The BEST hostel in Ecuador! The staff makes this place fabulous and enjoyable! We recommend this hostel over any others in Cuenca! It is ALL because of the AMAZING staff they have working here! Without them, well it just wouldn't be special! Robert and Rebecca Folk

Excellent price/service ratio. Good experience, friendly and attentive staff 24 hours a day, very quiet and welcoming atmosphere. Very easy to get to. Good location, from the hotel you can walk to sightsee... I would definitely stay there again. Something to improve: better cleaning of the shower.

I made a reservation here and everything was confirmed. When I arrived, they claimed that they had no more rooms left. The woman I spoke to was extremely rude and unfriendly, and the only "compensation" they offered was to try to send me to another hotel they owned that was twice the price. Don't risk booking here--you will be left scrambling to find another place to stay last minute!

My experience at Hotel Casas de las Rosas was not the best, I had several problems during my stay, starting with the Check-in process. When I arrived with my family to enjoy the Cuenca festivities, they treated us in an unpleasant way and the rooms we had reserved were not given to us (because of the overbooking of rooms due to the holiday), in exchange, they gave us a room for 5 people, which, despite being spacious, had the following defects: - Firstly, the discomfort of being in a room all together limited the personal space we were looking for. - There was a great carelessness in the cleanliness of the room (the sheets had traces of dust and the shower in the bathroom slightly heated the water). - In addition, a damp smell was constantly filtered from the withered flowers of the garden that was next to our room. On the other hand, at breakfast time, there was not enough space to eat comfortably, the tables were too small for families of more than 4 people, which made at least 2 people uncomfortable at breakfast time. This is why I consider improving customer service and reinforcing their cleaning methods for rooms with low turnover.
