We just got back from an amazing stay at the Carrickdale Hotel, We stayed from Tuesday to Friday, two adults and two kids, and honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. First off, the location is fantastic—nestled right between the beautiful Mourne mountains. The place is beautiful, clean and well-maintained, and the grounds are just gorgeous. There's a lovely secret garden cafe where we had some of the best pizzas, burgers, and coffee. It's such a cozy spot! Our first night, we ate in the hotel's restaurant, and it was fantastic. Shout out to Caroline, our waitress, who was so friendly and great with our kids. She made us feel right at home and nothing was too much trouble for her. The leisure center was a big hit with all of us. They provide robes and slippers so you can comfortably walk from your room to the pool, and towels are ready for you there. Such nice touches! There's also a mini-golf course and a cute little playground in the garden. Our kids had a blast and were entertained the whole time. On our last day, we tried the food in the bar, and once again, it didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious, and the service was spot on. Prices were very reasonable too, which is always a plus. As someone with coeliac disease, I was thrilled with the gluten-free options available everywhere, even in the garden cafe. They had a gluten-free pizza option, which is pretty rare to find. Breakfasts were a highlight with choices like full Irish, vegetarian, gluten-free options, and even a healthy breakfast salad. The kids loved the pancakes! Times for breakfast are 7 - 11 which gave us SO much time without once having to panic or rush down for breakfast! It's also cooked fresh to order - no cold eggs or soggy sausages!! The rooms were spacious and comfy, with a shower and jacuzzi bath. The temperature was perfect, not too hot or cold. We felt so relaxed and at home. Overall, the Carrickdale Hotel has such a friendly atmosphere. Everyone we met was smiling and happy to help with anything we needed. It truly felt like a home away from home. It's real old school Irish hospitality that is often lacking in most places these days! I wish we could have stayed longer, and I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a family-friendly, welcoming, and beautiful hotel, this is it!

We recently had our wedding here on 28/6/24 and I cannot praise this venue enough. From the moment we entered the hotel on a wedding open day last year, we knew this was the venue for us. David and his team were unbelievable, so helpful, they took the stress off us completely and we didn't have to ask for anything the whole day. The Bernish Suite was perfect for our party of 160 people, it was beautifully decorated and the servers and bar tenders were so helpful. The food was out of this world, big portions and they even came around and offered everyone second servings. Our guests have raved about the food all week! The wedding package itself was great value for money and offered so much more than other local hotels/venues. The staff really went out of their way for my father in law who has limited mobility, they gave him a very comfortable room that was close to the reception so he didn't have far to walk which we really appreciated. The rooms themselves were beautiful and the honeymoon suite was lovely! The hotel gardens were perfect for our wedding photos, the flowers were in full bloom and the gardens are immaculate. Our photos have turned out amazing! Lots of our guests have said it was the best wedding they have ever been to! Thank you so much to David and his team, you made our day so special and we really can't thank you enough!

It has nice surroundings and is next to the motorway, which makes it very convenient for a stay over when travelling. At reception the lady was very accommodating and we enjoyed great service at the restaurant. Pool maybe not as tranquil as expected as busy.

Exceptional facilities, the jacuzzi in the room was a real treat. Dinner was excellent with generous portions and well cooked food. Unfortunately with only a single night stay we didn't get time to set foot in the spa, the swimming pool being the real selling point for us. For us this was largely down to check in being 4pm and check out being 11am, both an hour later and an hour earlier than any other hotel we've stayed in. Check out time being particularly confusing when breakfast is served until 11 (no complaints, a very flexible and generous morning window with it starting at 7am!). Depending on your journey length, if you're able to hold off to have dinner really late you may be able to get in a swim but it just wasn't possible for us. We'd need to stay an additional night to get full benefit of the suite & spa so as much as we enjoyed our comfortable stay we really didn't get the full value for money. Some attention to detail also needs to be paid to the light fittings on the ceilings which were clearly replaced but still left behind gaping, un-plastered rings from the previous lights.

Yesterday myself and my sister visited the serenity spa for a spa package. €110 for 3 hours use of facilities which included a 1 hr treatment of your choice, and lunch. We both chose facials which were fantastic! Facials were followed by a sorbet and fruit platter. Lunch was brought to their ‘Serenity cafe’ so we sat in our robes in a cosy room eating it. Fantastic soup. Sandwich was just okay (I suspect it was made a good bit beforehand). Tea also served but Prosecco was an option. The staff in the spa are informative, knowledgeable and very, very friendly. We used the pool, outdoor hottub. Sauna, relaxation room. I’d highly recommend Serenity Spa in the Carrickdale. Especially when they have their brilliant offers on.

Ten year wedding vow renewal was made so memorable by the staff and wedding coordinator Rachel. Two night stay for ourselves along side some of our closest friends and family. 5 course meal was fantastic and we can't praise the chicken ceasar salad as a starter enough. Not a single complaint from our 40+ guests and I have to say they all raved about the food and service. Can't recommend the hotel, staff and facilities enough. Photographer raved about the phot ops in the grounds and we were blessed with sunshine lol

Booked one night bed and breakfast in order to attend a show. Very large, busy hotel. The staff were excellent, the food in the bar was very good, especially the salmon. The room was large and clean although a bit dated. There is a very busy road outisde so a tip would be to ask for a room at the back. Only downside, was a very long wait for a breakfast table.
