My wife and I spent 3 days in Galena on a Wednesday-Friday just to get away for a bit. Though we'd do something where we could relax and enjoy. We decided to do a Bed & Breakfast instead of a hotel. We got room 5 which has a clawfoot tub in the bathroom, 2 windows (one with a view to the street, the other with a view to their landscaped area) which had a lot of space. The hosts offer a cocktail hour at 5:00 with a fresh snack and a few drink choices. Breakfast is made fresh daily and varies from day to day. The location is excellent; at the end of a quiet street yet 3 blocks from all the shops in downtown Galena. Very close to a couple tourist attractions. The hosts are very attentive and helpful and have been doing this for many years (yet are selling the place...)

This was our 1st stay at a B&B. David and Robert are amazing and so inviting. They are very knowledgeable about the local businesses and the history of Galena. We enjoyed 5pm drinks and the breakfast was good. David is hilarious and has the absolute best stories! The room was so beautiful and clean. I had a chance to see some of the others as well. It was a lovely trip.

My husband and I spent three wonderful days here! Douglas and Robert are fantastic inn keepers who keep a beautiful 19th century B an B. Delicious breakfasts began our days. And, hors doerves and drinks at the end. We also appreciated their vast knowledge of the area that guided us to great natural areas for hiking and views of the awesome area.

Our time at the Aldrich Guest House was so good! Robert and Douglas know how to pamper their guests….from the first bit of history to Galena, and the many tips for fine dining….all good advice! We especially enjoyed the creative cocktail and breakfast items.

The perfect get away spot. We are so happy we booked our stay here. Lots to choose from in Galena, but this experience was tops. Attention given to every detail. Cocktail hour was a pleasant surprise with unique cocktails and personal charcuterie trays served up with conversation that connected all the guests. We neglected to make dinner reservations, but Robert handled it and we were given a great table at our preferred restaurant 45 minutes later. The evening vibe was ideal as we relaxed in the potting shed. Breakfast was outstanding followed by an extra pot of delicious coffee as we read on the porch. So many nice touches. Just go, you will be so happy you did!

After devouring breakfast, I just kept thinking, I wonder what are we going to eat tomorrow? I enjoyed the home, the history, the food, and the company. I would stay at Alrich Home again and will recommend this place to other family and friends.

Great hosts and a great place to stay! Short/scenic walk to downtown. Breakfast and cocktail hour every day was great as well! Rooms were very comfortable and we couldn't hear any of the other guests in the house, even though the place was full!

Wonderful stay. Excellent breakfasts. Fun to chat with other guests during the daily happy hour. Will recommend to friends. Easy walk to tour Grants House and Washburn House. Easy 15 minute walk to downtown via pedestrian bridge. The house is very tastefully decorated.

From the moment we were greeted at the door for a tour, we were charmed. The home is exquisite and has been renovated impeccably while keeping the period details intact. Our room was bright and so comfortable--bed was great, loved the bath products provided. Breakfasts could not have been prepared with more care and thoughtfulness according to everyone's dietary needs. And so delicious! The proprietors put so much thought and love into every detail. Thank you!
