, top quality ingredients and served with a smile. We would not hesitate to stay again.

I have been staying for 7 nights in this pleasant old country pub/hotel. I stayed in room 1, which is very cosy and features exposed beams and a large bathroom with a freestanding tub. Overall the whole property has been renovated very tastefully, still preserving the Charme of a building dating back to the 17th century. The breakfast was every day very good, there was enough choice to have a different one every day. Staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and professional. Easy on site parking. We received a warm welcome. The room was modern, clean and spacious. There was a large shower in the en-suite with plenty of hot water. The staff were polite, helpful and friendly. The full English breakfast was really good. Central location
