Location nearby jokulsarlon with reasonable price, free coffee and tea all time. I check-in at midnight with an envelop with all the details and key. They allow me to check out one hour later 12pm because we are late coming back from sunrise. Helpful and friendly staff, highly recommend.

Nice big room, beds are very good, pillow ok (soft). Shower etc. also clean and do not smell of sulfur. Good and very extensive breakfast. Restaurant is good and has tasty meals for a reasonable price. Service and staff friendly and helpful. Location is remote. Supermarket is far away. Diamond beach Is relatively close (30 minutes).

The location is convenient, but the room is small and next to the seaside. The price/performance ratio is very good. It is good to have hot tea at the front desk.

Very good value for money, free parking, and big rooms. Unfortunately, the smoke alarm suddenly started to sound without any warning at 4 a.m. when we were sleeping. It continued to sound for more than 20 minutes, waking up all the guests, and the hotel did not have any explanation.

Stopped here for a night to coincide with visiting Jokulsarlon and anticipated needing much more time to see that, Fjallsarlon and just generally drvie from where I was the night before. There’s a lot of new expansion going on, and I was in one of the newer units. Hotel highlights - Lady at the front desk when I checked in was awesome - I wish I'd remembered her name (older woman, we chatted about needing multiple pairs of glasses at our age) Quiet Rooms. I was in one of the newer cabins and there were a few things still under construction. For example, the deck was new, and there wasn't a really convenient way to step up onto it other than the sewer pipe or walking from an adjacent room. The lot's grade, and the presence of a travel trailer, made it easier just to park up front and bring what I needed in. The room itself was very quiet. It has a southern facing view, and there’s no cover for the front glass door, so it was pretty bright inside. Fortunately, I had an eye mask (having learnt a valuable lesson on a previous Iceland trip). The hot water heater was leaking (? or maybe there was an overflow that wasn't connected), for which they had placed a bucket underneath to catch drips . It was a problem when people were taking showers in the evening (bap bap bap), but after sunset it was only a couple of drips an hour. Food & drinks: Dinner was very good. Especially enjoyed the main entrée of vegan stuffed pepper. The sweet potato soup (of the day) was fantastic. Because it’s the only thing in the area, I did opt for the breakfast the next morning. It’s buffet style with a selection of oatmeal, regional meats, and cereal. The layout was a little challenging with toppings in a corner of a table wedged in a corner (and lids requiring three hands: one to hold your bowl, one to hold the lid and one to scoop toppings)

The room was spacious and dinner onsite was delicious! We had the artic char and the lamb. The staff was welcoming and the breakfast included. A nice spot to rest after a long day of hiking! Would stay again if I find myself on the ring road in the future

I liked several things about this "guesthouse": > Netflix is available on the TV ! > Very Hot Water is available from the sinks and showers; just give it time to warm up. > Robust WiFi signal in my room. > Decent sized dinner - I had the lamb, potatoes, diced veggies and red cabbage. The breakfast buffet was tasty, though they ran out of oatmeal and declined to make more.

I have experienced youth hostels and campsites that were better maintained. The furniture looks like it came from the bulky waste, the window had a crack in the glass, the paint on the frame had peeled off completely, there was a hole in a tile in the bathroom, the veneer on the bathroom door was peeling off, I could continue the list. The two nights I stayed there, I did not dare to take a shower, as the mould on the rubber seals was not inviting here either, and in the mini-bathroom, moreover, there was no ventilation whatsoever other than through the door (i.e. there was no ventilation system/fan or similar - hence the mould, I guess). We also ate there on the first evening - a mistake. Lovelessly prepared, overcooked and at best mediocre canteen level. The only time in my entire 14-day Ring Road trip that I did not eat well. The only plus: the thoroughly nice staff. Even though it is the only one among the guesthouses/hotels in Iceland we stayed in where the staff is apparently not used to food and drinks consumed on site being written on the room and paid for on departure. This caused a misunderstanding as they asked the tour operator if full board was also booked and told us, panicking, we should immediately call the operator. This caused unnecessary confusion, but was the least of the problems. Overall, I cannot recommend a stay here. And since the trip was a very expensive one (several thousand euros through a regular travel agency and not a cheap provider), such a mistake in booking the accommodation should not happen. Very disappointed.

Lovely little guesthouse ideally located on the south coast. We stayed as part of our two day SC tour and were pleasantly surprised. It was dark when we arrived but the view was spectacular in the morning of the mountains and sunrise over the coast. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable and was lovely and warm for a stormy February evening! The evening food was ok, limited choices but did cater for vegan diet. Breakfast was standard but good - bread, fruit/veg, meat, cheese, oatmeal. Enough to set you up for the day! Overall a great place to stop for one or two nights on the South Coast!

Our two day tour of the south coast of Iceland stayed here. Room was clean with an updated shower. TV only had streaming and you had to use your own account to watch. Dinner was great. Breakfast was included. Cold meats. Eggs. Oatmeal. Fruit. Great bread. Cheese. Lots of sightseeing nearby. Very friendly staff.

The guesthouse has very basic accommodations. The rooms are small & the bathroom shower was very small with no place to put shampoo, soap, etc. The furniture and pillows are old. The restaurant food was average and nothing of interest. The best part was the Icelandic horses in the field by the guesthouse.

We had dinner there once. The choices were limited. The food came out cold. The taste was good though. They mostly cater for own guests. Reservations are strongly recommended. No beer on tap. No bar at all. The interior is quite plane. It reminds me of a youth hostel without the young.

Great location and half way between larger town, by the sea and with a mountain backdrop. A great setting in a stunning country. Reasonable guesthouse but nothing special (apart from location) especially considering I paid £117 for a single room without food. A basic room. No TV and not many other facilities. Dinner and breakfast expensive.
