The hotel is a pure ryokan. The hotel staff arrived at 7pm. The hotel staff immediately prepared dinner. The service was very good. They also gave us Spring Festival gifts. The stay in Mutsumikan was very good. The Hotel (Ryokan) is very close to the train station. To the center of Gero it takes roundabout 5 minutes by foot. The experience seemed very authentic. Most of the staff understand basic english, so communication was never an issue. Our room was very clean and tidy. Everything you need for a 2 night trip was there. The outdoorbath was pretty small, but that was never an issue with the amount of people staying there. Breakfast and dinner were in a japanese style and very tasty, but maybe not to everyone's palate. Overall the stay was pretty good and I would stay there again.

If you go up the road between the parking lot and the main building, there is a souvenir street, which is convenient.
