Edinburgh Old Town
had a fantastic stay here! there were 10 of us who all booked out a dorm. was quiet, clean and good quality. there are two bathrooms and two toilets per dorm which i thought was very good. our room wasn’t ready for an extra half an hour so they gave us free drink tokens for the bar! the reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is because it was awfully hot in the room - even with the window open! there didn’t seem to be air con - we wondered even if the hostel had put the heating on? we didn’t try the breakfast. the hotel bar had decent food but long waits.

I have stayed at EasyHotels before so I am no stranger to their smallness. These rooms are no different but have no issue with that as that is what I expected. I stayed in windowless room but realised now this is not for me. For one or two nights it may not be an issue but any longer and I would recommend against it. Also if you are staying in their smaller rooms best you be a single traveller as they are not suitable for two persons with luggage. It is a budget hotel so the finishings in the room are not perfect, the walls are thin and you will hear your neighbours from time to time. The rooms themselves were clean enough however. This hotel has narrow stair access, no lifts, so with large cases be prepared to struggle. The hotel is located close to everything. I have no complaints about staying here, as it was everything I expected, but if you intend on staying yourself - my advice for what it is worth is do your research as to the size of room you are getting and weigh it up against whether it is an acceptable trade off to the money you are saving.

We stayed here for 2 nights so we could visit the Christmas Markets etc. We stayed in room 22, the bed was the best bed we have ever slept in.. room spacious and very quiet. There is a common room with coffee machine, fruit etc for guests.. staff were helpful and friendly. Location of hotel Very accessible to get into Princess St etc. Haymaker train Station and tram just a 2 min walk from hotel, with local bars and restaurants and cafe a short stroll away. Would def stay here again..

Edinburgh Old Town
Fabulous stay for my husband and I in a very clean annexe part of the hostel. Full working kitchen with table and chairs. Our double bedroom was very comfortable, clean, warm and well decorated with a tv. Shared bathroom (2) and separate toilet. The location is superb, just off the Royal Mile, but two things to bear in mind. Firstly there are quite a lot of steep stairs, the building is old with character and so single pane windows. The street below has cobbled stones with tall buildings each side - so great acoustics for hearing all noises and it’s a vibrant city so it’s rarely peaceful. It wasn’t a problem for us but earplugs essential for lighter sleepers I’d say. Great value for money and ideal for the nearby Christmas Matket and seeing the lights in town, at the castle and the superb trail of lights at Edinburgh Botanic Gardens. A short, albeit steep walk up from Waverley train station. Loved our stay here we managed to pack a lot into a short stay due to the location.

The hygiene of this student apartment is really surprising. The bed and bathroom are cleaner than many hotels, and the bed is very soft and comfortable. The next day, I found a shared kitchen with all the equipment such as ovens, which is very convenient for heating bread. Coffee, milk and tea bags are also prepared. Although the location is a bit remote, it is very quiet to live in it. The bus is just outside the door, so it is actually very convenient to go into the city. I didn't want to leave after staying there for a few days. It was very pleasant.
