I have stayed at many hotels across the world and I had heard good reviews about Extended Stay America and we wanted to be able to cook. On August 9th Extended Stay America was more like stay away. When we entered the hotel a man sat in a chair across from the reception desk yelling into his phone. One customer was in front of me waiting. On the desk was a sign that said "I am temporarily away please call 0000 on the courtesy phone". There was no courtesy phone and the person in front of me apparently had been waiting a long time. She got exasperated and left. I stepped up and tried calling the hotel itself once then twice. One person came out of the back room and said she was doing dishes. Meanwhile the man was still yelling into his phone that we could hardly hear her. His rudeness and lack of respect for others was only eclipsed by the fact that the receptionist accepted this behavior and said nothing to him. Obviously, she did not respect her guests anymore than he did. She checked us in and said she would be gone for the next 20 mins - no backup. We went to the room. The room was down the hall and we could still clearly hear the man yelling. The room had not been cleaned and was a bit of a mess. We ran back to catch her before she left. We had to call out for her and she came back to give us another room. The second room further down the hallway and yes we could still hear the man yelling into his phone. This one smelled like dirty feet and screamed out to be fumigated. We had to hunt down the receptionist by knocking on various doors and calling out to her. The third room which was the last available smelled like the second room, but not as bad. However, the neighbors were loudly arguing and the overall look of room was like a rundown tenement. We left and did not stay. We asked for a refund since we prepaid and yes the man was still yelling into his phone. He continued to do so as the we left. The refund we got was less than the overall cost. Do not go here.
