Hotels near Robert Burns Statue, Halifax

The location is on the edge of the port, and there is a COWS ice cream shop 10 meters from the east gate. The clerk is professional. Breakfast is not included, it is a la carte system, but the price is actually acceptable between 17-24 Canadian dollars. The facilities include a swimming pool and a gym. The gym is very large. In the swimming pool, the old white man and the old lady are doing extravagant things, which is also drunk. The last hour of the swimming pool is adult only time, but there are still children in it after the time has passed. The security staff helped clean up in time. very good.

I booked 3 nights for my bf and I to spend some time in Halifax over reading week. It is a good location however, the first night we heard something going through the garbage in the bathroom but when we checked we didn’t see anything. The next day we saw a mouse run across the room. When we complained they said there’s mice everywhere. I would not stay after that.

I didn't pay too much attention to the location, because we went there just for pure sleep and left the next day. The cleanliness is OK, but the fly in the ointment is that the bathroom lights are very dim, which is not very good for the senses. For the service, I told the hotel my membership number in best wersern when I made the reservation. I thought the staff could notice it, but it didn't. In fact, the experience of staying in a star-rated hotel will not be too bad, the comparison is to pay attention to the details. Set up, because it was during the covid-19 period, the breakfast was allocated by the staff, there were not many varieties, but it was basically enough. There is no milk. There is no milk. There is no milk.

The location is not far from the city center, it is very convenient to go, the hotel facilities are very complete, the gym, the swimming pool are all, the room is big enough, there is a refrigerator, microwave oven, stronger than the hotel, parking is free, there is free breakfast, sausage, fried Eggs, bacon, bread, snacks, drinks, coffee, very good! There are many award-winning medals in the hall, and the service attitude is also very good. The key point is that the price is also cheap, highly recommended!

Well, I stayed at the Holiday Inn on John Savage for the week of March Break for Business travel. Frankly, I do not know how the staff maintained the premises so well. Sure with the place loaded with kids, there was a little child having fun noise but nothing that kept me from sleeping well, or a distraction from my work. Kudos to the Hotel team for dealing with the ”onslaught” on families so well.....remarkable job under extreme circumstances....(JOAN!!!!!) Funny, even during the amazingly hectic times, Joan and her team had left me a lovely note and welcoming treat. As a business traveler who stays in LOTS and LOTS of hotels...it really means a lot when you can come ”home” at night to a welcoming friendly and professional family. I can't applaud the team and amazing leadership at Holiday Inn on John Savage enough. As for me, and because of the awesome teamwork at Holiday Inn on John Savage, our Company (over 200 employees in 4 eastern Provinces) have selected Holiday Inn as our preferred ”away from home family”. I just left Holiday Inn Dieppe where we now hold all our manager's meetings and all managers stay there for the days of the meetings. It was all because of Michelle's and Joan's wonderful leadership and excellent customer service over the years I have been coming. Finally, on my way home, I had to overnight in Dartmouth due to flight restrictions just last night. Did I stay out by the Airport which was WAY more convenient? NO. I stayed with my family away from home in Dartmouth who, though I was only staying one quick night, still remembered me! Always with a note and a treat. Amazing customer service. So, Michelle, Joan, and the team..... thank You for making my business travels such a pleasant experience. Finally, for a business traveler who stays in many hotels all over Canada and primarily in Eastern Canada.....there are certainly lessons in customer service that can be gleaned from the John Savage Team........... This hotel was very clean and comfortable and the conference area was very well set up. The complimentary breakfast included with the room was delicious. The room was very spacious and the beds very comfortable. The staff was very courteous. I would definitely stay at this establishment again.

Friendly staff, excellent customer service. Stayed on 2 separate nights and rooms were clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was a bonus - would recommend the breakfast sandwiches. The hotel also offered nice touches like complimentary tea and coffee available 24/7 in the lobby and snacks for purchase. Parking was also very convenient.

Location is good. Convenience to airport is nice. I stayed in Room 351. This room (and ones like it) are hazardous. Immediately after entering this room there is a noticeable step down (and the room is not very large). Similarly there is a noticeable step up to the bathroom entrance AND to exit to the balacony. On my first attempt at going to the bathroom I tripped on the step and fell face first in to the wall. Definitely a horrid start to the stay. As a retired engineer I looked at the room and realized that the 'sunken' part of the room was not providing any value and could be easily removed. The floor could easily be built up so that there is one level common to the entrance, door to the bathroom and exit to the balcony. Nothing would be lost in terms of room usage and guest safety would be greatly improved. Shame on Ascend and Inn on the Lake for sacrificing guest safety. Despite having a very long day and being exhausted, the bed was not conducive to sleep. On the previous night I had spent at a Wyndham hotel and its bed was so comfy it was hard to wake up. Inn on the Lake provided uncomfortable sleep and as a result I did not sleep much. And finally, the breakfast. Choice Hotels advertises a Grab n Go Breakfast. Hmmmmmm. Cold muffin and cold yogurt is what equals a Grab n Go Breakfast. Not even any fruit offerings. I don't stay at the hotel for its free breakfast offering, but a muffin and yogurt is not a breakfast - no matter how it is advertised. I have stayed at Inn on the Lake previously and really enjoyed it. But that was a different room. After this last episode I will drive longer and stay somewhere safer.

I stayed at Quality Inn Airport in Halifax on feb 14th; we were told it would be busy in the am as my flight was at 0800. The next morning, I was ready by 0530 to take shuttle for 5:45 but when I got downstairs, there was already close to 50ppl waiting for shuttle service. I was clearly not gonna make it to airport with the 2hrs suggested time of arrival. Quality Inn staff knew how many people required shuttle to the airport that morning and only allowed max 9ppl onboard. We were not offered to take a 2nd shuttle of any kind. I decided to pick up my car from parking (which was about 1km walk) and take it to airport, which I then had to pay for 1wk parking. No managment on site, no taxi or other mode of transportation. My suggestion is: don't count on shuttle to take you to the airport on time; have a second plan or don t stay there because it 's cheaper with free parking.
