Stayed one night. Brand new hotel. It lived up to its expectations. The room was beautiful and very modern. Very clean. Hotel was super clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good. Several choices. The bed was very comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed here for two nights when we first moved to the area. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Moving delays forced us to stay an extra night at the hotel and the front desk employees were really helpful to book us into the hotel for another night. The breakfast was decent but could use some slight improvement (we would have liked to see more protein options available- it was very carb heavy). The tea and coffee station that was open 24/7 was a nice touch! Room was clean, a decent size, and had a large bathroom (with a great shower!). The pool area and gym looked nice and well equipped (though we didn't use the facilities). Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Brand new hotel, excellent and extremely helpful staff. One of the cleanest hotels I’ve been too! Free breakfast daily with so many options to choose from. The heated pool and 24 hour laundry room were amazing. We can’t wait to visit and stay here again!

We booked the Home2Suites in East Haven primarily for its location @ 5 miles east of New Haven City Center. This is a brand new hotel. The front of the building is located along a busy retail district with easy access to routes 1 & 95. Hilton Honors members (free to join) can use the Hilton app for room selection. We chose a room at the rear of the hotel, facing a quiet residential street, so no issues at all with traffic noise. Parking was well lit, on-site and free. Our room was spacious, with a full size fridge and microwave, dishes and cookware, great for families or an extended stay. Mattress was very comfortable. There was a small amount of learning curve with the AC - it turned off during the night as we did not set the temp low enough. Also the eco-friendly shower amenities did not include hair conditioner. We did not have breakfast on-site, but In the 6-8 am time frame that I was in the dining area everything appeared to be well stocked and very fresh. There were a number food options, including proteins such as egg sandwiches. The seating area is large, and a very comfortable place to hang out while other family members sleep in. What impressed me most was the exceptional personal service. At check-in I mentioned that we were looking to stay again next spring had not seen availability on the website. The sales manager, Lucille, took note of our information and telephoned a week later to let us know that our dates had opened up. She also sent a follow-up email thanking us for our stay. We are looking forward to returning!

Not clean. Washers broken. Elevator down. No eggs. Not good. I checked in and the room is close to the highway which makes it very loud. Only one elevator worked although there wasn’t a sign to indicate that. So the wait was very long and people were frustrated. The floors are not clean. There are two washers and both are broken. Another guest told me it’s been a week and the only help the staff gives is “go to the nearby laundromat”. At breakfast the next day, there were zero eggs. Signs for sandwiches and hard boiled eggs but none available.

Firstly, my eyes burned the entire weekend when in the hotel making it difficult to enjoy the time with family and friends. It was a burning type sensation that was uncomfortable and a nuisance. Additionally, upon check-in I was informed there would be an additional $150 hold placed upon my credit card along with room charge. I feel as though this detail should have been disclosed to me upon booking. When I suggested to the hotel staff that this could potentially ruin someone’s trip if they possibly didn’t have the extra room on their card for this hold, that it should be disclosed upon booking, not check-in. It seems almost deceptive. Hotel staff suggested that customer would need to go down the road to Branford instead if they couldn’t pay. This seems highly irresponsible to expect a family that is travel from out of state to try and go under and make alternate hotel plans because Hilton didn’t disclose properly the room charges. I don’t believe we’ll be staying here again next year.

I didn't actually end up staying. We were going to be in the area for a tournament and a couple of days before the tournament the child that was supposed to be playing in the tournament was injured and is out for the rest of the season. I called to cancel and the person I spoke with said that given the situation they would wave the one night penalty, but their on property computer system was down and I would need to call back after 4pm (this was around 9am). I ended up calling the next morning and spoke with the person that I spoke with the day before and she said she needed to have her manager approve and that he/she wouldn't be in until 10am (this was around 9am) but she would have the manager call when he/she gets in. At around 10:30am I got a call from the hotel (not the manager) and she told me I was going to be charged for 1 night (it was only a 2 night reservation). I explained the situation again and it didn't matter. I told her what the last person I spoke to said and it didn't matter. I asked to speak to the manager, but was told the manager was in a meeting and would call me after the meeting. Next I called corporate and Hilton rewards and they reached out to the location and was told that the manager wouldn't be in until the afternoon, but there was nothing they could do. It was the location that needed to approve remove the penalty. They asked me if I had been charged the penalty yet and I told her that the charge was pending. She said that the manager could reduce the penalty or remove it entirely prior to the charge going from pending to an actual charge. I just checked my credit card and it is now a charge. I still haven't received a call from the manager and I'm guessing I probably won't. Yes I agreed to the cancelation policy so this is ultimately on me, but you would think that they would have some flexibility and empathy in these types of situations. This is ultimately the decision of the specific location, but reflects poorly on Hilton as an organization.
