Location is great, close to Armenian street. Room was big. Hotel has two floors and no elevator. Lobby is cozy.

Nice hotel located in the old town heritage district. Was very clean, but noisy at night, it sounded like there was a night club near by.

Nice location just around the street art with many cafes.  Hotel room is clean with friendly staffs. 

The lady day front desk is super helpful and nice , room is totally good decoration, meanwhile there are two cons ; no chill or refrigerator for drinks in such a hot weather condition which is the common weather for whole year at penang, and secondary is the air condition position is too high from the bed, the hotel has tried to add the fan to work with Air condition to chill the room temperature but it didn’t work properly.

Good location easy to every landmark

It’s my second stay at Spices, a restored heritage shophouse hotel with nine rooms. With complimentary coffee and tea as well as a library, the two lounge areas are a peaceful place to relax and unwind after a day of gallivanting, exploring, and eating your way through Georgetown’s bustling markets. It’s in an ideal central location while also being down a quiet street, so there’s not much noise, even if your room is street side. There is a mosque nearby though, so light sleepers will have an early wake up. Thank you to the friendly staff for accommodating me again.

A cool little hotel near both China & India town. Near to the ferry for Butterworth. Comfortable bed and pleasant staff.

My room is right beside a small alley and freaking MOSQUE nearby that was not visible.. poor sound insulation and I suffered a sleepless night….

Run away! ! We booked 330 for a day on Saturday and Sunday, and the place was like living under a bridge. The six loud speakers of the mosque next to us started at 6 am, and there was a bar next to us that started at 1 am and ended at 4 am with a bunch of people laughing and getting drunk! ! I was really speechless 😓 I have never stayed in such a bad hotel in my life. In addition, the hotel did not have slippers to enter barefoot, and there were no slippers even in the bathroom, which meant that I stepped on the dust and went straight to the stained bed 😁

Great hotel. The room is small and very cozy, stylish interior with thoughtful details, there is a kettle, two cups, and a TV. The water pressure in the shower is excellent. In terms of soundproofing, it is a little noisy in the evening, since there is a cafe downstairs, but at night, in the morning and during the day it is always quiet. The location is excellent, right in the center and within walking distance of attractions. Wi-Fi connection is stable and fast. I recommend.

The hotel looks good, and the air is filled with natural fragrance. The sound insulation is not good. Someone was talking on the phone outside the wooden window in the early morning, and it lasted for a long time.

I originally wanted to experience a hotel with a nostalgic atmosphere, but the pictures looked good, and the photos looked good... Who knew... It was even simpler than the Seven Days in China. Remember, there were no slippers, and it was a bit like a rough room. I just decorated it, and then I didn't know if it was a Muslim the next morning. On prayer days, sutras are read and recited very loudly at five, six and seven o'clock each time. It's so noisy that I can't sleep because there is a mosque nearby. I didn't know it would be like this. Otherwise, I definitely wouldn't choose a hotel near the mosque. ⋯Please choose carefully! All in all it was a very bad experience!
