In front of Higashi Hagi Station, the bus from Shin Yamaguchi stops at the station, so the location is good for those who go by Shinkansen. It is convenient because the bus which becomes the foot of the city sightseeing comes out of the station. However, there is nothing in front of the station. The air purifier is complete in the room, and there is a little book and wisdom ring, and it becomes free. There is a large bath in the room, although only the shower is in the room, and the number of people is limited in time so that it is not dense now in the corona pass, and it is troublesome, but it is not crowded, so it was able to enjoy it. There is a free drink service such as tea on each floor (both cold and warm) Breakfast was also followed, and it was very good because there was rice balls and miso soup. It is a mysterious system that there is no one at the front desk at check-out, but it may be easier because you can check out only by putting the key in the box.

First of all, when you arrive at the parking lot, you will meet you, but if you are lucky that there is no parking lot nearby, you will be guided to the place where you are empty. It's normal, but the person in charge runs in front of you and guides you (laughs) After check-in, the guide staff explains the facilities in the pipe to the elevator, pushes it to the destination floor, explains how to go to the room, and lowers your head and sees it. When you go back, the staff will line up and see you. Is there a hotel like this hospitality now? Moreover, the whole hotel is beautiful just renovated, the hot spring is comfortable, and the plan is sure to have breakfast, but the breakfast was also delicious and delicious. Really great hotel from what to what. However, if you only put on it, if you sit in the room to breathe, the door is knocked, and if you wait for your name, you can open it without permission, and the cleaning aunt has come, and the futon is there? It was confirmed in Tame. The staff who go out in front of the people are well educated, but there is no this to the back staff. I can't relax a little in a hotel that doesn't know when people come in. I was sorry that it would be a really perfect hotel if this was fixed. But overall I am satisfied

Style. Traditional hotel, a bit dated Setting. Japan countryside off the beaten path 2 hours from Fukuoka airport Explore. Motonosumi Inari Shrine. Akiyoshido cave. @ the hotel. Hotel first built 1881 on site of a hot spring discovered by a monk 600 years ago. Open air baths with high alkaline. Spa treatments. Hotel hosted a summit with Shinzo Abe and Putin in 2016. Rooms. Various room options, I chose a 900’ corner room surrounded by nature with a stunning view of the Otozure river on one side & the mountain on the other side. Room had tatami mats & futon beds. Bathroom came with a jacuzzi that you can just soak in while enjoying the views. Toilet room very dated with an ugly urinal in it. Food & drinks. Multiple dining options. I had kaiseki dinner which included wagyu, Yamaguchi seafood i.e. fugu blowfish, abalone etc at Zuiun, & breakfast at Unyu Prices. Good value at US$556 for room & meals to feed two, especially since back in Hong Kong, a kaiseki dinner will easily cost $350 per person Rating. 4/5

WOW! This was the first Ryokan Onsen that I stayed in and I was blown away by the lodging, the amazing staff, and the food. I say lodging because my ryokan has as much square footage as my home—a balcony, an outdoor onsen, shower and changing area, two separate toilet rooms, an open configurable area with kitchen, dining area, living room area, and sleeping area. They provided a yukata and a cloth purse that I wore for meals in the restaurant, and pajamas for relaxing in the accommodations. Every corner of the room and the ryokan was thoughtfully decorated—flower arrangements, ceramics, pictures, and so on. Happy hour each evening was a relaxing affair in the low-key bar area. Our tuxedo-clad host was efficient and friendly. Guests have a choice of ”American” or Japanese breakfast. I tried each. ”American” breakfast is much different from what we'd have in the USA, but you won't get the tasty Umeboshi plum or Japanese pickles provided with the Japanese breakfast. I found that both choices were far too much for me. On two days I opted instead to get a pastry from the bake shop and eat in my room. The kaiseki was fabulous. I was with a group (10 total) so we dined in our own room each night. Each night had a different menu. If you want to get an idea of what the experience was like, see the photos I posted for each of the kaiseki courses we had on the first night. Thanks to Head Chef Junichi Takeda for the wonderful meals and to Otani-san for being such a gracious and wonderful host.

