I don't know what to say, except THANK YOU to those who welcomed us with open arms in this modest residence but at the same time full of everything you need. The wifi worked perfectly (even if we didn't care much since we were on vacation and not for work), television worked but never watched, everything was always clean, breakfast not very variable but honestly had everything you needed to start the day with strength. The boy who welcomed us, remained in our hearts to the point that we were all sad to leave and he said goodbye to us from the taxi with infinite sweetness. I highly recommend it as a solution to be able to tour the island well and be independent. The pool was wonderful, but with that sea we never swam in it. The beach is a 10 minute walk away as is the supermarket.

I recently stayed in an economy room and was deeply disappointed by the experience. Initially, I was not aware that the economy rooms were situated across the road from the main hotel building. This unexpected separation proved problematic, especially when opening the windows led to an overwhelming bad smell, a significant concern since I was traveling with my two-year-old child. The absence of a terrace, which at first seemed a downside, ironically spared us from enduring the outdoors' unpleasant odors more than necessary. Unfortunately, our discomfort was compounded by excessive noise from both the nearby main road and the hotel throughout the night, which had a depressive effect on our stay. A particularly low point was witnessing a drainage lorry discharging waste right as we transitioned from the room area to the main hotel—this was both shocking and off-putting. Furthermore, the dated infrastructure of the economy section did little to lift our spirits. On the brighter side, the quality of the food served was quite good, offering a slight reprieve from the otherwise disheartening experience. Regrettably, I felt that the value for money was extremely poor, and the stay left me feeling cheated. Given these issues, especially the noise and hygiene concerns, I cannot recommend same, particularly for those traveling with children.

Wolmar | 3.8km from Ocean Public Access - Avenue des Bretons
La Pirogue hotel is made up of charming Mauritian bungalows that open onto the coconut grove home to more than one thousand trees and the magnificent white sand beach that fringes the turquoise lagoon. Colourful interiors warm wood and authentic thatch are key elements of the rooms of this 4 star Mauritian hotel. La Pirogue unique architectural style is inspired by the eponymous traditional Mauritian fishing boats. Everything here recalls the form of these famous vessels from the main building inspired by a white sail caught by the wind to the thatched bungalows built with local volcanic rocks. Whether you come for a holiday or as part of a group for business with family or on honeymoon in Mauritius La Pirogue affirms its status as a hotel that celebrates the sea.

There are four star hotels, five star hotels and, if you believe the hype of the Emirates Palace in the UAE, even seven star hotels but in my opinion few match La Pirogue. It’s not all glitz, glass, chrome or smoke and mirrors but something very special that it has successfully held onto since its opening in 1976. That something is delivered in spades by La Pirogue as a charming, extremely comfortable, beautifully appointed, beach side paradise that exudes all the traditional aspects of Mauritius. The architecture, the accommodation, the food and most importantly the people who work there together have made our holiday so special and memorable. We had the standard garden bungalow which was quiet, very comfortable and kept impeccably clean and tidy by our housekeeping lady Marianna. It had everything you need for some very comfortable and long sleeps although we tended to set our alarm quite early to walk on the very long, clean, sandy beach. Each early morning walk was followed by a lovely breakfast buffet which offered every type of breakfast you could reasonably think of with eggs and noodle dishes being made fresh to order. Two beachside restaurants offer very tasty food with the choice of dishes enough to tide you over to the evening buffet. Each evening the buffet loosely followed a geographic theme with the very extensive choice of dishes provided to a high standard. Through these journeys of the world cuisines the highlights for us were the Mauritian and Chinese nights. The beach, the very extensive hotel grounds and the beautiful pool area are maintained to a high standard by a hard working team of gardeners. So there in a nutshell you have my thoughts on the hotel itself. However, none of the above would be possible without the team of people who work tirelessly day and night to ensure that the hotel delivers what is promised as you first enter the grounds. In all our travels around the world for business and holidays we have never been so privileged to have been treated the way we have over the last two weeks. To say they’re friendly is an understatement. Every one greets you with a smile and a chat that is not at all forced but a natural reaction to the way the hotel is run as (cliched I know) a very big, happy family. With four hundred plus members of staff it’s impossible to mention all of them but those we met that delivered above and beyond expectations were Sophie, Wendy, Amelia and Suman (Coconut Café), Kamla, Lobin, Suresh, Augun, Prayag, Ravin, Ajay (Wolmar) and of course the chefs, Diksha, Mary Jane and Ketia and last but not least the captains of the kitchen Vik and Vikram. I hope I spelled all the names correctly.

