Plainsman Motel

Friendly staff, extremely clean facilities and lovely amenities. I stayed at short notice with family. Our group booked several rooms and each were beautifully decorated and very well serviced. The motel is a short walk from the centre of the town and water. We tried the continental breakfast and found it delicious and great value for the price. The guest laundry was convenient and the rooms had good versions of the usual tea, coffee and biscuits. There was full sized crockery and cutlery, as well as a kettle, microwave and toaster. Staff were welcoming and accommodating and I would definitely recommend staying here if travelling to Forbes.

We had a very comfortable bed and everything we needed. They had the best biscuits available and a well equipped kitchenette., including knives,forks and spoons. Good sized coffee mugs, not cups. They even had real milk, not uht in stupid little pods

This is a big Motel with about 40+ rooms(est.), a dining room catering for breakfast and a bar area that wasn't in use when we visited. According to the Owner / Manager it suffered badly from the floods last year and every room had to be renovated and they did a great job. Our room was quite large and was well supplied with all the usual goodies.When we visited it was obvious straight away that this is a very well run facility, the rooms were spotless, the presentation of the whole area was clean, tidy and well maintained. It is situated opposite the local RSL. A good quality buffet style Continental breakfast is served in the dining room each day and believe it or not the charge is $9.00 per person,yep thats not a misprint, $9.00.

Wonderful Location and single story. Shower is larger than most and water is very hot. The bathroom itself is big enough with a good size sink but only one can be in there at a time. The shower dripped (wasting water) and the cement on the riser in the floor of the shower leaked and made the mat at the sink awfully wet. We were able to use the extra towel as a mop. The carpark is a good size and you are able to get around to your room using the ‘one way’ rule. Parking is right at your door. Club Forbes is across the road and has lovely meals. Bakery is also over the road, and although we didnt eat there, it seemed popular. The rooms were very comfortable, extra pillows and blankets were supplied. The mattress was firm and comfortable. Pillows seemed to be varied in preference from soft to firm. Room was very clean, even in spots that other people might not check (i do). Helpful having the Key return at reception on the way out. Even though it was located on the Newell Highway and opposite the club, it was quiet. A service station is only 3 doors away, so you can fill up as you leave. Our room was $155 - queen with single. Very spacious. Bar fridge. Microwave and tea and coffe making . Toaster cups, plates, cutlery

The location of this Motel is perfect, walking distance into town and Forbes lake. The Forbes Club is directly across the road plus the Roundabout Cafe Is across the road as well. The motel was affected by the flooding but have done up the rooms with new flooring and bedding. I highly recommend the Plainsman

Stayed in a budget room in what was a very popular motel that night. Room was clean, aircon worked and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Place is centrally located and I didn’t notice any traffic noise either! Tip for new players, if you want to charge back to the motel from the Club over the road you need a card or voucher from reception verifying who you are apparently. I didn’t get caught out but heard it happen to another guest I was travelling with.

My daughter was stationed here to assist with relief nursing so I took the opportunity to visit her.I enjoyed the hotel it was well located within walking distance from town centre and adjacent to lake. Parking was easy. The hotel room was quite spacious, it was modern and clean and very comfortable.I absolutely enjoyed my stay.The manger was very kind also

These guys have been through hell. Flood waters just a few weeks back inundated the whole place and thousands of local kilometers. The owners were helpful and friendly and the room was perfect for myself and my three teenage boys. And the location was spot on. After 10 nights under canvas on a 4,280km roadtrip across NSW, VIC, and the ACT having a bed was very welcome! A beautifully refreshing swimming pool was appreciated as well! Hope you guys manage to recover from the devastation inflicted on you.

Motor inn style place with a swimming pool and plenty of parking. We had the two bedroom apartment which was huge. The manager was super friendly as soon as we arrived and couldn’t do enough for us. Beds were comfortable and apartment was clean and well maintained. We only stayed overnight but could easily stay a week with the kitchen, laundry and full size fridge. Will definitely stay here again when we are back in Forbes. I hope they are safe from the flooding right now.
