Econo Lodge Dockside Glenelg

A great central location. Very comfortable. My only complaint is that there is no light in the external staircase next to the linen store room. It’s dangerous if you come home after dark as you can’t see the stairs. Otherwise, a neat and tidy hotel . Thanks

Comfy bed, and nice room but the follow up of the following day for cleaning as in cups glasses and wiping down the bathroom … not done. We stayed three nights … two mornings no hot water. Contacted reception…by phone as there are never anybody around to talk to…….very polite but no further contact to let you know that is was fixed. Two attempts and third day we had a hot shower. Not good enough. Will never stay again

Stay started with an easy check in process sent via text before stay. Conveniently located in Glenelg, close to airport and local attractions. Room was clean, bathroom outdated but worked fine. Breakfast pack a bonus! Comms from hotel staff A+, plenty of info on how to contact them if required. Free car parking a bonus!

Our north facing room was generally clean but severe carpet damage caused by sun fade. Not vacuumed? Also no toaster in every room, if you were lucky you got when checking in. Service was excellent. Across the road from park and pub.

The place is in a great location in Glenelg, 2 blocks from Jetty Road and all that is offered. Free open car parking and definitely at a budget price. The rooms are clean and the beds comfy. The bathrooms on the other hand is a complete different story. 70’s style shower in the bath, painted bathroom tiles and maintenance is certainly not a priority. Paint peels, taps leak, the particle laminated bench tops split and chipped and coming off the walls. But you get what you paid for, it’s just disappointing that simple maintenance is lacking. The staff are very pleasant and more than willing to help on every occasion. They just work here though.

Great location and value for money - staff helpful before trip and throughout. The receptionist, Jannah located a microwave and toaster for us -another member of staff even lent us her own brolly in a thunderstorm . If you want a basic, clean large room with central location you can't go wrong. Comfy bed and pilkows. Hairdryer powerful. If you want upmarket extras then pay double and go elsewhere.

You cannot beat the location. The airport buses arrive just 100m away and it is a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and the tram to the city (direct to the main railway station). My room had the usual facilities (including fridge) and was at a reasonable price. However, maintenance had fallen behind (overgrown accessway, light switches not working), and vacuuming of floor was not done with cleaning.

The rooms were fine. Small and dark however it was very cheap so you get what you paid for. What annoyed me most was that we arrived to the hotel at 12. We were told we could pay $60 to have the room then and there but if we didn’t want to pay $60 the room wasn’t ready - which seemed a) contradictory and b) just petty. Hotels you stay it which are much nicer will just allow you to enter the room 2 hours earlier if a room is available whereas this place, even though the room was clearly available - because if we paid $60 it was going to be - they were too petty to just allow us access to it. It’s not like we asked at 7am?! We were two hours earlier than check in time… What made it weirder was when we said we weren’t going to pay $60 she said well here’s the key but just don’t go in your room until 2pm. It was all very odd. Other staff members there were lovely and I feel if we dealt with a happy one we would’ve not had this issue.

This hotel is very well located. Just across the road is the marina and all that Glenelg has to offer is within a couple of hundred metres in either direction. You don’t pay a lot for this hotel and as a consequence you don’t really get a lot. The room was secure and relatively clean. Our room was up some poorly lit stairs. The shower was over the bath and used a flimsy shower curtain. The showerhead had an annoying habit of shooting water out sideways and hitting you in the face as you turned it on! The air-conditioner head was fitted to a piece of plywood and when it switched on it vibrated quite badly. The bed was quite comfortable and the curtains did a good job of keeping the room dark. The room was quite quiet which was surprising given how close it was to a relatively busy road. The service at reception was fine. I have stayed at this hotel many, many years ago and to be honest I don’t think it has changed much since then.
