Clean beach view

Pleasant and welcoming hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The location is very good, with the beach just accross the road and lots of restaurants and bars within an easy walk and the bus stop to Taormina nearby. Our room was ok but a little bit boxy with limited outside space, also next to the lift. Unfortunately I didn't sleep well here - maybe the acoustics but there always seemed to be noise - sometimes doors banging but also several times I was woken up after midnight by the sound of a ladies' heels on the hard corridor floor - maybe a member of staff and perhaps should wear quiet shoes to avoid waking up guests. Anyway, the breakfast was good with lots of nice fruit juice, homemade cakes and beautiful Sicilian peaches and other fruits. Not sure if the beauty salon at the top was open or not - we tried to enter but door was locked and at reception they said it is fully booked for our whole stay but there are no price lists etc so not sure what is going on. Also, the bar had some very nice looking local spirits, eg Sicilian gin, which we would have liked to try but no-one ever seemed to be serving drinks so we just went elsewhere. They have a lovely outside area at the front and I feel could make more of the bar, eg. a happy hour at 6 or 7 would be a nice idea.