The hotel has a good environment and facilities, but the service details need to be improved. There is a hot water bottle, but there is a lot of scale inside. I don't dare to use it. I usually care about drinking water. There is a water quality test pen for Xiaomi. The hotel has about 200 impurities in tap water and 150 bottles of water. If you care about bringing a kettle. Breakfast and dinner are good, but the dinner men have to wear long pants, the first time I don’t know, hehe.

Honestly speaking this was the best resort I have ever stayed at. When looking at hotels in Mauritius I had to make sure it was special as it was our honeymoon, Maradiva villas made our trip special, the service was impeccable, the staff where amazing and the scenery was unimaginable. We stayed seven nights at Maradiva and I would definitely go back. Upon our arrivals we were greeted in the most pleasant manor with some drinks. We had a buggy waiting for us at the reception to take us over to the villa. When we had arrived to the room I was amazed with how everything looked. In the nicest way it was annoying how attentive they were. We would have our room cleaned twice a day without fail. Every evening they would some form of a gift in the room. The resort has four restaurants and all of them are as good as each other. The beach was clean and all the staff would have a smile on their face. Special thanks to danish who treated us like family. Nothing was too much for him. And I would whole heartedly say he will be the reason for my return to the resort. I travelled to Mauritius for business in both Feb and March 2020, staying at Villa Anakao for 5 nights and 3 nights respectively. This is an excellent option if you are looking for a quiet, laid back retreat away from the flashy resorts and built-up areas such as Port Louis. As mentioned in previous reviews, staff are really friendly and go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. The food is excellent, home-cooked Mauritian dishes each night served outside in a covered eating area by the pool. Breakfast is also good, with eggs cooked to order and fresh fruit. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and have everything you need for a pleasant stay. As a business traveller I was away for most of the day but it was great to come back in the evening, sit on the verandah with a couple of beers and enjoy a traditional Mauritian dinner each night. For those on holiday, the pool area is simple but clean and well-maintained, and there is a beach a couple of minutes’ walk away. Just to note, I would highly recommend hiring a car if staying here - there aren’t really any shops or restaurants within walking distance and although public buses are frequent, you will have a lot more freedom with a car. Driving in Mauritius is easy, hiring a car is inexpensive and there is secure parking on the premises.

Situated at Bel Ombre in the southwest of Mauritius Tamassa is a spacious hotel with a resolutely contemporary setting for a young clientele looking for a difference. All the rooms housed in a set of villas face the sea and are arranged in three arcs two around large swimming pools with a beach and the third one on the seafront. Around the hotels main swimming pool the Show restaurant the B-Bar and the boutique are grouped together in a village style where each component is ideally placed. The view extends from the mountains through the lush sugar cane fields to end up across an azure lagoon towards the horizon.

