We stayed over the weekend for a little get-a-way. First the bad. The beds are hard- could use a mattress topper. And the king is two beds pushed together so a bit of a crevice. Again, a mattress topper would help. There was a bit of an odor when we arrived in our room. But it dissipated. The breakfast is mediocre. Not horrible, not great. There is a hot tap and cold tap in bathroom which makes washing your face a pain. Having said that. The good. The location is excellent. Quick bus into the Royal Mile or a short walk. The bus stop is right across the street. The room was clean and well equipped. The hostess was lovely. I would stay again for the price point and quick access to the main attractions.

Ranziges Zimmer. Fingerdick Staub auf dem Schrank. Penetranter Geruch aus den Teppichen und Mobiliar. Tür von innen ohne Griff, muss mit den Schlüssel als Hebel geöffnet werden. Keine Toilette und keine Dusche im Zimmer. Ca. 3qm gemeinschaftliche Nasszelle auf dem Flur (inkl. Toilette). Als Badezimmer kann man das nicht bezeichnen. Diese Kammer wird mit 3 anderen Zimmer auf der Etage geteilt. Sanitäre Armaturen unterirdisch. Wasser läuft durch einen strombetriebenen Plastikerhitzer in (!!!) der Dusche auf etwa 50 qcm. Der Winzling am Empfang war unglaublich unfreundlich - und ja, leider auch ironischer Weise rassistisch („… you Germanzzz can take orders! leave and come back later, you are too early..“) war die Reaktion auf die Frage ob man vor 15:00 ins Zimmer dürfte. Es müsse gründlich gereinigt werden. Gepäck abstellen nicht möglich. Nach dem das Zimmer gründlich gereinigt wurde - Resultat s.o., haben wir es betreten (ca. 16:00) und es bis ca. 16:45 ausgehalten, dann eingepackt und das „Hotel“ verlassen. Ansprechbares Personal - Fehlanzeige. Einziger Trost wäre wenn es auf keinem Portal mehr aufgeführt werden dürfte. Für Abenteurer: Macht eure eigene Erfahrung für ca. 400€ für zwei Nächte.

The stuff was very friendly! But the room was cold and the breakfast was terrible. Its not worth the money. The area was good a nice walk to the center of Edinburgh took about 20 minutes or catch a bus. Lots of good resturants and bars near the hotel.
