The breakfast was average, the room was big but a bit unclean, and the location of the hotel was pretty good. You can enjoy the view of Davao 360 from the top floor, which is generally okay.

We arrived late in the evening yet they still accomodated us well. There was a slight miscommunication between my booking through trip.com and their system but was resolved after i showed them my booking details. They forgot to return my id upon checkout since my wifey was the one who checked us out, good thing they called us to inform us. Overall, it was a nice stay.

This is not your glitzy newfangled place. This what a hotel was supposed to be. Really good , immaculately clean room. I wonderful shower. All needed amenities (lest an in-room safe). There is a a rooftop dining room where breakfast is also served. I gather you need to book a dinner reservation long in advance as it was ful the day we got there even tough the hotel didn't seem very full. In fact it sort of seemed close to empty. The breakfast was perfect, so long as you enjoy Filipino food. This was not food for non-Asian tourists. The two meat offerings were tapis and cut-up hot dogs, The vegetables were cooked (maybe sauteed?) young eggplant, and steamed opo and carrots. There was really good rice but no potatoes. And there was well made scrambled eggs. The coffee was your basic coffee from a large commercial urn. No fancy capaccino machine here. and the only juice was calamansi. I really enjoyed breakfast, but some non-Asian foreigners, might find it wanting. The staff were attentive. There was good parking, But it appears to be needing more guests. Maybe that's why the value for the stay was so good.

We celebrated my mom’s 87th birthday in June on the hotel’s function room. We have booked for 30pax (family & friends) The place can accommodate more so it was good for us. The front desk was very helpful. The sound system is good. Everything was just fine. A single waiter was manning the food counter as it was a buffet. We brought in a lechon and cake. (The corkage is minimal therefore acceptable) All the guest like the place. Everybody is happy. In the first week of August my wife decided to celebrate my 60th birthday here too. A milestone. We have booked for 60pax. The actual attendance was less than that but still sit comfortably. We brought in a 3man band. As usual we added lechon, cake and this time beer. We have 2waiters manning the table. As the party was coming to an end, the excess food was packed to be brought home by some of the attendees. And the party came to an end. Once we reached home and we started talking about the event, a success in our opinion, my wife realized that a dish (dinuguan) which was supposed to be included with the lechon was not seen in the table and not served. The next day my wife started calling some of the attendees and asking if they have eaten dinuguan, none did. Next she called the lechon vendor to ensure that it was included in the delivery, they’ve sent a photo to confirm. Only then, at about 9:00AM she sent a message to the hotel asking about it. Somebody from the hotel replied saying they will ask the waiters on duty. At 2:28PM she followed up on the query. Only around 4:49PM somebody replied from the hotel in a messenger that apparently the assigned F&B forget to served the said dish. That’s it (?) Then at 10:26PM my wife sent a message again asking where the dinuguan is now as the reply was minimal, no explanation. The reply was - it was put away (?) by housekeeping in the morning. On the 10th August we went to the hotel and asked to speak with the Hotel Manager. She was not around so we said can you asked her to give us a call when she comes around. Our reason for asking to meet is to get a proper response and moving forward for them to ensure it will not happen again. No call or message from somebody in authority, instead the waiter from my mom’s party called and said that the waiter on duty took it home! Meaning, even after they discover that it was forgotten to be served, they don’t have plans to inform us of the hiccups. Was it on purpose? To date, no follow up from the hotel management.

I booked Hotel Marco via the hotel’s FB Page. Booked the Premiere room as the agent I spoke with specifically said that the Premiere room is more spacious than the deluxe but sad to say it doesn’t feel like it or did they not gave us a premiere room? Reservation was fast they did not require us to pay for a downpayment. Our flight got delayed from early in the morning to late in the afternoon so we arrived Davao City at around 6:00 PM. They did not even gave us any follow up if we are going to continue with our reservation. We rented a car which picked us up at the airport we immediately went to the hotel to check in (30mins drive to airport) when we got to the hotel it took a little while to check in as they were not sure about our reservation there were many questions asked first how we did our reservation and it was hot at the lobby as the AC were turned off. After check in we got into our room, on the way to our room some lights in hallway were turned off too that’s why it was quite dark. Inside the room there were 2 big beds it was spacious and comfortable. AC were cold and WIFI was ok plus the smart TV is also a plus! What we didn’t like was they did not provide any toiletries kit (eg. toothbrush, toothpaste, etc..) we asked for it they said they will be sending it in our room but they didn’t all through out our 3 days stay. We also asked for extra pillows as there were only 2 pillows per bed but they don’t have an extra. We also asked for an extra key card as we were group of 2 (4 adults 1 child) but they cannot provide an extra key card too which was inconvenient as if someone needs to go out no extra keycard is provided and still needs to knock on the door. Location wise it was not in the city center but since we rented a self drive car we didn’t have any issues going into places such as tourist spots. Good thing that the hotel has s basement parking. There are restaurants, spas, and convenience store 1 block away from the hotel. They only serve plated breakfast which you will be called during the evening to choose your preferred breakfast. Choices were limited but it was good. We only had issues with the drinks during our breakfast because my husband asked if coffee was free the server said Yes so my husband got himself one when he served the juice in our table he did not gave one to my husband because he said he got himself a coffee my husband got aggravated as he did not specifically says that he can only choose one beverage. Since it was his fault he still gave a juice but did not say sorry. The hotel is still new and they still have a lot of things to improve on. The hotel is affordable.
