We stayed at Hyde hotel, in Galway, and realized that it was another one of those great location hotels. It’s walking distance from Ceannt Train station which was great for us since this was our first trip. It was nice not to roll our luggage across the whole city just to get to our place. It seems like it's in the quieter part of town even though there's a few bars in the area. If you walked down passed Eyre Square on William St. towards the latin quarter its very lively but not everyone may be into that while they're trying to sleep. Upon arrival, since we were early, the hotel allowed us to leave our luggages there while we took a walk around town. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. One time, on our way back from an outing, we realized that we ran out of their complimentary coffee/milk/sugar. We went to the front desk and asked for them and within minutes the same desk attendant went to our room and personally delivered them to us. Our room had an enclosed patio, covered in tropical foliage (obviously not real) that brought in a cozy vibe. I don't believe that they have air condition, we didn't have any in our room. But, open the glass sliding door and bring in the fresh air, again this is Ireland and AC wasn't a big deal to us. The weather in Galway was sunny all week but it wasn't crazy warm that we needed air condition like in the states. By the way, we stayed on the second floor which was convenient if we wanted to take the stairs instead of the elevator. They have a nice restaurant that was also recommended by our tour bus driver. We also ended up booking a tour, Kylemore Abbey and Leenane, and the tour meetup was at our hotel, perfect!! This is a great hotel to stay in, there's a couple of stores across the street to stock up on essentials that you may need. We will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Great Hotel. Wondeful staff at every level...some lazy but everyone is human. Very responsive to guest needs and requests. Food is excellent in all areas especially breakfast. Receptionists are beautiful, friendly, and helpful with real Galway accents and welcome..not the fake programmed accents common in other places. This hotel keeps up consistent standards over my many visits.

Our stay here was at the end of the trip and our second time in Galway. It’s an excellent location - just a 5 min or so walk from Eyre Square and a good place to stay if you’re going on one of the ferries. The room size was as expected and comfortable for 2 people. The breakfast is cooked to order and done very well. If you need a bus, it’s on a main line for one that goes to Eyre Square/Salthill. Above all, the atmosphere is welcoming. Will definitely stay there on future trips.

We waited here in the past & we were very happy with the hotel but this time it disappointing. It was understaffed & the room we got was tiny for a family, you could hardly move in it!! Outside, the tables had empty bottles & glasses that were never collected while we were there & we were sitting over two hours. We waited a long time to get served food in the bar area & we had reserved our booking. The bedroom had no air con & it was very warm to sleep in. The pool was lovely & was the highlight! After what we paid for the room I expected more! If we paid less then fair enough, but our room was nearly €240 for one night which is a lot for what we got. Wouldn’t wait here again unless we got it cheaper or the room was alot better.

The deciding factor in choosing this hotel is free parking. Facts have proved to be very wise. What is surprising is that the hotel facilities are very sophisticated and the breakfast is delicious, especially the smoked salmon. About 30 minutes walk to the town, the hotel reception lady is beautiful and enthusiastic, and helped us book a 2017 Michelin restaurant to eat raw oysters. It was great, and it would be difficult to eat without a reservation.

It was a hotel I stayed to go to Galway.
The traditional Irish roof houses were also nearby, so the atmosphere was different.
Breakfast included in the hotel is not young.
I'm not sure if I'm going to be in Ireland.

Everything was great in this hotel, from check in to check out. Friendly staff, comfortable warm quiet bedroom and great leisure centre. Breakfast was great, lovely fresh strawberries and raspberries! Brown sliced bread would be welcome though. I would recommend this hotel and I will be back.

