We had a friendly welcome in reception and found our rooms spotless, very well equipped and pleasant. They were not particularly big, but were singles and had all that was needed, The (double) beds in particular were very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good and provided an excellent choice. Staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. For anyone with mobility issues, there is no lift but I believe help was available with luggage if requested. The rooms had walk-in showers.

We were looking for accommodation in the Lochaber area as a base for a kayaking weekend, and Corran bunkhouse fit the bill perfectly. Everything is good quality, and the rooms are clean and functional - ours had a nice ensuite too. There is a large common room with comfy seating and a log burner which was a nice place to relax, but we usually ended up sitting in the communal dining kitchen. The kitchen had everything you could need to make from snacks to big meals, and there was plenty of food storage and fridge space. Plenty of space to sit and eat too. A really big plus was the two drying rooms, one off the kitchen which had a dehumidifier, and another outside, which allowed lots of wet gear to be dried quickly - a real bonus if you're there for a few days. The owner Alan couldn't be more helpful, and gave us tips on the best places to eat wherever we were going. I can thoroughly recommend getting the ferry over to Ardgour to the pub for food. A minute from the bunkhouse, its free for foot passengers, the crossing takes about 5 minutes, and is a nice way to go to dinner. Overall i cant recommend the place highly enough. A modern, clean and enjoyable place to spend a night or two.

We stayed for 2 nights for our wedding. The team helped on all accounts and the rose petals and champagne were the icing on the cake. The lodge we had was lodge 1, we were very private ,with trees to one side meaning no one was over looking us. The lodge was immaculate, high standard of finish throughout. The view was perfect for us, sunshine with a wee breeze and the midges really with the wood burner on as dusk came no bother to us . “Smidge” was included and we both used that before we ventured out, very helpful. I cannot fault the woodlands set up, if I am really looking to find anything maybe some throws to use would be nice to sit out later. Oh worth noting if you want some music do take a Bluetooth speaker as we didn’t want the projector and screen on but still wanted some music when watching rh view and sunset . The projector was fab though later and just casts whatever is on your phone no app or anything needed to use.

What a lovely place! I've stayed here with my daughter on the way to Skye and this was a real gem to find. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warm and friendly staff, who made us feel right at home. Their genuine hospitality added a personal touch to our stay, making it even more special. The rooms were comfortable, with a cozy atmosphere that perfectly complemented the hotel's charming surroundings. We slept soundly and woke up up refreshed and ready for the journey ahead. We had dinner in the bar, which was perfect for us and the delicious breakfast set us off for the rest of the day. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed the large lawn outside and at the banks of the loch. Will be definitely stopping again, hopefully for longer to explore the area some more.

This hotel is a very cozy and small hotel that probably qualifies as bed & breakfast except that their restaurant is also open for dinner to the general public. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a radiator for heating (and cooling). The bathroom was nice and clean. I think the water may have been naturally sourced, given its color, but that's not an issue and drinking water was provided in the room. You should remove your shoes and use the provided slippers. Bathrobes were also provided. The food for dinner and breakfast was very good. Everything was very fresh and of the highest quality, beautifully prepared and delicious. The atmosphere is great, and I especially liked the paintings displayed in the breakfast room. We only stayed one night but this was easily the best hotel experience we had while traveling there.

We stayed for 1 night in August 2024. We were a family grouping of seven adults and older children and we booked one of the four bed “beach houses” with hot tub adjacent to the hotel. We paid £630 for the one night which was a special deal on the website, reduced from the original price of £750. I still don’t think that was good value for money. The Holly Tree describes itself as a luxury hotel. It’s not luxurious. It’s good to nice. I’ve been fortunate to have travelled around the world with my job and on holidays and stayed in many luxury hotels so I know what that means. The beach houses are new and yes, they have nice en-suite bathrooms and are modern and clean, but they lack the “wow factor” and small details to be classed as luxury. The outdoor hot tub wasn’t sheltered in any way so with a Force 8 gale blowing and torrential rain, it was basically unusable on the night we stayed. In such an exposed location, it’s pointless have hot tubs with no weather protection of any kind. The hotel itself is OK but again, it’s really pushing it to describe it as luxury. The restaurant looks tired and the bar was mostly full of restaurant style tables and chairs crammed in with maybe 3 sofas, when I was hoping for something a bit more comfortable and cosy. We had dinner in the hotel and the food was good quality. Service was pretty good too. So overall, I don’t think it was value for money that we paid. The beach house was very nice but not luxury standard and the hotel itself needs a makeover. It’s trading on its location too much.

