Quite good. The campus was nice. Toiletries were lacking which was disappointing!

The location is on the hill of the school, the room is not big, the double bed is very small, it's a bit cramped for two people to sleep. Breakfast was English breakfast which was ok. The terrace outside the restaurant overlooks the beautiful pastoral scenery, which is very beautiful.

The front desk is very nice, although the environment is average and the bathroom has a smell. The location is not very good. It is better to take a taxi up the mountain and there are no supermarkets nearby. Good for short stay

位置在Exeter大學附近,空氣比較好,視野廣濶,缺點比較靜,到市中心乘坐4號巴士再步行,購物比較唔方便。

I stayed at Holland Hall (usually student accommodation) while on a work/fun trip at Exeter University. The breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent. The campus is peaceful and beautiful. However, I can't say the same for anything else. It's overpriced for what it is and it lacks important basics that any cheaper hotel would have (I have stayed st other hotels in Exeter). - My assigned room reeked of cigarette smoke. The first room I was given stank so strongly that my (mild) asthma flared up when I walked in. The room was pretty dank as well. I asked for and was given a new room and it wasn't much better, but I didn't feel comfortable with asking for yet another room. - The rooms stank because the beautiful doors and balconies shown in the photos don't work. The doors can be cracked, but don't open, so students clearly smoke in their rooms during the year. This also means that the balconies and windows can't be cleaned (mine were disgusting) and that my rooms were hot and stuffy. - The building mostly seemed unoccupied but both rooms were in an area that was dark and that didn't seem as well-maintained than other parts of the building. I suspect that this is where solo travellers are put. - There is zero insulation. The doors slam loudly on to hard wooden frames and every conversation in adjoining rooms was as loud as if it were in the same room. No one is getting any sleep until everyone on the floor is asleep. - I arrived early and asked (after tracking someone down because there's no one at reception until 3 pm) if I could store my suitcase until check-in-time. There was a flat-out no even though the reception area was huge and pretty empty. I didn't want to have to lug the case all the way back down the hill so asked again. I was told to leave it in an empty, publicly accessible room. Finally, after keeping up the pressure, I was allowed to leave it at reception. It was a pretty unpleasant experience. - You will not want to stay here if you don't have a car. There is no bus service. I run marathons and yet it was a slog to get to the hotel with my bags. It's an uphill trek on footpaths that aren't in great shape. - The showers are tiny and don't have trays to catch water. Maybe other people are more graceful than I am, but my bathroom was a mess (wet toilet and floor) after showering. I ended up needing to stay in Exeter another couple of days and would have extended my stay at Holland Hall because work was busy and I didn't want to take time to find another place to stay. However, I couldn't extend my stay because of the unstaffed reception. If I had booked another couple of nights online, the cleaners probably would have collected my stuff from my room and there was nowhere else to leave it. The bottom line is that it seems like a bit of a money grab and not just for summer hotel guests but for students.
Response from Property: Thank you very much for taking the time to feed back. We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your stay, and we will pass the points you have raised on to our management team to investigate. Regarding services such as reception opening times and left luggage, we do try to give a comprehensive overview of the facilities available to guests on the website, so that they can make an informed choice when booking with us. And we are sorry to hear that you were unable to take advantage of the regular bus service that runs every day from Exeter St. Davids station to campus. With kind regards.

En suite room, comfortable bed. Helpful friendly staff. Great breakfast. Good parking facilities. Only missing item was a hairdryer, I could have asked if reception had one but managed without. Wonderful views, woodland - like location meant I went to sleep listening to owls.
Response from Property: Thank you very much for your feedback and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay, especially the breakfast and the wonderful views. Hopefully we can look forward to welcoming you back to the University of Exeter again in the future. With kind regards.

Wasn’t allowed to use the pool The smoke alarm lights randomly flashed green approximately every 39 seconds The rooms have had ant infestations and birds and seagulls. Worse then a travel lodge. The fast this has to be 200 words is an absolute jokes
Response from Property: Thank you very much for taking the time to feed back. We are sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay regarding ants in your room and we hope that you were provided with a satisfactory alternative room. We will pass your feedback about the smoke alarm battery indicator and noise from seagulls on to the accommodation team. With kind regards.

