Aparthotel Esquinzo Y Monte Del Mar

Myself and wife stayed at Apart hotel for 6 nights. It was very clean and comfy. The pool had only days before been completed after a refit and they did a superb job. All new liner, outside of pool immaculate and all new sun loungers. The restaurant we only used for breakfast but for €10 per person you had as much as you liked. It was very good value. We didn't have a kettle in our room on Arrival, but asked for 1 and got 1. All staff on site were very helpful and polite. Our room was very nice indeed. Only tiny issue it had no aircon so night's were warm.
Alua Village Fuerteventura - All Inclusive

The whole thing was…fine. Entrance to the building looks fairly grand and other people on our transfer going to other hotels even commented on how nice it looked but unfortunately the more closely you looked, the more you saw. We paid extra for a My Favorite Club room which meant our room was right by the pool - possibly the closest of all of them. The room was okay, bed reasonably comfortable and had a fridge as well as coffee making facilities. There were holes in the curtains, yellowing all around the bath and chips in the painted tiles. Bed was squeaky. It was fairly obvious that the refurb in 2019 had been very surface level. Plenty of coat hangers but no drawers or shelves for your underwear etc so a lot of our stuff stayed in suitcases. There are two pools not including the little kids ones. Very cold, but once you were in you got used to it. Unfortunately there were missing tiles everywhere, bits of the floor coming off and the build in jacuzzi in one of the pools looked as if it hadn’t worked for years. My biggest issue with the pools was safety - the ladders to get in and out had come away at the top on a number of them which meant they had a great deal of movement when using them. I initially thought this was a weird design flaw, until I found two ladders that stayed put. The sunloungers were also the most uncomfortable I’ve ever found in a 4* resort - just a thin bit of material and no padding or anything. Food and drink - incredibly repetitive but it’s an all inclusive so you expect some level of that. Biggest issue is was frequently things were wrongly labelled - there would be pepperoni pizza below a label that said “margherita” or noodles labelled as “veggie noodles” that had bits of chicken in. Cocktails included in the AI were from a machine and had a very synthetic, syrupy taste about them. If you’re a beer drinker you’re fine, no complaints about that from my partner at all. The My Favorite club itself was nice and you were able to help yourself to bottler beer, spirits and wine. The outside area in the evening however was very dark as although there were several lamps these were rechargeable and never had power. The beach was beautiful. Two sun loungers cost €15 for the day and the beach bar was reasonably priced. We only went once during our 5 night stay however as it wasn’t part of the hotel (so the AI) and the walk back up was long and very steep - I strongly advise anyone who isn’t particularly steady on their feet or physically fit to not undertake this walk. We had a nice time during our holiday, and I’m not saying it was a bad place to be, but I think there were a number of things this hotel could have been doing to improve it. The last two hotels we’ve been to we’ve already rebooked to go back, this one we haven’t and won’t.
Fuerteventura Princess

Fuerteventura Princess is a great hotel. It could be excellent but we had a few small service issues. The hotel itself and the facilities were fantastic. Food - great choice and always tasty. Even for our fussy eaters. However, it did seem to take a long time to clear tables and we often had to look around for a clean one. Pools - great, we used both the heated and non heated and both were okay in February temperatures and were regularly cleaned. Bars - a good choice of places to drink but the cocktail menu is almost non existent on the normal AI. Limited to Pina Colada or Tequilla Sunrise for alcoholic choices. Entertainment was limited, there were a few acts on but not every night. Room - furnished very nicely but here is where we experienced sub standard service for a 4*. Shower gel not replenished during our stay, even though we left the lid off to show it was empty. We had to take cool showers on occasions as the water was not always hot. We only had one mug between 3 of us and coffee was not replenished. The view from our room consisted of an 8 ft concrete wall, even though we could hear the ocean from behind it. The reason being they placed us just by the Adult only area when staying with children. Would I stay here again? Maybe. I've stayed in many 4* family hotels and this rates about the mid point and we had a pleasant stay overall.
