Fantastic stay. Clean and huge 3 bedroom + 2 toilets Has a total of 4 Queen bed and 1 single bed. Fitted with a kitchen with filtered water from the tap, fridge, stove and microwave. Daily cleaning. Cons Hotel is at level 2 of shophouse, no lift. Need to climb stairs. No hotel lobby. U would need to inform hotel in advance arrival timing for the staff to wait for u outside your room. Else u can call them when u reach. Takes abt 2 mins for staff to walk over. Make sure u have autoroaming!

Amazingly located in the center of Georgetown, but was a bit difficult to locate the lobby. As it is not at under the shophouses, luckily bumped into the staff who just happen to be walking towards the rooms.

Location is fantastic. Near to the GAMA mall. It provides Netflix, toothbrush, slippers, etc... Room configuration: (1) King Bed (2) 1 Queen 1 Sgl (3) 2 Queens. Spacious with living room and a big kitchen equipped with kettle, microwave, washer cum dryer and fridge. However, its cleanliness was in doubt. We stayed in the bedroom with ensuite toilet. The room smelled, so we had to leave the door open throughout the night. On top of that, our bed also smelled quite badly. The shower screen moved out of its alignment and it does look dangerous. Upon arrival, they gave us a card and stated wifi password and next day check out date. 1. Wifi Password was wrong 2. Check out date was also wrong Whatsapped them, they provided a new password and confirmed my check out date is 2 days later. Come next day, we couldn't enter the apartment as pin number for the lock was not valid anymore. So the whole group of elderly and children got to wait for someone to come and reset the pin. Asked what went wrong, they simply said system error. No apologies given. I couldn't change hotel midway too as I had paid for 2 nights and moving 4 elderly + 3 children to another hotel at the last minute during June school holiday is no joke. While the minor inconveniences were resolved eventually, I do not think I will stay here again as cleanliness and safe amenities are important to me.

I have booked three hotels with phc group. I stayed at Magazine, Macallum, and Macalister for a total of three days. The hotels of this group are all on the second floor of the old neighborhood. It's not noisy. The quality of the house in the old building itself is not good. It is still on the second floor and facing the street. The noise is the same as sleeping on the road. The elderly and children stayed up almost all night. So moved from one to another. From one room to another. Macalister is not only noisy but also very humid. The air conditioner is very loud. You can't turn on the air conditioner when sleeping. It's so noisy that you can't sleep. Moreover, the air conditioner in the master bedroom will blow the wind on the bed. By the way, the entire room is centrally air-conditioned. Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary to visit the main part of the old town. It won’t be good for rest.

The hotel is a bit like a B&B. It is very big and very clean. It has a kitchen and a washing machine. Although there is no counter, if you need anything, you can be notified by What's app and you will come within five minutes (it is a big plus for me to have a washing machine in the room. Penang is very Hot, need to change and wash a lot of clothes) Except for the floor being a little mottled, there are no hand towels in the bathroom. Overall, it is a great room. Our family of five lived very comfortably and loved it. The location is close to the bus station, night market, and famous attractions. It’s not far, the only drawback is that every morning at 5 or 6 o’clock, I will be woken up by the sound of chanting sutras diagonally opposite😅

We decided to book this place because of its location. It’s very central to Penang Rd, grocery stores, malls and bust station. Staff was very nice. Hotel was very accommodating when I had an issue with my check in date. I’m grateful for their help and co-operation. However, this location is very noisy. The two front rooms are directly facing Jalan Magazine, and it’s 24 hours of traffic non-stop. If you can sleep through anything. Great. Not for light sleepers. The 3rd room faces the back of the unit and was much quieter. Unit was clean, but could have been cleaned in more detailed better. Dust and some funky smell towels when we arrived. Also, daily house keeping only meant changing towels, replenishing toilet paper. I thought they would at least clean the floors of hair and dust. Or even clean the bathrooms. Overall, the staff try hard to make your stay comfortable BUT for myself I would have preferred if they cleaned better.

There was no on site staff so we had to call and wait about 10 minutes before the staff came to check us in. The premises were an entire upper floor apartment and were huge and spacious. Good value in terms of space. The premises were very clean as well. Service staff was polite and helpful. Location is good as it is near a mall and many eateries. However there were some minor blips. Access to the premises is given through a passcode with no card or key. Hence it felt a little unsafe. Initially, the fridge wasnt working and the smoke detector beeped. These were fixed rather efficiently. However the safe wasnt working and could not be fixed while we were there. The premises were right above a major main road hence traffic sounds can be heard faintly throughout the day and night.
