🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My recent stay at Ibis London Gatwick was an absolute delight, thanks to the exceptional customer service provided by Vanessa, the outstanding receptionist at the hotel. From the moment I arrived at the hotel, Vanessa's warm and welcoming demeanor made me feel like a valued guest. She greeted me with a genuine smile, took the time to answer all of my questions, and provided me with helpful information about the hotel and its amenities. Her professionalism, empathy and attention to detail during the check-in process were truly impressive considering I did not have a prior booking and was a walk in guest. Throughout my stay, Vanessa continued to exceed my expectations with her exceptional customer service. Whether it was assisting with travel arrangements, providing directions to local amenities, or simply offering a friendly greeting whenever I passed by the front desk, Vanessa's commitment to ensuring that I had a memorable and comfortable stay was evident in every interaction. I must also commend Gihan, a remarkable member of the restaurant team, for his exceptional service as well. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a top-notch hospitality experience. Hotel clean and tidy. Very good location. Bed was big and confy. The room has a big bathroom very well equipped with towels, shampoo and shower gel. The room has also a fridge with cold drinks. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to go to the Terminal and it is close to the bus stop. NIn every floor there are vending L L lmachinesdeerx for snacks and cold drinks. Also you can get tea and coffee.

After reading the reviews I was slightly concerned, but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. My room was rm 35 - comfy 4 poster bed. The bathroom was a retro orange, the water was hot. Tea/coffee/milk/biscuits, clean towels + toiletries provided. Rm 36 smelled of smoke + TV wasn't working so I had the better room but co-traveller said other than that it was fine, bed comfy and it was quiet. Some lights in the corridor didn't work - just used torch on phone. Fire escape was not locked but would prefer that than getting locked in a burning building. Other accommodation near was more than double the price per night (we paid £150 for 2 x ensuite doubles) - so content to enjoy, not perfection but the chance to stay in a querky listed building. Just check in early as online can double book rooms!

I specifically booked a night at the Sofitel Gatwick because it included 'Meet and Greet' parking with Maple Parking. Had they not included this I would have still stayed but made other arrangments for my car. I arrived at the Maple Parking Meet and Greet and parked the car. Took my keys over to the attendant and signed in. I then asked if they could give me 20 minutes to check in to the hotel, change clothes and bring a bag back to the car. We didnt want to bring a bag of unclean clothes on holiday with us. Here's where things went downhill faster than Gwynth Paltrow on ski's. The attendant, a tall bloke with a mid-european accent shouted at me 'No, do you know you are at an airport'. He actually shouted this. Shouted. To a customer. Take a minute to breathe that in. Fortunatly I knew I was at an airport, having driven 4 hours to get there. To hear that I was at an airport was no surprise, to be shouted at by a car park attendant was. I explained that I didnt want to take a case of unclean clothes on holiday with me. His response to that was 'we are extremly busy and your car will be removed immediately'. I asked if the hotel would hold the bag and he replied 'No they will not hold your stupid bag'. Here's where I should have murdered him with his Maple Meet and Greet Staff lanyard, but I did not. I asked for my keys back to be told once again in an truely agresive manner 'if you take your keys I will close the entry and you can't come back'. I took the keys and left. I then had to park at Gatawick Long stay for an additional £150. We finally checked into the hotel, explained the situation. The checkin lady (Alessia?) apologised and gave us two tokens for a free drink at the bar. They also kept our bag for us. Is this the fault of Sofitel Gatwick? I think it is. They decided to partner with a company that treats people appalingly. So they've got to accept responsibility for that. Please share this review, If I saw something like this I would have chose another car park or another hotel. Other people should be warned.

This is a hidden gem for business guests. I have stayed in this hotel a few times over the last 3 years and found the product very suitable to my needs. Great value for money and the team is very attentive. Although it’s only 7-8 mins drive from Gatwick you don’t feel you are near an airport. Totally deserves a 5* review.. will return soon.

We have been staying at the Hotel for a few weeks now. After long hours at work, we just wanted to stay somewhere where we can disconnect with work, relax and connect with other people. Nevertheless, I would like to share with everyone that Bar attendant (James) would always go that extra mile to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. Is not just about serving you a drink and taking orders. Excellent customer service by always interacting with customers, offering advice, friendly, accommodative making our staying very pleasant. Attended here 24/9 for a family wedding. After some initial planning issues due to multiple staff changes the wedding event ran very smoothly. The planner, Charlotte and the M/C, Chris were excellent and could not have done more to keep the whole event on track. The wedding took place in the Tithe Barn which transformed from official venue to dining room to dance floor seamlessly. The transition was helped by the perfect weather which meant guests could linger in the spacious gardens whilst the staff did their thing. Food was well prepared and even the minor issue of incorrect dishes to specific individuals was quickly rectified. Waiting staff were very extremely pleasant and affable whilst also being efficient. Buffet style breakfast the following morning with a good selection of hot or cold foods to select from. Lower levels of this building have benefitted from being totally refurbished following some severe flooding and this gives the hotel a really sleek and modern initial appearance. However, once you climb the stairs to the bedrooms all that changes. Whilst there was nothing specific that meant I had to complain the upper levels are really tired. The décor is dated and although clean could really do with updating. The windows are single glazed, timber framed so must ship heat to the outside world by the bucket load. The hot water in the sink took an eternity to heat and even then was only mildly warm. We, and other guests in our party, had multiple failures of the room key cards which meant having to trek all the way back down to reception to get the issue sorted. Yes, these are very first world issues but this is not a cheap hotel, it's run by a major international group and should be better. My advice, by all means book for a meeting, party, wedding or similar function but don't book over night rooms. It really was like visiting two separate venues on the one site.

Booked via Holiday Extras for this hotel as we needed a place close to the airport to park our car and stay overnight for our earlier morning flight to Spain. Welcome on arrival first class. Everything was explained clearly and with a smile. Our request for an early morning call noted and carried out on time. Bit of a rush leaving as we tried to catch the shuttle but again staff dealt very quickly with everything and enabled us to catch the shuttle. On arrival back at the hotel after our holiday, again staff on reception very very efficient polite and informative. Room was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. I loved my experience at the Bloc. It was so easy to find and very welcoming after a long train journey. The staff were very helpful with my questions about simple things. I liked the complementary drinks in the serving room, the lovely thick towels and welcome message for me, and also that the room was dark and quiet, which I needed for a long journey ahead of me. I liked the discounts in surrounding shops. Perfect.
