This is beautiful Hotel located on beautiful location. Rooms are beautiful and walkable from the River, On the opposite street is a Grand Rapids one of the oldest building and it’s beautiful. There was a little miscommunication during our check-in. We were told that breakfast timing is from 7-10am but when we reached for breakfast at 9:10, they were already closing and cleaning restaurant. There were around 5-7 families who came after 9 for breakfast. But restaurant gave bread, fruits, butter, Jams, Coffee so we had breakfast. Other than everything was perfect.

We stayed here after a holiday party that was at the Courtyard Marriott. I have the Bonvoy app and checking in was a breeze and I love the keyless key - where your phone is the key. The room was on the 4th floor overlooking the parking ramp with a half view of the river. Since we are from GR, this didn't bother me, especially because we were not in the room except to sleep. Room is smaller than a normal hotel room but sufficient and nice, it was updated but still shows remnants of the old decor/ style. The bathroom is small, outdated and the shower is not well planned, you have to step into the shower to turn it on and you get blasted with cold water before you can move - multiple people said this that stayed there. However, the room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. We had no complaints for noise or the heat. Getting to our room was almost like going through a maze. The elevator was on the other side of the hotel from our room and we had to walk quite a ways to get there. Lobby is clean and bright, hotel has a bar / restaurant, parking on premise or next door, and close to everything downtown. I would recommend people to stay here, better price point than some of the more ritzy hotels.

The pool is tiny unlike the pictures. There were not enough towels in the room (said they would send up and never did) and amenities like shampoo were minuscule. Then we could not get into our room due to low battery. We waited in the hallway for 10 minutes after the front desk cleared this up until a very nice maintenance man fixed it up. Breakfast is not included. The hook on the bathroom door was broken and hanging by a thread. The air conditioner blasts directly onto your bed. The bathroom is very very small. There’s no Kleenex and insufficient toilet paper. I don’t usually hate on places but for what we paid - exceeding even prices in CA - it was sad. Two stars for nice shuttle service and nice service at the bar. Do not stay here if you can help it.

When I arrived to check in, I was told that my reservation had been changed to double Queen instead of the king suite I had wanted. The receptionist at the front was apologetic and offered a discount. I am rating this poor because I would have appreciated a phone call previous to this change. That would have given me the opportunity to cancel and find a different place. Also, when I asked to speak to the manager that told the receptionist to make the change, the manager didn’t work in the weekend. I took the discount and the room. Luckily, I am only spending one night. This is just a place to rest my head for tonight. I will remember this experience and not book a room through this hotel again. Obviously, reservations do not matter.

This hotel is in a good location and has been updated. The rooms are a decent size and very clean. So why the low review? The elevator is out. That doesn't bother me too much, but it didn't look like anything was being done about. And it leads to the next problem. I was getting three rooms, with one being a handicap accessible room. What floor did they put the accessible room on? The second. See note about not having an elevator above. They did eventually move this room to the first floor. The bathroom light in our room went out, and when I reported it to the front desk the worker looked at me with a look like, ”What do you want me to do about it?” She did inform me that no one would be in to fix things like this for three days. The breakfast was not very expansive or high quality. Which is fine, but they also ran out of half of the items on all three mornings we stayed. We ended up grabbing fast food breakfasts two of the days. Even with all this, I would stay here again if nothing else was available. But I would keep my expectations low and realize that it is a clean hotel with poor service and that I should make other plans for breakfast.

We were here for just one night with the kiddos. We were going to Michigan Adventure the next day and there weren't a ton of hotels cheaply priced, so we decided to stay in the Grand Rapids area. I wanted a place with a pool, and we were very happy with the pool area. Water was a bit cold, but it had a clean bathroom attached, towels just for the pool and a clean shower in the pool area. For a few kiddos that wanted to swim for a few hours, it was perfect. Oh and the pool was opened late too, which was great. Our kid are up late. It was open only for adults 11-midnight, so who knows what goes on in there from 11-midnight... but being open to 11 for kids helped make the evening much easier when trying to plan a dinner out too. The room was big. Two beds and a couch. Clean and ready when we arrived. I couldn't get the TV to work, it just seemed stuck on HDMI1 with no signal, but I wasn't planning on watching anything anyway. I was just poking around with it. I didn't call for help. Breakfast was good and most important... the breakfast area was very large. No fighting for tables. We slept well and it was exactly what we wanted.

