Hotels near Leopolda Station, Florence

We booked this hotel on Expedia with the option of pay at property. We emailed the hotel after booking to let them know we wouldn’t be arriving until about 9pm (their service desk is not open 24/7.) It took a couple of weeks to get a response but we were advised we would be given a code to let ourselves in to the building. We emailed again a couple of days before our arrival to remind the staff, we got a prompt response with full details, with entry code and room number. The staff also sent a separate email with a map attached so we would know how to get there from the train station. Our room was larger than expected, nice and clean with bottled water in the fridge. There is a common room where breakfast is served each morning. We did not pay for breakfast, but it was included anyway by the staff which is very thoughtful of them. There was croissants, pastries, cereals, yoghurts and juice. The hotel also has a little outdoor terrace with tables and chairs. We stayed from Monday 19th to Saturday 24th of August in room 6. Unfortunately my partner came ill very early Wednesday morning, he spent Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in bed all day. When I saw Catalina on Thursday in the common room, she asked how I was. I told her I was fine but my boyfriend was ill, I asked if it would be possible to have the bathroom cleaned and some fresh towels. She came to our room with a cleaner (after I had finished breakfast) and did a thorough job cleaning the room, even putting fresh bottled water in the fridge. She said she would have a look in her bag to see if she had any suitable medication for him, she didn’t, but then recommended a pharmacy for me to visit. She cleaned the room again on Friday, it was nice having the reassurance of a clean room as I didn’t want to get ill either. When Catalina did see my partner, she seemed genuinely concerned and asked him how he was. Checkout time is 10am. We were still eating our breakfast at this time. Catalina could see I was hurrying to eat it, she told me not to rush and ‘you’re on holiday’, this was really kind of her as in the hotel we are currently staying in, we were still eating at 11am one day and the staff asked us to leave (even though she was still clearing up and we would have only been 5 minutes more) There are some negative points: •The WiFi was poor, it was useless connecting to it, so I used my phones data instead. •The air con in the room was temperamental, it kept switching off and you couldn’t really feel the cold air unless you stood in front of it. •This isn’t the hotels fault at all, but is something to consider anyway. There is building work going on outside, from around 8am and carrying on gone 7pm. Even with ear plugs in, you could still hear the drilling and banging. We paid £388.39 for our stay which was reasonable. There is a little shop, Carrefour Express, just down the street. Booked the superior deluxe room and paid 640 for 3 nights plus 36 eu tax no breakfast. Room was nothing like superior let alone deluxe. I asked if it was what i booked the answer was of course! Just a normal economy room with a shower.No refrigerator in room but I asked for a kettle for hot water(providing my own coffee sachets)and it was provided. Soap in room is just 3 sachets of ”shampoo” .Towels were clean although very thin and hot water was very good. Pillows were so flat had to double them up .When asked for another pillow, manager said we don't have extra. A/c in room gets closed off or up to a certain temperature and when I asked not to switch off manager said they regulate the temperature themselves. It was 38 ° that weekend. People said you're not allowed to use the lift but we did and the owners didn't say anything. You don't always get what you pay for .

The hotel itself is no problem and the location is very convenient. The problem is that when booking a small European hotel in trip.com, many of them need to be similar to trip.com to communicate with the hotel clearly about the guest's stay. The hotel will communicate in advance how to complete the self-check-in and pay the local tax. However, trip.com will only be responsible for using their registration information to complete the low-cost reservation, and then transfer the high price to the guest, but it is easy to ignore the selfcheckin process before the guest checks in. The hotel does not know how to contact the guest, because the reservation information is a third-party agent. This journey took me an hour to communicate with the hotel many times in the rain to make up the check-in information and wait. Fortunately, the hotel is very helpful, but if there is a follow-up on the trip side and serves customers with ulterior motives, there will be no problem, it seems to be a problem for the hotel or the guest.

The guesthouse is extremely well furnished, the bedrooms are as good as advertised and the private bathroom was perfectly maintaned and cleaned. The guesthouse is located close to the main means of transportation such as buses and trams, therefore it is very easy and quick to reach the centre of Florence. The hosts are higly polite and ready to help you should you have any doubts or needs. I'd like to reccomend the place for its cleanliness, pretiness and price-quality ratio!

This was my first hostel experience on my own and it was soooo good! I felt very safe, staff super friendly, the room and common areas had everything you could ever need! Locker in the room was huge... I had enough space to keep all my things safe, but you need to bring your own padlock (maybe the hostel could make that clear on the booking? although I was prepared, another lady in the room was not ;)). Location great, very close to station (but far enough away that it wasn't a problem....), very close to the sites, restaurants and bars. I would happily return to an Ostello Bello! Grazie

Hotel Alinari is in a very convenient location just steps from Santa Maria Novella Station and only a short walk to the Central Market and numerous reasonably priced restaurants. It’s location might be off putting to some people as there is no huge lighted sign on the street telling you it’s there. You have to look for a much smaller sign in the street and elk into the ground level courtyard to see that it’s on the 4th floor. Take the elevator up to 4 but you might have to wait for it a bit. Patience pays off though as the proprietor and all of his staff are friendly and eager to help. Breakfast is substantial enough served by more friendly employees. Hotel Alinari provides good value in my opinion. Robert from Missouri USA

Very nice place to stay! They have clean rooms, helpful and friendly stuff and different extra activities like a swimming pool, bar, rooftop space and so on. I would recommend to add a breakfast to your booking because it’s fresh and delicious.

The front desk is very friendly. It is right next to the tram station. There is a Chinese restaurant nearby that tastes very good. There is a large supermarket nearby. The only problem is that the shower room has no door, or it has a problem with the operation. There is water all over the floor after taking a shower.

A fabulous hotel, from the excellent staff to the wonderful facilities and the location. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Particularly Roberto, Ariana and Simone. The spa is excellent, and although we only used the pool, it was a must after walking in the Florence heat in August! The hotel is a small distance from the old city, but we’d recommend the “members club”, which costs €10 per day per adult (over age 12). The mini trolley only takes 15 minutes-ish into town, and is a great way to get a feel for the city. Pick ups can be arranged at reception. Breakfast was good, and we had one of the adjoining apartments for a family of four. All the rooms and facilities are modern and clean, even if the shower is a bit quirky! Overall we would highly recommend Hotel Grifone. There is a sister hotel to the west of the old town where you are welcome to rest, use WiFi etc etc. Highly recommended.
