Motel Ely

My cousin and I recently stayed a couple nights on front and back ends of a canoe trip. Classic little motel at east end of Sheridan St. Owners Edie and Mike have preserved the character of this time capsule updated with all the modern conveniences. Spotlessly clean, everything in good working condition, lots of hot water and a good Wifi signal. Edie and Mike are also delightful to chat with and are so helpful. Ely itself is such a nice little town to wander around. Highly recommend.

Motel Ely totally changed my view of motels for the better. My room was so clean and comfortable. The owners are warm and friendly. They gave us great recommendations for dinner and breakfast. We stayed for one night on our way to Northern Tier. So grateful for a great night of sleep. Would definitely stay here again.

Owners are super friendly, responsive and respond to requests/questions very quickly. They are very involved in the community and are able to recommend restaurants, community activities, hiking and other activities in Ely and surrounding area. Hotel is super clean, updated and very cute. Location is great and we could walk to almost everything we did in town. Would definitely stay there again!

Traveling with a larger group. Rooms were VERY clean and they accommodated our late check-in. Such a quaint place with great retro vibes! Worth the time to check it out. Not sorry we stayed there and would stay there again.

Do not hesitate to book this motel. It has so much charm! Check-in was quick and easy. The room was a good size and well laid out (1 bed). The bathroom was fine. It was just big enough. Everything was impeccably clean and neat. We were in Room #13, which faced the West. It had a little sidewalk in front of it with chairs and a table. We sat for quite a while and enjoyed the sun as it went down. There are 2 rooms that have stairs to get to so if you have mobility issues, be sure to mention this. The owners are just lovely and an asset to the community of Ely. We chatted for quite awhile, sharing stories. They are very busy so that time with us was greatly appreciated. We will return, thanks to the amazing hospitality.

This was the CLEANEST hotel I have stayed in. I travel frequently and u detest and labor problems- this hotel was great. Quiet. CLEAN! Comfortable. Well done! Flowers were also pretty. Very close to our jumping off point in the boundary waters.

This place is outstanding! The owner was very friendly, stopping to talk to us a few times. Even let us check in early. The room was very clean, everything was in order, fridge worked. The one bed room is reasonable spacious, but the bathrooms are tiny. I get it, need to fit people in. Overall very good motel, no bedbugs, and very clean. The housekeeping staff do a great job!

Not a lot of staff. Charged us more then what ******* had us booked for. No hair dryer and not enough towels in the room. One set for two people.

Friendly staff, motel is a little older, but very clean, and a good location, would stay there again
