Castle House Guest House

I stayed in a single guest room for 2 nights prior to a cruise. The inn is cozy and charming and the owners are so lovely! The single room is small (as expected) but comfortable with adequate storage, private, and quiet - I slept like a baby. The location is perfect with the Dover Castle a short (but steep) walk away, and town center and beach/marina no more than a 10-minute walk away. The WiFi is great, and the room has everything you need. The breakfast is homemade, cooked to order, and delicious! Sharon and her husband are wonderful hosts!

When traveling it is often easy to pass over local establishments for the larger chain hotels. While you may feel comfort in expected amenities, you miss however the charm, comfort and historical value of local accommodations. Such is the case with the Castle Hill Guest House in Dover. The room was comfortable, our hostess warm and accommodating, the location central and the morning offering a true English breakfast. We definitely recommend a stay at the Castle Hill Guest House when in Dover.

What a delight! It was charming. All needs were anticipated. The host was extremely helpful and accommodating and made sure all was good. The location was great and the breakfast cooked to order and delicious.

A lovely place to stay, an easy walk from the train station and up to the castle. Also good spot to start walk on the Vera Lynn trail up onto the White Cliffs. And they had no trouble with us storing our luggage until after we had visited the castle and were ready leave Dover.

After receiving a call from This guest house, I wasn't able to hear anything so I called back. After the first rude person hung up on me, I called back again, for the second person denied calling me and refused to discuss the original person hanging up on me.

We enjoyed an excellent overnight stay at The Castle House Guesthouse prior to early ferry crossing the following morning. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we were unable to enjoy what we're sure would have been (based on other reviews) a splendid breakfast. Despite this, we were kindly provided with a more than adequate pack-up breakfast which was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated. We were booked into the family room which was clean and spacious but with a cosy feel. Very traditional decor, unlike many places now which are soulless and impersonal. No negative comments to make. Well located for a good pub 70yds away if you require an evening meal. Will definitely stay again when in Dover. Many thanks.

Quintessential English B&B! We are here now and love this place. Free parking on the street out front is super convenient. Lovely old building and rooms filled with antique furniture. If you're looking for a real true old English B&B experience, this is perfect! Upon arrival Sharon is super friendly and makes you feel at home. You climb a typical old charming English building narrow staircase to get to your room. Large rooms with lots of light, comfy bed and linens, tea & coffee, and good toiletries. Breakfast is excellent! As much as possible the ingredients are sourced locally and there is something for everyone, including vegetarian. Location is just around the corner from The White Horse Pub that dates back to 1365 and survived both wars. It's about a 10 minute walk to Dover Castle and about a 20 minute walk to the pier for excellent views of the White Cliffs of Dover. If you're looking for elevators and valet service, go somewhere else, BUT it'll be your loss because you'll be missing a real English experience at a charming B&B with a super friendly host, comfy rooms and excellent breakfast!

Conveniently located near the castle and close to the city centre, this is an old family house turned into a B&B type of accommodation. The room we got, on the first floor, was clean and comfortable, and the hosts were very friendly and nice. There was a family atmosphere that we liked very much. The breakfast was very good (I had my first porridge ever here!). We needed to leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out time, and we arranged this easily. They also have storage for 2 bikes, if needed (but make sure you book this with your reservation, because it fills up quickly: first come, first served). The price was very convenient. In sum, when I go back to Dover, I'll go back to Castle House, and I highly recommend it.

Sharon is an amazing host ! The placement is very nicely located with some shops and pubs around. The breakfasts were excellent and we did sleep well in the Scotney Room I recommend this guest house !
