Holiday Inn & Suites Arden - Asheville Airport

My issue is this. We booked through Priceline, didn't realize they were not pet friendly. Did not stay at hotel. Hotel said that any cancellation or refund would have to be at Priceline's discretion. Priceline (who is difficult to work with at times) said they would cancel and refund if the hotel approved. Hotel cancelled one of the two nights but charged us the other night. No reason. Priceline approved the refund but the hotel (we did not stay at) would not approve it. They felt that for $97 it would be worth having bad customer service. They could have refunded us. They could have went above and beyond...but they didn't... All for $97.

When I arrived, I was greeted by a very friendly woman at the front desk late at night. You all should have her train your day staff. I was upgraded to a suite which was large but the decor felt like a basement office. Idk how to explain it. Not a big deal but if it were my hotel, I’d make it feel more warm and inviting. Everything looked clean and nice. Until middle of the night. I had plugged my phone in on the night stand. I woke up to see ants crawling all over the phone, the night stand, and even worse, there were some in my bed. I had set nothing there except my phone when I arrived so nothing was there to attract the ants so it was clearly an infestation. But hey, that can happen to anyone. Didn’t really sleep that well the rest of the night. At 7, I called to request a shuttle to the airport at 9am and inform them of all my new ant friends that joined me for the night. They apologized and said they would take care of it for me that day. At 8:55, I go downstairs for the shuttle. I’m standing there in full uniform looking like what anyone would look like if they work on planes for a living. I saw a shuttle but nobody was in it. Unfortunately for myself, they gave the good employee some time off and replaced her with a grouchy woman. She saw me standing there and just let me wait. Finally, I asked if there was another shuttle on its way back. And she said no and asked if I scheduled a shuttle. I informed her that I did. She looks in some book and said I was not written down. So I asked when the driver will be here. And she said “when he gets here.” I asked her if she had a time and she said she wasn’t sure but he will be here eventually. I told her that I had to be at work at a certain time. I could tell this comment had no impact on her to help me. I also informed her of the ants since the person I talked to earlier didn’t write me down for the shuttle probably forgot about the gang of ants that have moved into my room. She said she would handle it. So I waited another 5 minutes and asked if the hotel would pay for a taxi for me since they forgot to take me to the airport. She seemed annoyed and finally agreed to take me herself. When I arrived back to my hotel in the evening, the maids did a great job of cleaning my room but unfortunately nobody did anything to evict the ants who invited more of their ant friends. So the ants and I had another sleepless night. They seemed to enjoy it but I didn’t. Maybe they were messing with me because I still refused to feed them. This night I decided to record some of my new ant friends and in the morning showed them to luckily not the same person who worked the day before. She was very apologetic and said that she would have it taken care of for me. On this evening, I called for the airport shuttle. Keep in mind, this hotel is .9 miles away from the airport. After waiting 20 min, I called and asked if he was on his way because if he wasn’t, I’m just going to walk. It’s a 23 min walk according to the m

Clean and appears well managed. Walking distance to Biltmore Village. Nice and clean pools with outside sitting area. Small rooms though, but nice appointments. Recently renovated it appears. Did no use dining. We would return if price is right

Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We stayed for two nights and had breakfast one morning. The breakfast was just ok. We didn’t care because we were in town to visit the Biltmore and a brewery, not eat at our hotel. The front desk clerks and waitress were top notch. There was plenty of parking no matter the time of day the lobby and halls were clean.

The hotel is centrally located, which is very nice. The indoor pool was very dirty so we couldn’t swim. We had a 2 night stay and our room was not cleaned. We chose a rate that included pre-paid breakfast and were issued breakfast coupons, but not until after we had to argue that we had prepaid for them. Sadly the breakfast menu consisted of only 3 items to choose from, thankfully the kitchen staff was very friendly. This should have been a great stay but …

The property was very clean and the staff, especially the manager on duty that night, were very friendly and so helpful. Great place to stay on your way to the east coast or while in Brevard and Asheville on vacation.

Stay was okay. However, we paid for a room with balcony and were very disappointed with the view. They gave a room with balcony right behind the hotel entrance overhang. So basically we paid premium for no view.

Convenient to what we wanted to do.
