Hilton brand used to be my hotel of choice. After some very disappointing stays toward the end of Covid I decided I was switching to anything but Hilton. I should have stuck with my commitment. As the previous poster said our room ($350) was very small. The corridors were old and dingy. When I walked into the room I went to look out the window and there was a view of a rooftop, a large dumpster of trash and a delapidated building with graffiti. In fact there are several abandoned buildings surrounding the property so the area isnât great. They still donât have daily housekeeping. I have been in Hawaii for 10-days now and my other hotels all had daily cleaning and it was excellent. There is no excuse for Hilton to not being this service back. That is a key reason people like to stay at hotels vs VRBOs. Hilton is putting the savings in their own pocket as their rates havenât been adjust to reflect the significant reduction in service. Luckily we are only staying one night. The checkin was nice and the agent was friendly. The grounds (toward the water) were nice. I also agree with the other poster as I question why a resort fee at this property. If you get an ocean view room and donât mind the lack of maid service then you should be ok. Definitely donât stay in the odd numbered rooms in the ancillary building or you will view the ghetto.

The hotel is so beautiful, there is a large internal area, you need to drive from the iron gate for ten minutes, along the beautiful road, there are small wild boars on the road, next to the waterfall, there is a waterfall behind the hotel room, only for internal residents , You can swim and boat in the pond under the waterfall, and you can also participate in their rich activities such as climbing from the waterfall or visiting their farm. Breakfast is delicious. We did not have the opportunity to have dinner. It is said that it is their chefâs no-menu dinner. They use fresh ingredients from their own farm, which is a little regrettable. I highly recommend it. I will stay a few more days next time.

Hilo to me is an agreeably funky place and this accommodation is perfectly in line with that impression. It is set a bit away from the city's downtown, such as it is, in a residential area. The property itself must have once been a residence itself, and is divided into two parts, the original lodge and an annex across the street. We stayed our one night in the annex in a double room, which was equipped with its own bathroom, a microwave and lots of storage space, but no television--for that you had to access a common area, which also had a small kitchen. Definitely the place must have once been a house. The front desk is not open all hours and you have to time your arrival to accommodate this, but the staff member we met was extremely friendly and helpful. Arnott's also runs tours to various parts of the island that leave from the premises, one of which (up Mauna Kea to the observatories) we'd accessed several years prior. All in all Arnott's would probably not be your cup of tea if your idea of a Big Island vacation is the glamorous resorts on the Kona side, but for us the laid-back, peaceful atmosphere was perfect.

Top drawer experience at Mahana House Country Inn. Stayed at one of 3 cottages and found it impeccably finished and provided with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The view from the large lanai was amazing and was especially delightful at sunrise. The cottages feature an open plan with the bed and kitchen enjoying views out to the lanai and the ocean in the distance. The large Sleep Number bed with firmness individually adjustable for each side was so good we're now considering one for our home. The proprietor provided clear instructions on check in/out, usage and recommendations for shopping and dining. The location is great for a relaxing get-away, but shopping and dining are about 25 minutes away by car in Hilo. The expansive grounds include a large lawn and fruit orchard and a band of friendly cats who may stop by to say hello and troll for pets. No worries if you're not a cat person, they won't impose themselves. Laundry facilities, large communal living space and kitchen in the main building a short walk from the cottages.

FFloridasailor_11This 102 yr old home, now B&B, was the perfect experience. From meeting us at the car and carrying our bags in, to all the amenities, to the great menu choices for breakfast, the friendly tips on places to go, where to eat diner, it was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful wood paneled luxury. Tastefully decorated and furnished. Within 10 minute walk to downtown. Quiet. Plenty of parking. Literally perched over the ocean. No A/C wasnât a problemâŚthe ever present ocean breeze was all that was needed . The sound of waves gently breaking below our room led to blissful sleep. Highly recommend. Grab the largest room if availableâŚincludes a cozy nook for relaxing.

WWEIFor only one night, we booked a room with breakfast, breakfast has two packages to choose from, depending on personal preference. Hotel facilities are slightly old, and the room and bathroom are slightly cramped. The surrounding environment is OK.
