The location couldn't be more perfect, right in the heart of the Royal Mile, with windows overlooking the church. A crucial tip for arrival: from the train station, definitely avoid the stairs and take the main road instead; it's about an 8-minute walk. The kitchen and washing machine are fully equipped, great for preparing your own tasty meals. The bedding was excellent, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. The only minor point was the slightly low shower pressure, but that's often to be expected in an older building.

Aparthotel is perfectly located and near to everything. We were able to walk easily to most of the nearby attractions, with a lot of restaurants and pubs around. We booked a one‑bedroom apartment that came with a twin bed and a sofa bed, plus a small kitchen where you could cook if you wished. The room was clean, and the facilities felt quite new. Staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping wasn’t provided daily, so we had to clear rubbish ourselves and collect tissues or fresh towels from the front desk — not a major inconvenience. The property also had a spacious public area (used as breakfast area in the morning) where people could work or play card or board games. The only issue we encountered was with the laundry service: it was closed the night prior to the scheduled maintenance day, leaving us to carry our dirty clothes around.

All went well from check-in to check-out. A special thank you to Beth from Guest Relations, who made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Great location as not too far from Edinburgh Waverley Station and a couple of minutes off the Royal Mile. Lots of pubs and eating places nearby. Staff very welcoming and always available. We were about half an hour early for check-in time, but our room was available for us. Sweet double room was large enough for 2 people. Hanging space for clothing with hangers included. Large desk/table with fully stocked tea/coffee station. Clean room and bedding, plus extra pillows were available. Bed was comfy, think they use mattress toppers. We stayed for 3 nights in January and the room was warm enough with the use of the heater/cooler system. Our room overlooked Hunters Square, so quite a nice view of what was going on. Small bathroom, but shower cubicle was big enough and shower easy to use. Large mirror with lighting around it in bathroom and long mirror on the wall in the room. Hairdryer in room also. Free WiFi was always available. Large flat screen TV was in working order. We had no issues with noise from other rooms or from the street outside, even though we occasionally had the window open. Key cards worked with no problems. You also have the option to ”Skip the daily clean”, which we did, but changed the towels. Corridors always smelled clean and fresh. We didn't opt in for the breakfast and didn't eat or drink in the hotel, as we ate out alot. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Slightly out of the way and in a somewhat isolated area, especially at night in the alleys connecting the street to the Royal Mile. The mattress was definitely not up to Marriott standards. The staff, however, were very courteous and professional.

Fantastic location, close to attractions, restaurants, and supermarkets, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The room was spacious and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. The staff were friendly and the stay was quiet and comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely choose to stay here again if I have the chance.

Overall, I was quite satisfied, though the price wasn't cheap at £2500 per night (including a sofa bed, but no breakfast). 1. The room wasn't huge, but it was small yet perfectly formed, even boasting a bathtub. The sofa bed was surprisingly large, around 1.45m wide, almost like a double bed, which exceeded my expectations. 2. The breakfast was quite substantial. Having stayed in many hotels across the UK, this one offered the best breakfast. However, British breakfasts generally pale in comparison to those in China, with most hotels offering the same ten or so standard items. So, for a UK hotel, this one was pretty good. That said, it was also pricey at £21 per person, though children ate free. 3. The hotel's location was decent; it was about a 20-minute walk to the castle. Edinburgh is much like Chongqing in China, full of hills and stairs. What looked like a 20-minute walk from the train station ended up taking us at least half an hour with luggage, and we even had to drag our bags up stairs. If you're not carrying heavy loads, it's fine, but with luggage, you might want to consider taking a taxi. 4. This hotel surprisingly has a pool, and it was quite clean, though it was small and felt rather stuffy. The hotel doesn't have air conditioning, but it does have a fresh air system. I visited in July, and it wasn't hot; in fact, I still needed a light blanket in the room.

The overall experience didn't live up to the price. For a luxury king room costing over 3000 a night, the path to our room was ridiculous: first up to the second floor, then down to the basement (-1 floor), passing through a total of six doors, four of which were tiny, only to be given a room at the very end of the hallway. When I tried to sort this out at the front desk, the hotel's excuse was that they had no other rooms available that day! Yet, I found the exact same room type still listed on three different booking platforms. Even the Trip.com agent insisted there were no rooms, which is hard to believe if it's listed on three separate sites – if it was just one, I might understand it being taken down. On check-out day, due to the incredibly small lobby, we waited for the elevator for a good 10-20 minutes, only to find no available elevators we could fit into. My child and I ended up having to carry our large suitcases down the stairs! Aside from all this, when I tried to change rooms, the 'Chinese courtesy' they advertise (Trip.com should really amend this) was non-existent. There was merely a person who spoke Chinese, or more accurately, a Chinese person who acted like a European. When I mentioned at the front desk that the room didn't match the photos and felt like false advertising, this 'Chinese' staff member actually got upset. Shouldn't a guest be allowed to point out discrepancies between the booking and the actual experience? The way the front desk staff looked at me, their facial expression, and tone of voice, were completely unacceptable for a hotel costing over 3000 a night.

It was a great experience overall. Good staff and nice location. Will be back on our next trip. It was near Royal mile and edinburgh castle.

My second stay here Great location at a good price, in Edinburgh you will be outside most of the day in this great city so you just need a comfortable sleep at a good location which this hotel provides as it's at the tip of the royal mile and only few mins walk to Waverley bridge where you can get the airport express bus and also the train station, rooms have good Balmoral view Just avoid the corner rooms cuz they have sluggish internet connection
