The room was in poor condition holes in the wall, water pressure was low so showering was difficult, the room was over the main entrance and where all the users of the pub congregated to smoke and make noise.Breakfast was average and not value for money and was not priced as advertised on booking web site one of our party requested no eggs due to allergy but when the breakfast arrived it had eggs on and the waitress was rude and felt there was an attitude and we had to justify why we was allergic to eggs standard practice is that question would be asked when ordering any food also we ordered brown brown toast and was given white bread we would rate the crown hotel stay as a poor experience and some staff seemed to have an attitude problem I would not rate this as a good experience and the price of £104.00 is extortionate for the privilege of my stay

My family booked this hotel, taking 5 rooms as we were attending a wedding locally. Although the rooms were ok, and the breakfast was good, when we returned from the wedding about 12.30 we had been locked out. A previous guest had put the latch down and we could not use the lobby key as directed. By sheer luck friends of the owners walked by and rang the owners- who had gone out themselves to a local pub. We were left outside for 30 mins after this call while they finished their drinks. Not impressed!

We were given Room 3 which must have the worst view ever. A huge extractor fan and rubble on the roof. So noise from that until the kitchen closed. Bedroom very very tired. We paid £104 for this very small room!! To be honest this room should be not let out with the eyesore outside the room.

Decided to eat here , will not be coming back !!! the chef does not seem to be able to read the menu and sends out luke warm food. Fish pie advertised with creamy cheesy mash topping came with a pastry lid and no potato's. Cajun Chicken burger advertised with iceberg lettice tomato and coleslaw but came smothered in a very strong sauce which was not on the description. Waitress said as for pie one chef puts a pastry top the other mash ?? Surely food should come out as described some people have food allergies.

I am feeling furious & very disgusted with The Crown in Hailsham, - on the 5th November, (51/2 weeks ago), I booked a table for 4 of us for a lunch for Friday 15th. (In 3 days time). I have just, today, 12th dec, received a phone call cancelling our table. They say they now have a booking for 18 people. I suspect they have accepted this larger booking since I made mine, and decided to cancel my booking so they can accommodate this bigger booking. Breach of Contract?

Underaged people working behind the bar 😱 terrible services and rudeness. Experience ruined at a bang average pub. Won’t be going back there anytime soon. This pub should be closed immediately……………..

We spent a couple of days here for a family wedding nearby and the whole place was spotless and the staff lovely - very helpful and friendly. Room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast excellent. We were above the bar which was a bit noisy but all was quiet again at closing time so wasn't a real problem. For the accommodation, food and amazing staff, we'd stay here again and recommend it. The parking however, whilst not the fault of the owners, did impact our stay. We chose The Crown as it had parking available, unfortunately, the parking wasn't obvious and was completely taken by the time we found it. We ended up parking in a 23 hour stay public car park meaning we were stressing over moving it in time, and finding somewhere else for the next 24+ hours. Thankfully we did find a spot in another 23 hour car park and then a spot in a 2 hour one until we left. If you have no car to worry about, it's excellent!
