Stayed at the Trailborn for four nights. Our room was clean and comfortable but we had issues with the shower that was not resolved during our stay. Service was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. I took an elk photo tour with Thomas that the hotel arranged. Had a great time. Food in the lobby was good. There was live music one night on the back patio. Hotel location was close to downtown but I wish it was more off the road due to vehicle noise. Otherwise, we had a nice stay at the Trailborn Rocky Mountains.

Great lobby and solid service. The restaurant was nice as well as the outdoor area. While the facelift the rooms got looks nice, I’ll note that there were some gnats and my shower didn’t drain properly. The bedding wasn’t really tucked in properly either. I’ll also note that while the rooms got a facelift, the sound proofing is absent. I heard everything going on around me. That said, the staff and lobby helped me to see past this. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced place to stay and have tempered expectations, then this will likely be ok for you. I merely used this for my RMNP visit.

Misled by the advertised quality of this facility. It is by no means upscale and does not justify the rates charged.

This is an older motel that has been remodeled in a mid-century style. Because of its age, you can hear TV's in the adjoining room and people walking in the room upstairs. While the bathroom was extremely small it was very functional. Very comfortable bed and the pillows were excellent. The fire pit and outside seating area was a plus. There is an onsite bar and restaurant that was closed on Monday and Tuesday (apparently an off-season schedule). Bar has excellent cocktails, especially the old fashion and the margarita on the rocks. The dinner and breakfast menus are very limited, but quality and quantity of the food was well above average.

Great location and facilities! We enjoyed our visit in Estes Park. I wish we would have taken advantage of the s’mores!

We were incredibly excited for our stay at Trailborn in September. My biggest grievance with the property is the noise levels - traffic, people walking up/down stairs, rooms above and even next to us could be heard at all times of the day and night. The half shower door left water all over the floor. It felt like a bit of a lipstick on a pig situation. It was clear they were going for aesthetics but all around it felt lacking. The staff were friendly and the parking/location was convenient. Unfortunately for the price, I couldn't recommend a stay here nor would I return.

When I first checked in, the front desk informed me that they were placing me in a room (Room 102) where the AC had been malfunctioning, but they believed it was fixed. They asked me to let them know if it was working once I got to the room—a concerning start. Upon entering, I immediately realized the AC wasn’t functioning. I informed the front desk, and they restarted the unit. However, this process repeated itself four times, each time with the same result. It wasn’t until 1 AM that I requested to be moved to another room (Room 207), as the temperature was unbearable. While Room 207 was at least cooler, I was soon met with another issue: water dripping from the AC unit directly onto my pillow. This made it impossible to get a good night's rest. In total, I’ve barely had 4 hours of sleep per night due to the poor condition of your rooms. I spoke to the front desk on Wednesday morning and requested to speak with the manager. I was told the manager would call me back, yet I still haven’t received any communication. The lack of response has been frustrating, to say the least and I have yet to hear from a manager to this day.

Dear fellow travelers, If you ever have the chance to stay at Trailborn's flagship location in Estes Park, don’t pass it up! My wife and I are traveling across the country, visiting all the national parks, and this hotel's location couldn’t be more perfect. It’s close to the park, the town, and the lake—absolutely wonderful! What they’ve done with this old hotel is truly impressive. The redesign has kept that nostalgic roadside charm, with a new boutique feel …making it feel so welcoming. After staying at many hotels, motels, and resorts during our journey, this one stands out as the most memorable. And the staff? They couldn’t have made our stay more enjoyable. They were engaging, helpful, and made sure everything was about us and our experience. We even ended up extending our stay for another night, just because we didn’t want to leave!

Pros: great location, walking distance to town. cool decor, neat fire pit with smores, hammocks, friendly staff at the front desk, would def stay again Cons: restaurant was closed the days we were there (I think they are closed Monday and Tuesday) pool was closed during our stay for renovation… looked like they were doing a much needed overhaul), no carpeting and thin walls so we were worried our neighbors could hear every time our kids were walking and moving around, even if they weren’t being super loud. Our door wouldn’t latch locked without giving it a really hard pull, so whenever housekeeping came to clean we came back to our door unlocked after a day in the park so after the first day we just made sure not to leave anything valuable in the room. Overall it was a good stay for a national park trip. We didn’t spend much time in the room bc we were out exploring. There is a soft cooler in the room that you can bring into the park with you. It isn’t super efficient but it gets the job done if you are flying in and can’t bring your own cooler. It was a cool place and we would stay there again.
