This hotel is pretty new, comfortable, clean and located in the heart of the city. Next to the hotel is one of the famous biscuits shop in Penang. However, the better biscuits is “Him Heang” which is not far away from hotel too. Within walking distance you can get to many eateries, convenience shops and cafes. However, be careful of durian stalls near the hotel. Always check and confirm final prices before buying/eating. Should try local Penang durian varieties like green skin, hor lor, ang he, etc which are cheaper (less than RM60 per kg depend on the daily price) and nice too. Musang king and black thorn are overrated, super expensive and you might not get the real one. If you can walk, it’s easy to walk around the city to enjoy Penang. Else, it is very easy to take a Grab to tour the city with reasonable fare. It is an enjoyable stay for me because the hotel staff took the initiative to decorate my room with balloons and cake to celebrate my birthday. I appreciate the gesture very much. It was a pleasant surprise because I didn’t request the hotel to decorate the room. So, thank you!

We came early and they check us in straight away. The room was big and spacious. Very near to eateries too. I would love to stay here again when i’m back in Penang

The hotel.was overall okay. Good large rooms, new and well kept. The mattress was not soft and luxurious. The room.had some small bugs and i was bitten by one. The restaurant was below average. Quote poor quality and definitely not worth wasting the time.l money.and experience on.

quite expensive for what you get. also got some smell when entered the toilet when I got back to the room

Got a room with issue for shower drainage, shakey decorative beam and a fallen curtain bar… connecting room have smoke smell. Hotel manager did a recovery service on the same day and issue a new room… walking distance to nightmarket and food just downstairs

It is probably my 3rd or 4th time staying with Courtyard and the hotel’s service and amenities just kept getting worser.
Shortened my stay during my last trip due to tv issue which wasn’t rectified after a day and the receptionist lied to us saying that the whole penang’s tv is down but we called another hotel to check on that and it is apparently just courtyard’s having issue. No apology nothing.
This stay, for a 3 night stay, we changed our room twice with our last room being #1905. There is this sewage smell just lingering around and could not be rectified by the engineering team for #1621. It comes every now and then and it is really dampening our stay. Even after the supposedly checks by the team as assured by the duty manager on the phone before shifting to #1905, the toilet seat was not fixed properly. Sewage smell is back next morning. But we were just too lazy to shift any more rooms nor waste our time with it.
We love the location and the food at the restaurant but the hotel is a hit or miss now. Really disappointing..
