Villa Diktynna

Absolutely lovely quiet picturesque hotel (nicknamed the house of flowers) How this is only a 2 star is beyond me! Vengali is there at your service morning, noon and night, serving food and drinks amongst other jobs! Lovely clean family friendly hotel & friendly staff! It’s also in a great location with beaches near by and plenty of typical Cretian restaurants a short walk away! Would definitely go back

What a beautiful hotel. We had such a fantastic 10 days here. Room was great for us, as a family of 4. Watched the sunrise from the terrace each morning. Gorgeous flowers surrounding the hotel. The pool was ample size for our use. We booked the water park through our friend Vangellis. Who was helpful, we watched sports from the bar on site too. Thank you. We had hot snacks and there is plenty of gins to choose from too. I’d recommend the grace, picked by Vangellis himself. We will most definitely be back. My children had such a lovely time. We ate out at a lot of the close restaurants. The supermarket over the way makes fresh pan au chocolats and croissants, as well as baked breads. Koutouloufari is a beautiful village and I’d recommend the hotel.

Really lovely place to stay and close to bars and restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets. Rooms cleaned daily, thanks to the very cheerful Vera. Anna at reception was very helpful with a couple of issues we had. But the star of the show for us was Vangelis who runs the bar. He takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get to know his sense of humour, he is hilarious. Thanks Vangelis for making our stay even better.

Had a great 2 weeks holiday .Accommodation excellnt the lovely Vera and the cleaning staff were great ,Vangelis the best barman in the universe self proclaimed booked to return next year can't wait every one who stayed there were great company most relaxed holiday ever

Second time here and I still love this place. The scenery is lovely and the room quality is good for what you pay for. The staff are lovely and helpful and the location means that I wasn't far from the main town of hersonissos if I wanted to be in a busy place, but also I'm koutouloufari for when I wanted to walk around a picturesque small town and eat in cute local places.

This was our second time in Koutouloufari and first time staying at villa Diktynna. We stayed in a maisonette and it was beautiful. Lovely and clean, everything you need. The beds are comfy and we paid for the air con which was a life saver in the heat. The pool is small but perfectly sized for the accommodation and we were always able to get sun loungers but even if we hadn't I would have been happy to sit on our terrace and use the pool. Vangelis works very hard to keep everything running smoothly, he made us food when we arrived late on the first night and was always on hand to serve drinks or food in the pool bar. We'll definitely be back.

This is a lovely complex of 24 apartments set within the gorgeous village of Koutouloufari. We stayed in a maisonette overlooking the pool which was spotlessly clean and very spacious. There are ample cooking facilities but as Koutouloufari itself has an abundance of lovely restaurants, we didn't cook at all. The bed was very comfortable and the shower room a good size with a really good power shower with plenty of hot water. The complex itself is adorned with bougainvillia and is extremely pretty. There's also a bar on site and the owner, Vangelis, came to our rescue when we didn't arrive until midnight and made us a snack. He is very friendly and helpful to everyone. The two cleaners we met were absolutely lovely and worked so hard to keep the rooms looking spotless; sorry, I did not get their names but the lady we always saw first thing in the morning always had time for a chat. Koutouloufari itself is very pretty and the apartments are less than a 50 yard walk to the nearest restaurant, of which there are many - you'd need to be staying here a very long time to even sample a quarter of them - the ones we did go to however were all exceptional. The port of Hersonissos is a 20min walk down the hill from the village but it looked quite busy and a lot more commercialised than Koutouloufari which did not appeal to us. You can however walk to Old Hersonissos in about 1/2 an hour - which is beyond the village of Piskopiano which is basically an extension of Koutouloufari - and that is absolutely gorgeous, very quaint just like Koutouloufari. These are lovely apartments set in gorgeous surroundings and just right for a totally relaxing holiday. We travelled with Jet2 and we received faultless service from both the airline and the owners and staff of the apartments. Highly recommended.

Villa Diktynna is a beautiful, clean, well located base from which to explore Koutouloufari. The room was really spacious, with a lounge as you enter, down a few steps to the very well appointed kitchen, and upstairs to the bedroom. The split levels made the accommodation seem large. There was mesh outside the windows which enabled the windows to be opened without beasties getting inside. Mozzie machines were available (could have been left by previous guest) and the safe was free to use. Towels and sheets were great quality too. The terrace had trees and potted plants around. The bar was open from mid morning to late night, and Vangellis was always friendly, and the food is good too. The pool, though small, is suitable for the size of the hotel. There was a good mix of nationalities and everyone was friendly. Overall, we have stayed in Koutouloufari multiple times, staying at various hotels. This was our first visit to Villa Diktynna but I hope it won’t be our last.

Our 3rd. visit to Villa Diktyna and umpteenth visit to Koutouloufari. Everything about the holiday was fantastic and we will be back again in September and next year too. The hospitality you receive not only in Villa Diktyna but throughout the villages can not be bettered. We just love our little piece of paradise.
