It took half an hour to check in, although the attitude is very good It is equivalent to the domestic Hanting, with complete equipment but very old The bathtub is a plus, but the shower is not removable The heating is very warm, but the timer cannot be set The mattress is high and has support The Internet speed is very slow, too slow, the corridors and rooms have a musty smell The breakfast at 9.5 pounds is relatively average, but the service attitude is quite good, and you can pack a breakfast It is also a plus to have a kettle and coffee and tea bags

The usual welcome at the hotel but it would have been helpful to be told by email before I arrived that the new restaurant in the hotel itself isn't yet open, "due to snagging issues". Instead I was directed to the ex-Beefeater next door, which has been closed to the public. The 3 other people dining at the same time as me looked as miserable as I felt in this huge, empty, very tired, cold space. The staff did their best with the limited menu (no wine-list available) but it wasn't an enjoyable experience. Breakfast was much the same. Like other guests I had problems with WiFi which Catherine did her best to help me with, but I'd think twice about staying here again.

I wanted to say a special thank you to Catherine, who was extremely kind and helpful to myself and a colleague, when the company we work for, messed up our booking. She sorted everything efficiently and put us at ease. We'd had a long and stressful day and this made all the difference! Thanks again!

Ami on reception was very welcoming and informative made check in so easy after my long drive. Sean was on breakfast and dinner duty and the Service he was great, he made me feel welcomed and was attentive as being away from home made the trip better

A very basic hotel that, in my opinion, does not live up to the television advertising hype. Hand gel at side of sink was blocked as was container over bath so fairly useless. Very poor reception for Wi-fi that kept breaking down. Room could do with refreshing. No air-con and tiny window opening not really condusive to time of year I visited

Excellent friendly staff couldn’t do enough to help. Food good. Beds comfy Only downside were people cooking food in their rooms made the corridor smell. Extractor fan in bathroom wasn’t working but mentioned both issues on check out and staff were already sorting it out before I left the building

Just arrived home from a 2 night stay with my mam and 3 year old son. Used hotel as a base to visit cbeebies land for my son's birthday. Room was clean and in good condition. We were somewhat worried following a negative experience staying at a premier inn in Chester, after years of really positive experiences in premier inns. However, the staff here have more than redeemed our faith in this chain. Food was lovely, staff couldn't do enough for us. Catherine was lovely, very polite and helpful, and chatty. Took clean towels to our room following this being over looked (the staff member we asked was somewhat flustered however I am aware he was new). Hannah was lovely, and efficient at service at tea time. And an extra thank you to Shaun, who my son warmed to immediately. He made him laugh so much, and really made a fuss of him. He also ensured we got our wine (swooped in from outside the building like the Batman of dinner service!🤣 Having heard us order our wine and one of the new waiting staff walk away looking somewhat perplexed, he overheard and immediately asked which wine we wanted and brought it straight to our table. He is a real credit to this hotel and really deserves his recent promotion to deputy manager. We will definitely stay here again in the future should we need a hotel in the local area. Thanks again for a lush couple of days.

We were greatly disappointed to find on arrival that there was no Beefeater restaurant, Derby west had advised the building had been sold and they were in the process of moving a restaurant into the premier inn. The food choices were very limited and the quality was extremely poor. The staff however did the best with what they had and were polite.