My family and I visited for one night to sightsee and enjoy Yamaguchi/Yuda Onsen. Our room was big and the beds were comfortable. My children loved it. We used private onsen and it was very clean and nice. I used the women’s onsen and I loved the open air option. It was beautiful and well maintained. I’d recommend this place for anyone. Everything was so clean and the staff cared about us having an enjoyable stay. Thank you!

For the corona countermeasure, breakfast was corresponding to lunch box, but you can eat it in the room meal or breakfast venue. miso soup is instant and vegetables are small, but it is not possible to do it in this time. There were also microwave ovens, so I could warm my lunch box. The parking lot uses the paid parking next door. The price is charged every time you go in and out. I think it was ¥ 500 overnight. As others write, the bath costs 200 yen separately, but when you buy a ticket on a vending machine, you also have shampoo and body soap, and there is a hot spring that usually takes hot water tax. I think it is a range that can be allowed because even the foot bath in the city is paid. Also, if you return it to the front desk without using a toothbrush, you can get sweets.

It was a wonderful stay, and I have a wonderful memory. It was a wonderful stay, and I have a wonderful memory. I had a shochu ”Tominohousan” on the rocks. ■Appetizer■ ◎Steamed sesame tofu with bamboo shoots◎ This is sesame tofu made by steaming bamboo shoots with salt, stretching them, and putting black sesame paste on top of the sweet potato. The salted bean paste gives it a very elegant taste. ■Appetizer■ A garden that resembles autumn ◎The ”persimmon and white dressing” is of course delicious, but the acidity of the red pomegranate fruit neutralizes the sweetness of the persimmon and the white dressing◎ ◎The ”minoage” is not included in the photo. Thinly sliced potatoes, water chestnuts, carrots, etc. are wrapped in batter and fried, as if they were wearing a straw raincoat. It has a nice crispy texture◎ ◎The ”sweetfish and sansho” is not included in the photo. When you bite into it, you can feel the saltiness like butter, but the bitterness is not unpleasant ◎ ■Wan Variation (Clay Pot Steamed)■ In the clay pot, there are matsutake mushrooms, conger eel, shrimp, mitsuba, and sudachi citrus. The flavor was tightly condensed in the clay pot. When you put the conger eel dumplings in your mouth, they melt softer than the majo. This was the first and last time we had matsutake mushrooms this year. ■Sashimi■ ◎The marinated mackerel is perfectly salted ◎ ◎The taiyaki marbled sea bream has high-quality fat between the skin and the flesh, and this part is very delicious. By grilling it, it became slightly fragrant ◎ ◎The real tuna had a slight sourness unique to real tuna, which was impressive ◎ ■Boiled Food■ ◎Softly boiled Mutsumi pork with yam sauce, mustard, and chives ◎ The motoron pork is also deliciously boiled, but it is smooth because it is made by rubbing the yam, which has been painstakingly prepared, and then straining it. The pork mixed with sauce and mustard is the perfect marriage. I scooped up the sauce with a spoon and ate it all. ■Grilled dish■ ◎Grilled yellowtail with sauce and pear dressed in shaved ice◎ The shiny grilled yellowtail was coated with the sweet and spicy sauce. The grated daikon radish and pear served with it helped to soften the spiciness. ■Main dish■ ◎Yamaguchi Wagyu Kirameki Shabu-shabu with Mizuna and Sesame Sauce◎ This is a brand of Yamaguchi Wagyu beef. The marbled parts were delicate and the melting softness lingered on the palate forever. ■Ryuwan and pickles■ ◎Red soup stock with dried suguki, mitsuba and powdered sansho pepper◎ The red soup stock with miso soup and powdered sansho pepper was a perfect harmony. ■Fruit■ ◎Apple pie and pistachio ice cream◎ The hospitality of the staff from check-in to check-out was outstanding.

Had a nice kitchen (with dishes, toaster, nepresso machine, hot water kettle. Each room had a a/c-heater unit. Beds were comfortable. Washer and heat dryer - luxury in Japan, but much appreciated! Detergent provided as well as body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Close to Castle town walking distance as well as eateries. Would stay here again!

GGuest UserIt was a nice hotel with a good view and cleanliness in the sea side room. It was a really good location inn because you can walk near the castle town of Hagi. I didn't book a meal at night, so the front desk had a color 々 delicious shop I introduced you and responded very kindly. お Fenglu も Yuan くて Yuan Li でした. I went to the open-air bath early in the morning and it was a little cold. It was a very pleasant bath. I was surprised at the amount of breakfast I couldn't eat. It is a delicious and very satisfying inn that I want to go again. Thank you for your help.