A fantastic experience. The breakfast was great and the view of Loch Linnie was awesome. And a special thanks to the hostess for packing up ”food to go” since we had to catch an early morning train to Glasgow. A lovely place to stay for sure. We stayed for two nights and they promptly cleaned the room every day. The room was very spacious and very comfortable stay. The hospitality of this place is great. Would love to be back here again and experience the stay at Torlinnhe Guest House.

SSIMONPrices start at £4 or £5 per night... This is an old castle hotel on the west side of the Scottish Highlands. From a common area point of view everything is well done and impeccable. But from the point of view of the rooms...the price/performance ratio is obviously super low. The facilities are outdated, so I asked for a humidifier... A hair dryer that was produced 20 years ago came, which was completely unacceptable and had no humidifying effect at all. The shower room has very strict requirements on the size of the guests, and I personally feel that the water pressure can be further improved and improved. The laudable point is that the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap in the bathroom...all have two ball royal certifications, and the quality is also carried. The cold and hot water device of the washbasin is a traditional separate type, which is the kind of water that you either use cold water or hot water, and it cannot be warm water anyway. The sofa in the guest room is made of fabric. The disadvantage is that you can't see whether it has lice or whether it is clean. Anyway, it is so old that people don't want to sit on it at all. The carpet is lint-free, which means it's ”aged”. Well, let's talk about the public area: the restaurant's production is still quite standard, with Michelin standards, whether it's dinner or breakfast... It's pretty good, but the quality of the coffee is not good. The service staff are warm, courteous, serious and smiling. There are several casual living rooms and even dining rooms in the indoor public area, all of which are luxurious, comfortable, freehand, and comfortable, and there is nothing to fault. There are a large number of areas in the outdoor woods and paths that need to be improved, such as greening projects. One last thing to add: parking is free. After all, the owner, Mr. Chai, is a Chinese from Southeast Asia. The land of the ancient castle covers an area of 5,000 acres... If parking charges are required... it would be too stingy. In general...you can say that it is an ancient European style, but I personally think that the ancient European style does not necessarily need to update or refresh the facilities and furniture. Especially with such a large area, if the greening is not done well... it really responds to the old saying ”gold and jade are outside, and there is nothing in it”.

GGuest UserI booked this hotel after a cancellation at another hotel in Fort William, and I found it last minute. Quite exciting staying at a new hotel! Firstly, the plus points: a very friendly welcome, and the lady on reception at check out was very friendly too. Also, the rooms are really stylish and spotless, and some very tasty biscuits are provided. However, I was left disappointed by a few things. Firstly, despite the stylish appearance of the room, it lacked some cosyness - it felt like a cross between a Premier Inn and student digs. On that subject, there was a group of quite noisy students staying there the evening I was there. This wouldn't normally bother me, but you could hear everything from the corridor, even though I was staying at the far end. So, lots of knocking on doors until 11pm at night and from about 6am the following morning. I also found the service at the bar to be quite mixed. The guy working was very friendly, but the lady I was greeted by came across as if she didn't want to be there...no smile or anything! Finally, you can't watch live TV in the rooms. It may be 2023, but, if I want to watch TV on an evening, just turning it on and having channels available would be good. Unfortunately, I had to connect my tablet to a different WiFi code and cast...and not many of the streaming services allow you to cast live TV. In time, I'm sure the hotel will be great, and maybe I'll go again...maybe!

GGuest UserIt is a very old hotel, the hotel should be refurbished, just fine. However, there is no elevator, which is a bit inconvenient. The hotel is very tasteful. I feel that I can take a good look at the stairs. The windows all have a little history, but they are still clean. The toilet is very light, it is not bad. Because I saw the evaluation before going to the general, I felt that it was worth it. The restaurant is very good, the price is OK, the sirlion steak is super delicious, staying in the UK for so long, is the best sirloin I have ever eaten, I ordered the medium rare, superb, the chef is very good. Hey, I also saw the black cat in the hotel, very cute. It feels like a good experience, and the breakfast buffet is also excellent.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Factors Inn for 5 nights, we used it as a base for travelling, from there we visited Oban, Malaig and Skye, overall we were quite happy with our stay, we had a superior room with a lovely big comfortable bed, tea coffee making facilities a sofa, coffee table and not a bad sized TV it was dog friendly this is great for us and our dog, you can catch a bus just outside on the main road into Fort William or use the local A&A reliable taxi service that we used a couple of times, the only negatives I can think of are the the Bathroom was quite dated, but having said that it didn’t affect our stay, and at check in we were asked if we would like to book breakfast at the Castle but they do NOT allow dogs in the Castle so we declined, had a delicious breakfast and evening meals just within 10/15 min walk along the cycle/walk path just across the road from Factors to the Golf club/Caddy Shack restaurant & Bar thats ran by a lovely couple that can’t do enough for you. Overall our stay was a nice one and we would go back and stay there.