GGuest User 2019.11.11
For the first stop of the honeymoon trip in Mauritius, I chose a relatively quiet and close to the south shore. When choosing a hotel, I always think that the expensive hotel is the best when I choose the hotel. When I moved to the east bank during the second half of the trip, It was only after the hotel knew that there would be no harm without comparison! If a friend comes to the hairball, I will definitely recommend living on the South Bank. Speaking of service, Tamartha has two Chinese housekeepers, Esther in Qinghai and Zenobia in Hong Kong. After arriving at the hotel, E was very enthusiastic about bringing us familiar with the environment and introducing facilities. sharp contrast. Every time I book a hotel project, as long as the little housekeeper has time, we will find us to take us to contact the hotel staff. During the stay, I was ill. The little housekeepers also helped me find medicine and fruits, and now I still feel warm when I think of it! Besides the hotel facilities, the decoration style of Tamartha is not luxurious, but I found that as long as the room is comfortable, the exterior of the hotel is beautiful. Tamartha's beach is also a private beach, with a wealth of water items, snorkeling, paragliding, glass boat rowing boats, and the housekeeper will inform you in advance which items need an appointment. The beaches on the south shore are much cleaner than the east shores, and the sea surface is much calmer. The scenery is dominated by the setting sun. Lying on the beach in the calm afternoon and watching the evening is really pleasant. The main restaurant is a buffet. The theme is different every day. The Indian theme is my favorite. The local cuisine of wool ball is not delicious. The honeymoon meal was upgraded to an open-air French meal by the sea. This may be the biggest slot in the experience. The dishes did not like it and it caused me a fever. The hairball traffic is really expensive. When you take a taxi from the airport to the hotel, the driver has a fixed price. It thinks that it feels pitted, an hour's drive, 2200 rupees. If you don't plan to make a hotel, people who go out every day will still rent a car online. It's only 500 yuan a day. If you plan your trip, you must book a day trip from the Internet in advance. There may be no places when you set the ball. In order to save time, live in the south shore of the dolphins seven-colored earthen bird park. For the ball, driving time is the biggest benefit.

Experience a luxurious stay at the SO/ Mauritius. Designed by architect Lek Bunnag and decorated by designer Kenzo Takada, the hotel combines luxury and Zen ambience throughout the 84 rooms available. 6 suites and 2 villas are available as well. The hotel has all the amenities you could wish for from a 5-star experience such as pool, gym, spa, private beach, 2 gourmet restaurants and intimate bars. Mix exotic relaxation and business with our ephemeral meeting areas to host business or private events.

GGuest User 2020.02.01
The restaurant is average, and it is not suitable to like lively and popular Chinese people, so there may be more white customers in Europe and the United States, but we have to praise the service of the hotel. We caught up with the outing during the unusual period, and we have not heard of the outbreak of the new crown. As a result, the situation was pooping two days later. By the last day of our stay, I wanted to return to China. The situation was very serious. I walked to several pharmacies and didn't buy medical masks. So I tried to find a doctor's office. The staff's English is also relatively general. It should be mainly French. We communicated very poorly for a long time. The male doctors in the infirmary were older and they helped us call and ask which pharmacy had a mask. After confirming that they did not have one, they wrote it. Feng letter to the nurse station of the respiratory department of the local hospital, let us go to wear a mask, thank you very much for the upright male doctor and the local doctor. We went to the hospital for a half-day tour by car and got 12 valuable medical masks. After returning to the child with basic protection, I would like to thank the two local serious but friendly black doctors.

GGuest UserDuring this trip to Mauritius, I stayed in a total of 5 hotels, including the popular Prince Hotel and LUX Hotel Mont Monas, but the one with the best overall experience was the cheapest. Of course, its hardware facilities are not comparable to the first two. Compare. The hotel restaurant’s resident kittens are a big part of this. I hope the hotel can treat these kittens well.

KkimI arrived late at night and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. It is good for a honeymoon, but it is also good for a family trip. I visited with my wife on a family trip. It doesn't seem like the atmosphere you think of when you come for a honeymoon, but it is recommended if you don't care too much about room condition. I haven't tried other hotels or resorts, but the food at Sugar Beach is generally good. It's on the west side where you can see the sunset, so it takes about an hour from the airport. Casella, Chamarel, and Le Mont can all be reached within 30 minutes.

GGuest UserThe hotel was not what i expected from a 5 star. I believe that they are going to do renovations this year. I had half board and wanted to upgrade to all inclusive but they don’t offer all inclusive had I known this before, I wouldn’t have book at this hotel. So full board was and extra Rs8000 and you could only have 2 glasses of wine or two beers included. I can’t understand how the hotel can’t see that this encourages guests to purchase alcohol outside of the hotel. Anyways the bar staff were exceptional in making you feel welcome and really spoilt my daughter for her birthday. One in particular named Sahil. This guy is truly a diamond in the rough. Our time at the hotel was rainy weather but we still enjoyed it with people like Sahil around. Thank you!
