Hotel Carlton Reviews

The hotel is conveniently located right next to the train station and is within walking distance to the historic center. My room was very spacious and quiet with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is small but had everything I needed. However, the water pressure to the shower is quite low. All of the hotel staff were friendly, personable, and helpful in providing recommendations and advice during my stay. My biggest complaint was that service during breakfast was excruciatingly slow. The hotel appeared to be understaffed in the morning. The server in the breakfast area was also in charge of the lobby and helped out in the kitchen. When I initially arrived to the breakfast area, it was busy and there were no staff anywhere to direct me. I chose a table and sat down. After 10 minutes, a hotel staff came and took my order for hot food. It took 45 minutes for the kitchen to make my omelette with a side of potatoes. I had finished eating the cold dishes from the breakfast bar area and was just sitting at my table waiting for my omelette/potatoes. I had a flight to catch that morning and ended up being late for my train because I spent so long waiting for my breakfast. When my omelette finally arrived 45 minutes after placing the order, it was slightly undercooked. Several other tables were also wondering when their order for hot food would be ready since it took so long. My experience during breakfast definitely took away from my overall satisfaction with the hotel.
