Pool and Fitness is just open for members. Closed for hotel guests. Next to that clean and friendly.

I was able to make a reservation at a very reasonable price. I booked a single room, but they upgraded it to a larger one. It was a wonderful trip.

The room facilities are complete, the sanitary conditions are very good, the hotel environment is elegant and unique, it is worthy of the Japanese emperor to stay in the hotel, the lobby service is meticulous and polite

Although it is an old building, I think it is well-cleaned. There is free parking right next to it, connected by a walkway, which is very convenient. Since it is a large hotel, it would be perfect if it had a large public bath.

Another overnight stay here when we travelled from Takayama earlier. Definitely a large hotel with nice atrium. The hotel rooms offer air conditioning, a refrigerator, and a desk with free wifi available. Guests have access to a 24 hour front desk, room service and in addition Grand Hotel Hamamatsu offers a pool and an on-site restaurant. I explored the buildings at night and found that there are some interesting shops at 2F, including the Hungary Consulate! The lifts are bubble-type and one get the see the external during transit. You get an old-fashioned key, and the ac does not seem to operate well. The windows were locked so not much view nor allowing the nice wind to circulate better. Breakfast is an absolute treat again – at 21F! While queuing to go into dining area one can take in the wide cityscape, simply wonderful. Meal comes with a selection of traditional Japanese foods plus Western options. Hearty food feats. Will recommend.

My dad has a saying "all fur coat and no knickers" which in essence is this hotel.... there is grandeur as you walk in to the lobby and main areas but that all changes as soon as you enter the rooms.... which i'm guessing were last updated circa 1880!! You get an old fashioned key - not the worst but you kind of can guess what is to come, the room was stifling, disgustingly hot, we had to go to the lobby to get any information about cooling (distantly there is one) it is simply a fan and there was no cool air, the windows were locked so no relief there either.... we ended up wetting towels to put over ourselves!!! the bed cover was immediately taken off it was heavy and old fashioned.... the beds were uncomfortable and you could feel the springs. the bathroom was just as hideous, a small capsule with a shower over the tub (a pet peeve of mine) and for a short person such as much it was not easy to navigate, the shower wasn't much better. every hotel we have stayed at in Japan provided water in the room and an air purifier - this offered neither. the breakfast was basic buffet and a free for all, i would not recommend this hotel and this it should be scrapped from the tour list

Hotel is a little out dated but it was nice and clean, views were great looking over the city, very found the beds to be very comfortable, the only thing we can really criticise about the hotel is the restaurant was closed and it was about a half hour walk to get to any decent restaurants, also balcony doors were locked which was a bit disappointing

The hotel is just a 20-minute walk from Hamamatsu Station, so it's a good idea to walk around during your stay. I was prepared for the facilities to be old, but the restaurants, gyms, and other facilities within the building were either closed or limited. I think it's best to check the hotel's facilities carefully before going. There are Family Mart, Lawson, and 7-Eleven within a 5-minute walk, so it was very convenient. The hotel service was average. It was a little noisy at night, but other than that there were no particular issues.

We stayed in a triple room. It really felt like a Showa-era luxury hotel. The good points were that the parking lot was right in front and free. The staff were polite. The room was spacious. It was cleaned well. It was on a hill and on a high floor, so the view was great. The breakfast was also very delicious, seasoned to my liking. The bad points were that it was a historic hotel, so it can't be helped, but the oldness was noticeable everywhere. There were coffee stains on the mattress. The tile grooves in the bathroom were full of mold. The drain was clogged, so water collected from the feet when taking a shower. Even with all the lights on, the whole room was dark. However, I think it was good value for money. It was just over 20,000 yen for three people with breakfast.

It seems they have fixed it now, but the discount information was unhelpful. Also, the breakfast was different from what was explained to me at the front desk the previous evening, which made me feel uncomfortable. As proof that I had not misheard, another guest also came at the breakfast time as instructed, but it was full of group guests and could not enter. Also, although it is true that the shuttle to the station must be booked "three days in advance," it was refused on the day, even though there was no one there. I hope they will relearn hospitality. Even though it is far from the station. It is quite old, but I was surprised that the room temperature adjustment was almost ineffective and the toilet was extremely loud. I feel hesitant to use it in the middle of the night.

I thought it was due to the influence of the new corona, but I stayed in a room with old-fashioned specifications. I felt that I could not keep up with the times. I hope that the surrounding environment will improve.
