The front desk wanted us to park in their parking structure, a block away, so they could get extra money for parking fees. They did NOT tell us that on the weekends, parking is free in downtown Grand Rapids. They were very kind, but not helpful.

I have stayed at some of the larger hotels in Grand Rapids. So I have a unique perspective for my following comments.By chance or luck I was able to find this hidden gem. It is a smaller boutique type hotel. I am not exergerating when I say that it feels like you are coming home to family. The hospitality is both warm and friendly. It starts at the front desk with Shalamar and follows thru with the rest of the personnel. The rooms are clean and perfect. Ask for a corner room. You will definitely like the views. Parking is free when validated at the front desk. After my stay here-------all the other hotels in G.R. are history.

The front desk staff was amazing; so friendly and helpful. We especially wanted to thank Shalamar and Deneen. Also, the breakfast area young lady attendant was friendly and very accommodating. It was nice to feel welcome every day during our stay at this property.

Our go-to for any event in Detroit. Beautiful rooms. Safe walking distance to everything. Just wish they had room service!
