Hotel Suites Merlyn Airport

We came here for two nights after our flight home was cancelled as it was close to the airport. We did not have high expectations as we simply booked off of distance to th airport but we're blown away by how lovely this place is. As we were stranded by our airline we booked this very last min and sent them a message asking if we could drop off our luggage earlier than the check in time to save us having it with us all day and they replied saying no problem, and when we arrived they actually said the room itself was ready which we did not expect but we're very much grateful for! The room itself was great, good sizes comfortable beds wirh everything you could need from a serviced apartment. The grounds were lovely to walk around with lots of seating areas to chose from, a small gym and a good sized pool. We barely saw anyone else the entire time we were there which was surprising as we reserved the last room available. Breakfast was great, selection of hot cooked food, fruit, porridge and pastries etc. Lastly the service was great, upon a super early check out of 4am someone offered to be there for our check out and to assist in booking a cab should we struggle with an uber at that time of day

We stayed here for one night before flying out of San Jose. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms spacious (with a kitchen!), and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was fresh and lovely. They have mango and lime trees and we picked a delicious mango right off of the tree! Drive to the airport was about 15 minutes. It was great!

As part of our 71 day road trip around Costa Rice were loooking for a nice hotel to stay at before flying home. We use Hotels. com for all our accomodation requirements and this hotel appeared to have everything we needed, however there was availability for only one night instead of the 3 we normally book. We decided to book for the one night and enjoyed our stay so much that we booked a second night when there was availability. The hotel is close enough to the SJO Airport to use a taxi, although we still had our car. Daniella in reception saw our reservation and texted what time we were arrivng and had the gate open on our arrival. The room we were given was amazing, the best by far of the 17 hotels we had previously stayed in. It was ultra modern with a kitchen and couch to compliment the double beds. Daniella went out of her way to ensure that we had everything we needed. She is a credit to the establishment, spoke very good English and is extremely personable. We enjoyed the swimming pool and walked around the extensive gardens. There are a few pieces exercise equipment, but we didn't use. The next morning we enjoyed an excellent breakfast, lots of food choices, freshly cooked and delicious. I definitely recommend this hotel at the start, end and even during your stay in Costa Rica. Value for money it is excellent.
