I’ve stayed at this Courtyard before, and it was your average mid-budget Marriott property stay experience. This stay was kinda bad. But first, the positive aspects: - Short drive from the rental car center and airport - Convenjent location: in Henderson, but close to Vegas, *****, I-215/15, etc. - free parking - good staff, including Michelle at front desk - recently updated room, clean and comfortable; in line with newer Courtyards - Room A/C unit (floor-mounted) struggled with daytime heat (triple digits) but was still pretty cool (74°F) during the daytime heat and cooled a bit more (down to 70°F by early morning) during the night. Now, the bad parts: - A/C was off in all common areas, including lobby, bar/restaurant, elevator, and hallways. They’d rigged up two big flexible pipes to push cool air from a machine in a room off the lobby to cool that area, which at least made it feel a bit cooler. - The main (maybe sole working?) elevator was HOT, slow, and covered in construction cardboard. - My room was on the 3rd floor, and with no A/C in the hallway, it was hot (111°F daytime temp the day of my stay), which I think made it harder for the floor-mounted A/C to cool the room. - Mechanic checked the A/C unit in my room, which (as described above) wouldn’t fully cool the room during the day, but did so at night (if only b/c I had it on full fan and set to 69°F). - There was an odd persistent electrical burning smell in the hallway (and also slightly in my room, 331. All in all, a rather depressing and hot stay. I’m glad it was on points; I wouldn’t advise spending much money to stay here. The adjacent Residence Inn (RI) is much nicer, and the Vegas South/Airport RI is much nicer still (but usually much more expensive). -