GGuest UserGlenlo Abbey is the perfect place for a relaxing stay. Beautiful olde worlde atmosphere...open fires and inviting lounges. Excellent food and efficient friendly staff....could not find fault in any aspect! Lovely 9 hole golf course on site run by pro Gary. He is very welcoming as are his staff and I would highly recommend a round on this well kept and interesting course. Overall....a wonderful hotel with top class staff. No hesitation in recommending this most lovely establishment to all my friends.! A little gem on the wild atlantic way!
GGuest UserWhat a lovely location, a gorgeous hotel and the swimming pool was great with the added bonus of an outside hot tub overlooking the sea. My room was 631 with a large king bed, desks, adequate bathroom with bath and shower, seats with table, desk and TV and all the usual facilities in a hotel room. No sockets by the bed though which is something all hotels need to have now but that was the only criticism of the room.
Staff where lovely, helpful and friendly although I give 4 stars as check-in didnt happen for 10 minutes due to no staff being at the reception, no idea why but it got sorted OK.
The hotel is clean, the room was clean, well presented and very welcoming. I had breakfast which was the normal cooked breakfast buffet, toasts, pancakes, breads, cereals, tea or coffee, juices with plenty of seating options and a view of the sea. The staff were great, the food was good and the atmosphere relaxed. The view gives you a great start to the day.
I used the pool which was great. Some families there with kids, a swimming lane, working steam room, sauna and heated jacuzzi. The outside hottub is amazing. It is a must do at this hotel. It was raiing on my stay so the outside tennis court and kids play area werent being used but its worth a mention that they have these.
Location feels remote but its only 5-10 minutes from Salthill and Galway by car. There is a petrol station beside the hotel on the main road and a small village. I guess you access the hotel by car, taxi or bus.
GGuest UserWe were there for 2 nights. Lovely staff, friendly and seemed happy going about their work. The only negative comment I can make is that the walk from the lift to my room was very dated and dark. The room itself had everything we needed and was clean. Comfortable beds and pillows. I would stay at this hotel again.
GGuest UserWe had been to a family christening at Tully Cross where we had spent two nights. Having stopped and had lunch in Galway a few months before the outbreak of covid we had decided that we would like to have a stop over the next time we passed through and as we were to pick up and later drop off a hire car it was ideal. We made the booking at the Skeffington Arms online a couple of months before. From arriving on the Monday to leaving on the Wednesday we were made to feel very welcome. The location was ideal for us being very central and within walking distance of the coach station for our return journey to Dublin Airport. Our room was a very good size and with the weather we were experiencing the air conditioning in our was most welcome. From our arrival to our departure the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We would have liked to have stayed longer but due to work commitments this wasn't possible. A very enjoyable stay, over too soon. Steve and Linda from West Yorkshire
GGuest UserHave to say this little bar is a hidden gem in the city. Nice selection of food and the bar staff are so welcoming and friendly. Had a pork belly dinner. Drink selection where great and good Guinness . I wish I got the name of the staff that where working on Thursday 19th but it was 2 guys and a girl. I will be back again. Do not miss this spot.
GGuest UserLocated just behind Eyre Square in a quiet street. A nice welcome on reception. It was made clear that reception wasn’t manned all the time, but we were given a contact number if we needed anything. Our room was nice at the top of very narrow stairs. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. Shower was good. Everything very clean. We were at the back of the property with no view (not a problem for us). This had the bonus of very little street noise. Didn’t hear anything from other rooms, only those arriving and departing. Air conditioning was available, but we didn’t need it. Tea and coffee facilities were provided. Fresh towels were delivered every day. No breakfast at the property, but discount available at restaurant next door. It looked very nice, but we didn’t take up the offer. A lovely relaxing stay. Would recommend.
GGuest UserBooking without knowledge of the city or facility is always a shot in the dark. The Ardilaun has great atmosphere and the staff was wonderful! The room was clean and they have rooms for pets with a special outdoor area. It is great to have a nice place to stay with our dog! The front desk checked us in and walked us to our room, the bar staff was helpful and the service was also very good. The only issue I had and this was minuscule in terms of our stay… the breakfast that was included was subpar. There was a nice continental area that may suit most fine, but the hot ordered breakfast could use some improvement. The pancakes were cold and hard, like they had been prepared ahead of time and one of our omelettes was very much overcooked. All in all, I would recommend a stay at the Ardilaun…stick with the continental portion of the breakfast. Both the continental and hot were included in our stay, so again, wasn’t a huge factor. I would book here again.
ZZONGWEIThe hotel is right next to the bus station, the El Square is just across the road, there is a visitor center across the road, and there is a question to ask directly. We are going to Asford Castle the next day. The staff at the visitor center helped us check the bus time and booked a taxi for us. The hotel's facilities are very distinctive, the interior is old-fashioned, the beds are old, similar to our beds of the 780s, but very clean. The entire hotel room is partially filled with the smell of disinfectant. The hotel breakfast was delicious and the rest were average.
