I have stayed at several Sonesta ES hotels and have had wonderful experiences. Up-to-date furnishings, super clean and felt safe. I arrived at the hotel after 11 pm due to late flight. Imagine my surprise when I drove through the dark area only to find the lobby closed with a note with the phone number that I could call. Nowhere on my reservation form did it indicate I would have to do this. As a single woman, I felt very unsafe waiting in this creepy area for an employee to check me in. She came quickly and was very nice. This is a large complex with parking in dark isolated areas. She told me where I should park and which door to go into. She told me she would meet me there to make sure I got in safely. She reminded me to use deadbolt. I would rather pay double what I paid here. Right now I feel like I am not going to sleep as I am on the first floor. I travel frequently and usually do not feel any fear or discomfort at all. I normally read reviews, but because of my previous positive experience with this hotel chain , I did not feel it was necessary. And there is a bright red light pulsing on and off in the bedroom which is very annoying Stay away

We reserved two rooms for a long weekend. The rooms were placed in two different buildings despite our reservation requesting them close as we were traveling with children. Neither room had a working deadbolt on the doors and both had mold growing in the bathroom. One room was stocked with zero towels or toilet paper and the other had zero soap in any of the dispensers and a leaking bathroom ceiling. One room did not have a working lock when we arrived and the initial suggestion was for us to just “stay in for the night” and they would deal with it the next day. We advised them that this was unacceptable and they did end up switching the lock out with another room. The staff themselves were friendly and as helpful as possible, but they blamed the “system” for how things were, which was frustrating. The rooms overall are a good size but dirty, dingy, and dated. I was surprised how poor of shape and overall dirty the hotel was for a place like Dublin.

It seemed kind of sketchy when our key card didn’t work and the door was damaged like it had been broken into. There are several ads for this place with several different prices. The grounds looked manicured, but the breezeways looked like they could use some freshening up. After our key card didn’t work the second time one of the staff said she would put us in a different room that had been cleaned. My husband said the first one smelled like cigarettes. I’m suspecting that some of the units are being used as subsidized housing for low income families and perhaps they use different rooms for more short term guests. Our second room smelled like it had been cleaned. The bedding was clean and the sheets were crisp. The unit appeared cleaned and well equipped with kitchen utensils, dishes, soap, towels, and travel size shampoo etc. The TV worked well. The bathroom appeared clean but there had apparently been some leaks in wall as the paint was chipping in spots and there appeared to be some mold. However, the tub, toilet and tiles looked clean and the shower curtain was nice. There were dispensers on shower/tub wall but they were empty and one was broken but they did have travel sized toiletries. The towels were clean and fresh. There was an ironing board and iron and an extra sheet in closet. The nightstands had charger plugs built in which was nice. The flooring in kitchen looked newish and the appliances, cabinets and furniture were all in good condition. It was very quiet at night and appeared like a safe place. My only suggestions would be to maybe replace the carpet and either replace couch or put covers that fit on all the cushions, not just the back cushions, and repair the walls in bathroom. There was a safe in the closet but we did not use it as we were not given the code. The shower head was large with good pressure, and there was adequate hot water. The icemaker in full sized fridge worked! We did not use dishwasher so I don’t know about that. All in all was a reasonably priced and comfortable place to stay for two nights with all the amenities we would need. We did not use pool but it appeared operational which was a nice thing for guests on a hot day. Also the bathroom door hinge needed to be adjusted. The door would not close all the way but for the 2 of us not a huge issue. We would stay there again but I would like to see some maintenance done to repair wall in bath, maybe repaint the walls and replace carpet and couch cushions but otherwise everything seemed in good condition. I couldn’t find any other similarly appointed airbnbs in the area and this was close to our son’s apartment. The Dublin area around this hotel seemed safe and nice with lots of nice restaurants etc.

I chose this place because it was the only one available with the "Best bof inspected clean properties" tag when I checked, I should have known that would be extremely wrong. Room reeked of cigarettes, window didn't have a screen so we couldn't air the room out. Conditioner, shampoo, and soap dispensers in the shower were empty, a couple spiders in the bathroom, front desk clerk wiped her nose with her bare hand and coughed before handling my ID and handing me the pen to sign paperwork. Ridiculously overpriced for what you get.

Please do not stay here this place is a horrible mess and will ruin your vacation. The bed frame had blood stains, the room rested a cigarette smell, the sheets weren’t changed, the dust build up is insane, there’s people permanently living here, no room service, can’t find anyone at the front desk. It’s horrible. This place need to be shut down.

We stayed here a few years ago and had a wonderful experience, so we thought it was an easy decision for a place to stay for a weekend trip. I hope we had the worst room in the place, because otherwise this place has gone way downhill since the last time we stayed. Our room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke to the point that we had to buy air freshener so we could sleep at night. Everywhere on the property, it seemed, smelled like pot. There were people smoking **** poolside while kids were playing. The pool was also really cold, which is almost impressive given how hot was outside. Our room was severely worn: the couch looked like it had been shredded by a cat or something and the toilet paper holder was hanging on by a thread. The walls and baseboards had visible dirt. I know their cleaning crew is very short-staffed and I think the people there are doing their best, but they need to make some improvements to this hotel before it becomes super shady and gross.

This hotel SUCKS!!! The room smelled of pot and cigarette smoke, there was a dirty dish in the sink, standing water in the dishwasher, the toilet had issues (wouldn't flush until I reattached the think in the tank) and the furniture was worn and dirty. It had been cleaned as much as possible, but the whole place felt gross. The lobby closes at 10, which we didn't know, and when we showed up at 10:30 the number posted prominently on the door to call was out of service. There is a smaller doorbell on the wall that I eventually noticed and that led to somebody coming down to check us in. I felt bad that we got there after they had closed, but we weren't told of this in advance. Because of the late hour I didn't notice the dirty dish in the sink and the smell didn't seem so awful until I was in bed and couldn't fall asleep for about 90 minutes because of the overwhelming smell. The next morning when we went to make breakfast I found the dirty bowl in the sink. When I pulled another bowl from the cupboard it had caked on food on it. GROSS! When I told the front desk all of this at check out the person just shrugged and said it was because of all the stupid people they have working there. We had booked through Chase Travel and when they called on my behalf they were told that everything was fine with the room - there were no issues. So basically they called me a liar. Avoid this property - and maybe even this brand - at all costs!!!!

booked MONTHS ago and they called us less than 24 hours before we were due to check in and told us “sorry the people in your room want to stay longer” and cancelled our reservation. could hear a woman in the background saying “sorry nothing we can do” when my friend asked if we could get any other type of accommodation. the ramada inn in westerville took us with open arms and was amazing and price matched! would recommend calling them instead of having to possibly scramble at the last minute. :)

The new management is terrible. Lisa was not helpful at all. Seems to be a lot of issues with this place. It’s one thing after the next. You would think their goal would be to provide good service and comfort but it’s nothing but constant errors and guest complaints. Book another hotel.
