Meininger Hotel Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof

My family and I stayed here for two nights. It is really value for money. 1. Location: It is not in central location. However, there is a tram station in front of the hotel. 2. Check-in & Check-out Since we arrived at around 8pm, the check-in was completed within 5 minutes. We just passed the keys at the reception during check-out. 3. Parking There is a paid-parking at the hotel. However, there are a few free parking spots in front of the hotel. Since it was full in front of the hotel, I parked in front of the B&B Hotel which is 10 minutes walking distance and it is free too. 4. Room The room is clean. Surprisingly, the room is air-conditioned. We did not expect this but it is really helpful during summer time now. 5. WiFi There is a free WiFi. However, the signal is not so strong at certain area of the room. 6. Foods There is an American foods restaurant in front of the hotel.

Heidelberg, a certain distance from the attractions is not particularly convenient. There is an underground parking lot, but the front desk is too unprofessional. You need to contact the contact information. The check-in time is delayed. The experience is not good.

Excellent location in the heart of the old town. Extremely pleasant and helpful receptionists and other staff. Very clean room. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was a bit ”strange” in that there was comparatively little food on display. Hot food was available but you had to ask for it. There was a traditional menu that wasn't much use if you don't speak German. The breakfast cost 19 euros which, in terms of value for money, wasn't good. After the first morning I ate breakfast in town. Regarding the room: it was difficult to open and close the curtains because they hung down a long way from a very high ceiling. Also, the main shower seemed to be hand-held only. Perhaps it wasn't, but that's how it appeared to me. I used the bath instead, which was very good. The room was generally quiet, but I was disturbed by people (students I assume) just walking along the street and talking. They certainly weren't rowdy.

Maintenance is underway near the railway station. In the past, the hotel had to cross a small bridge; The room is more spacious. Compared with the hotels in Frankfurt, the heating in the room is sufficient. The front desk of the hotel has bread and coffee every day, which can be taken for free. The croissants are delicious; The hotel breakfast is 10EUR/person, which is not suitable for the Chinese stomach and the variety is barren; there is a dining cart on the road in front of the hotel, and the roasted chicken legs are not bad, 2 euros apiece. Overall recommendation.
Heidelberg Marriott Hotel

Overall a very fine hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Good location if you are planning on traveling by train or FlixBus since you are very close to their stations. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and well operated. We also ate once for dinner ate at the hotel restaurant and the hamburgers and fries are exceptional. (We had young adults in our group.) The Executive Lounge has a great view of the river if you have access. One warning. If you need an accessible bathroom, this is NOT the place for you. The showers are old school in a high wall bath tub. The other caution is the location is not adjacent to the Old Town. You may need to use buses, trams, or Uber/taxicab.

The boss was very friendly, the staff unfortunately didn't speak dt. ! Breakfast in the 30 min window, actually I'm on holiday and maybe once had a little sleep and then cozy breakfast..... Very simple breakfast, nothing overwhelming, cheese and sauce from the pack and every day the the same; No ”warm” offer (will order mirror eggs, the ladies could not unfortunately have no German!), no ”fresh” things (salata, fresh/hot cheese etc); No toast, no bread no black bread! etc....... Only white breads or one with sunflower cores; faulty fruit, the most cruel coffee I have then ”every” drunk (instead of over hours on a hot plate, it has already wondered why all of them drink tea), Circularly under the roof were also extremely warm, no AC etc. , unfortunately very bright and noisy, in the bathroom was only a small shower gel, no shampoo, was not filled; walking to DB, however very far in the center
