Hua BiSi Guest House
4.8/5109 Reviews
Stayed for 3 days. Advantages: 1. There is a mosquito net that can be used to cover the bed, so mosquitoes cannot get in at all. 2. The breakfast looks average, but tastes good. The Bangladeshi chef mixes cucumber slices with sour and sweet flavors. If you want an omelette, he will make it. There are two or three kinds of porridge, soy milk, and pasta. I eat very full every day. Due to personal reasons, the time was not right for lunch and dinner and I have not eaten it, so I cannot comment. 3. Free airport pick-up and friendly attitude. 4. I used the mobile phone card left by a previous customer for free for 3 days. I worked hard to solve my daily needs. Disadvantages: 1. The rooms are relatively old and are generally not chosen in China. For example, there is no water cup. I didn’t find a hotel because of this, because I can deal with it by using a mineral water bottle when brushing my teeth. I forgot about this trivial matter when we met. 2. The exchange rate at the airport is 16 taka for 1 RMB, and 15 taka here. Later, it was also 16 taka to change with a local tour guide. 3. The name is unlucky. It is recommended to change the name. By the way, let me advertise, I have breakfast at 9 o'clock, so I will have lunch at 15 o'clock. Although our restaurant is free, but the time is wrong, I always go to the Panda Dumpling House about 1.8 kilometers southwest of our store to solve the problem. This Panda is owned by a lady from Shenyang. It’s delicious and cheap. It’s almost become my canteen. The sizzling beef and dry tofu are just like eating in Shenyang. I personally have 2 dishes, 1 meal, 1 Coke and ice cream, usually 1,200 taels. Card left and right. In comparison, Mapo Tofu at nearby Dunhuang Restaurant costs 800 taka.
Hotel Ornate

Services by the staffs was great which made my stay comfortable and special thanks to Mr. Hossain The hotel is relatively close to Old Dhaka and is conveniently located. food was great. Overall a pretty decent choice if you don't have unrealistic expectations for this price-range in Dhaka.
La Vinci Hotel

The hotel traffic is fairly convenient. In the old Dhaka area, the surrounding environment is not good. The surroundings are like slums, very noisy and difficult to sleep. Not in the very prosperous Sundaka. Hygiene, service has nothing to say, very good. But if you call, don’t let the hotel call you a car. If you find a car from a Chinese boss, you can use a car of 3,000 taka a day, and a hotel car will cost you 7,000 taka a day, which is more than doubled.
Hotel Progati Inn Ltd.

I recently completed a two-week visit to Bangladesh and stayed at three different hotels. I will not only review them in detail but give an overview of my experience of budget hotels in Bangladesh as a tourist. Most of my thoughts, comments, and opinions on all three of these properties are the same so there will be some copying and pasting in these reviews. Tourists wishing to arrive in Bangladesh and receive a visa on arrival (VOA) are advised to have hotel bookings and Proof of Onward Travel (POOT). I made both hard and digital copies of all my bookings and they were checked at both the airline check-in counter and immigration in Dhaka. However, no one was interested in more than a few days of hotel bookings and I only presented hotel reservations for the first four nights. This is important for those of us who are plan-as-you-go travelers and don’t like to make bookings ahead of time. In the future, I will only book the first few nights and see how that goes. I ended up canceling several reservations (bookings) I made through Agoda because I changed my plans, and now, I have no doubt you can get a better price by simply walking in. On with the review of the hotel Pragati Inn: This hotel is close to the airport and was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, my room was extremely noisy because of the local road traffic. It is also a bit too far from Old Dhaka if you intend on exploring the most interesting parts of the city. This is a typical Asian-style budget hotel: a bit dated and could use some maintenance and a coat of paint. Having said that, the room and bathroom were surprisingly clean, and the air-conditioning and hot water were excellent. A complimentary breakfast was included in the price, but I did not try it. The wi-fi was so-so, in all three hotels I stayed at. I thought that the price I paid through Agoda ($45.75 USD) was a bit high for what I got. The owner of the hotel confirmed that if I were to book directly with the hotel, I could get a room for roughly half the price. I would only return here if I needed to be close to the airport.
Shinepukur Suites
4.4/55 Reviews
I stayed at the Shinepukur Suites this year and it was a very comfortable one. Mr Monir took care of all my needs, from reservations to F&B requirements. The hotel room is very homely and had the personal touch. The food at the hotel was very nice and I was pleased with the overall service. My room was very specious and the balcony had a wonderful view (facing Police Plaza). I will be back again this April, thank you all specially Mr. Monir! A+++

Room hygiene is OK, the bathroom is relatively small, some facilities are available, the hotel has restaurants, haircuts and other services, but the haircut style is different from the domestic, the street downstairs is crowded and busy, noisy, providing 🈶 laundry service