Lots of pluses, but also lots of minuses! Within reasonable walking distance of Exeter Centre, but it is a real slog up the hill on the way back. There is parking, but not immediately nearby, and with bays too short for long cars. Not easy to drop off luggage. Friendly enough reception staff, but they weren’t based on the ground floor, and the lift was out of order. Accommodation was clean and comfortable enough, but a schlep across a large outside courtyard - not wonderful as we were there in the rain Comfy bed, but room was tiny, with a spectacular view of nothing but nearby foliage, so was very dark. Breakfast was self service and plentiful, but the quality wasn’t brilliant. First time to stay in a hall of residence…. Reasonably priced, but for not a lot more dosh, a better option might have been a budget chain hotel.
Response from Property: Thank you very much for taking the time to feed back. We are sorry to hear about the problems you encountered during your stay and we will pass your feedback on to the accommodation management team. With kind regards.

We loved it. The rooms were super and the breakfast was great. The staff were outstanding. Kind helpful and accomodating. Especially Stuart who did everything he could to accommodate all our needs!! Of course it's not luxury for all those critics out there....but if you want luxury ....don't book uni accomodation!!
Response from Property: Thank you very much for your feedback and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We will pass your kind words on to the accommodation staff, who will be happy to hear that their efforts were appreciated. Hopefully we can look forward to welcoming you back to the University of Exeter again in the near future. With kind regards.

We stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend in July , while going to a let's rock Exeter concert . We were extremely disappointed with our stay and I honestly believe this is probably the most overpriced place we have ever stayed . The room rate per night was £98 , in reality it's worth £30 plus an extra £5 per head for breakfast . We expected it to be basic .... but not this basic .... we booked through ********** and weren't aware of the full details . When booking in we were given very little info , no breakfast times etc . There were no parking spaces near the accommodation so we had to drop the luggage off and park the car a long way down a hill !! We were 5 floors up with no lift !!! Staff appeared vague and not all welcoming . Once in the room , it felt very claustrophobic, the room was hot and very small, it had patio doors but they could only be opened a small amount as had a lock on them. The bed was a metal one with a cheap mattress and wasn't comfortable . The bathroom was tiny and a wet room ( literally ) the shower wasn't great and similar to those you get in a camp site . I'm guessing we paid more as Exeter was pretty booked up this weekend due to the festival but I asked what the normal room rate is and was told it was £83 !!! Even £83 is a ridiculous price for such inferior basic accommodation . The bathroom is shabby and the door doesn't go right down to the floor , the wardrobe door needed attention as one of the brackets was coming off . The only toiletries provided was a tiny bar of soap and there was only one coffee, one tea, milk and sugar , so we had to ask for more . The toilet roll was nasty and poor quality, so we went to the nearest supermarket and bought our own . Booking this place put a real dampener on our weekend and I'd never stay here again . If you're going to charge £99 for a room , at least make it a decent standard . We found it quite noisy , doors slamming and the fire alarm went off at 11.30 pm one night ..... the only good thing was the quality of breakfast but eating in a school type canteen and queuing up for everything isn't our thing . Next time I will book a travelodge or premier inn, I will save a lot of money and get a decent night's sleep . Speaking to others staying here , I know we weren't the only ones disappointed with our stay and felt it was a total waste of money . Would not recommend this to anyone .

4 of us stayed here for a weekend in July . Never again ! Cramped hot tiny room , no lift and we were up a few flights of stairs . Everything poor quality , no tv or toiletries . Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night so we had to go down in our pjs . No explanation given by staff and everyone just went in once the alarm stopped . Unhelpful staff . Total waste of money for the price charged ( £98 a night for a room for 2 ) breakfast was ok but the queue was horrendous on the sat and we had a long wait . Parking was a nightmare and we weren’t warned about all the stairs and lack of lifts . Horrible stay and wouldn’t go back .

Lovely place to stay, wonderful views as it is up a hill. Free parking, brilliant breakfast, all you can eat and drink with FIVE different types of milk for your cereal or coffee! We had three student rooms, all with a double bed and en-suite shower room. I think these are student rooms in a corridor and are designed for one person but they suited us 5 fine. We had a fridge in our room, not sure if they are in all accommodation. Lovely grounds to stroll around. You might have to drive around to find a parking space so it may not be close to the rooms. It is a hilly site with about 20 minute walk into town but there are busses about. We saw two lounges, one with a snooker table and the other with boxed games available, both had lovely views across the valley. A Weatherspoons very close if you want to eat dinner or have a beer
Response from Property: Thank you for taking the time to feed back. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, especially the breakfast, and that you had a chance to enjoy the grounds. Hopefully we can look forward to welcoming you back to the University of Exeter again in the future. With kind regards, Event Exeter.

Great budget room, easy to book and check in. You get what you pay for, the rooms are quite clearly university halls rooms but there is room for storage and an en suite - reminds me of first year lol. Staff were polite and helpful. There is an option to use the restaurant which we did not explore - Exeters best attraction Impy is just down the road, and town centre is only 20 minutes walk. Would recommend for a night/couple days stay