GGuest UserWe booked this hotel because of its proximity to the airport and airport shuttle. We had a one-week trip planned, flying out of GRR. When I made the reservation, I called the hotel and asked about leaving a car while we were away, airport shuttle, etc. I was given information about the rates for parking in the hotel lot between stays and told that I would pay separately for that service when checking in - not in advance. When we arrived the evening before our flight, we were told that the hotel discontinues this service during the busier season and that they decided four days prior to discontinue parking passes. ”Francesca” who was at the front desk and described herself as the General Manager was unsympathetic, unwilling to honor what we were told, and unwilling to assist in locating alternative accommodation/parking. She admitted that we were the third or fourth people with the same issue. Certainly the hotel can change its parking policy, but it should give advance notice to customers who have already booked and are counting on that service. The biggest problem was the hostility of the staff toward any suggestion that the hotel had made a mistake.

GGuest UserMy spouse and I live only about 3 miles away from this hotel and were forced to spend a night here in December 2021 after a windstorm knocked out our power for a lengthy period of time. We drive by this hotel often, and I thought it was kinda fun to stay here and see what the interior was like. The circumstances that required us to stay here were not fun, but overall, we were fairly pleased with the hotel. We checked in sometime around 6:30 or 7 p.m. on a Thursday night. Our check-in process went relatively smoothly, and we used my husband's IHG reward points for our stay. Our room (#254) was clean and comfortable... no problems there. After we got settled into the hotel, we had a tasty dinner and a couple of alcoholic beverages at the bar. Kind of expensive, but whatever. This hotel has an indoor pool and fitness center... neither of which we used. Unfortunately, the indoor pool did not have a hot tub which we would have enjoyed. I can't speak to the breakfast options because we ended up eating breakfast elsewhere. One thing I was sort of disappointed about was the fact that this hotel did not have a business center with computers for guests to use. I would have appreciated a business center to surf the Internet, but one was not available. The only other thing I have to say about this hotel is that the bathroom setup in our room was a bit unusual... no problems with it; it was just different. The shower is in a tucked-away corner in the bathroom with no curtain or anything. I didn't have a problem with it; it was just interesting and different. Hopefully we won't have any other significant power outages that will require us to stay at a local hotel, but if it does happens again, we would have no qualms about staying here again.

GGuest UserIf there is one consistent complaint I have about many hotel rooms is that there are not enough electrical outlets (or they are poorly located) and that there is only one mirror - in the bathroom an often steamed up! I was astounded that City Flats had multiple outlets in both bathroom, sleeping areas (we have 2 CPAP machines) and the desk area. Great shower. Loved the untypical arrangement of the 2 full size beds - it was almost as there were 2 separate bedrooms. Hotel was super-quiet during our two night stay, Very short walk to VanAndel Arena as well as a multitude of restaurants & bars. The only negative we found was the parking deck around the corner and the difficulty of unloading luggage/checking in before parking car. Our view was an exposed brick wall, but in the end did not matter as it kept the room super dark allowing us to easily sleep in after a fun night in Grand Rapids!

GGuest UserI was very impressed with this hotel! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The lobby area was beautiful with tile and wood and a pretty gas fireplace. The bedrooms are so spacious and clean. And the bed was really comfortable. Overall we just loved our stay and would definitely recommend to others. The room rate was really great as well!

TTom POverall the facilty is good. As most motels, regular upkeep is needed and upgrading some equipment is required. The room use older heating/cooling units that can be difficult to set a comfortable room temperature. The room I'm staying in now, the low fan setting does not work while the heat is on. Many motels equal to this one has a better selection on TV channels. I'm not into sports or network news thus I am limited as to what I can watch, After a full day of driving, it would be nice to relax with some shows(channels) that I'm use to. A positive note is the evening desk clerk. I haven't stayed here for a few months, but as soon as I walked into the lobby, Beth the evening desk clerk, recongnized me and welcomed me by name. That adds a special touch to the end of a rough day. She is always pleasant and always has a smile. After being in my room for about 15 minutes, she called to see if the room wa ok. Hope she never leaves this facility as I feel she is a valuable asset!

DDr CushHotel was good for going to a concert. Pool and hot tub had decent hours. Only complaint was not having coffee or towels re-stocked in the room. The walls were also a bit thin; could hear conversations in the hallway clearly and didn’t feel there was much privacy to be had in the bathroom

Started off feeling like a scam paying a higher price on the right side of the counter under the wydham sign, than on the left side of the counter under Days Inn sign. The clerk was so freaked out about the ”situation” in the pool he could barely function and he was the only one there with a line of like 7 people. Finally got a room but who needs a room key when your door is already open. I didnt find a dead body in my room, just the stale smell of cigarettes wafting throughout the entire property. Or was that the mold smell, hard to pinpoint. Outrageously priced for what was offered. Divorcing Wyndham hotel stays after this one.