Very Good
GGuide806074There were some good points and some bad points. However, to briefly summarize my personal impressions, ”Although the price is set to exceed 50,000 for two adults per night and two meals, the service as a whole is that of an ordinary inn, and almost all the staff are elderly people. Therefore, there are some parts that I can't understand, and the inn is confused between Japanese and Western. By all means, I only want to pay about 35,000 yen. However, all the staff are working hard. I understand that you can see that you have a desire to do your best. I will write from what I think is not good. ● The food is not good. The dinner is still barely acceptable (although it is far from the auberge), the breakfast is too bad. There is nothing complicated and it is not particularly delicious. The breakfast venue is like a forest school or a large tourist hotel in the old days, with all the tables lined up on a large floor, and of course there are no partitions. Also, 50,000. Keeping the above, I don't think there is ”drinks are self-service over there”. Furthermore, even if the information staff at the breakfast venue guides us to the wrong table, we just say ”OK, OK” and exchange the room number tag. What's more, the huge insect objects that run from the lobby to the breakfast room can't be helped. I don't like eating while being glared at by a giant mantis object. There is no feeling of the inn. ● There was a so-called welcome drink at check-in, which was already with tea, sweets and lodgings before we arrived at the table. There was no guide who said ”Please have tea” or ”Please fill in XX here”. It was strange to sit down, drink, eat, and write! Isn't it possible from the price of a luxury inn? I felt that. ● From the price of a luxury inn, I was surprised to hear that when I called ”Please give me the Wi-Fi router (run cable) written in the guide”, ”Please come to the front desk”. .. ● From the price of a luxury inn, you cannot use cheap plastic cups and trash cans for washbasins, liquid soaps on the market, and thin bath towels and face towels like those of Showa tourist inns. ● I asked for a big yukata on the phone in the room before meals, but it wasn't prepared even after I returned from the meal, so when I called the front desk again, I said, ”No,” ”I brought it,” ”No, no. ”I brought it!” After all, it was delivered saying ”I'm sorry”. The male staff looked like an old man who would have retired long ago, and the conversation was so difficult that he seemed rude and drunk. Considering the price of a luxury inn, it was absolutely unacceptable. ● As you can see in the old inns, the futon is very small and the mattress is thin underneath, so it was really hard to sleep, I felt sad, and my whole body hurt. I think it's unusual considering the price of a luxury inn. ● Meals do not suit the price. It was delicious, but it looked like a delicious hot spring inn. Also, for some reason, only one copy of the item was prepared for dinner for two people. ● I had a bad feeling when I saw the photos on the official website, but the impression of the website is quite too good. The composition of the photos, the condition of the light and the angle were too good, and I felt that there was a considerable difference from the actual building or room. ● The dining venue where jazz is played is somewhat uncomfortable, and there is almost no partition from other guests' tables, so I was skeptical from the price of a luxury inn. ● I was looking at the room information about Wi-Fi, but there are proviso such as ”We are not responsible for XX” or ”Please do XX at your own risk”. It was noticeable and I didn't feel very good. The good thing is ◎ The view from the room is good. The view of boats lined up along the river near the mouth of the river is unlike any other. ◎ I didn't think the semi-open-air bath on the terrace was as bad as others wrote. ◎ I am glad that the female staff at the dining venue worked hard to serve me.

GGuest UserRegarding the location, it is very convenient to go to the tourist attractions of Hagi in 10 minutes by car, and there is a free bicycle rental in the inn. Regarding the service, I am satisfied with the hospitality of a general inn. I went with an infant, but the floor of the restaurant venue was tatami mats, so I was allowed to sit on tatami mats during meals. Also, when I asked for hot water for milk preparation, he was willing to respond. The dinner was very large and the quality of the dishes was a large amount of cooking, but I was able to enjoy a lot of fugu dishes. Especially the fugu sashimi was delicious. Basically, I am satisfied, but if I give you a problem, the power of the dryer was very weak, so I thought it would be better to bring a long hair. Another point is that the passage to the restaurant hall is not barrier free but there is a staircase up and down.
