Excellent
SSammyStuartWe stayed for 1 lovely night. Friendly staff, they went above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Highly recommended. The room was fantastic attention to detail right down to the lovely bath towel and the pool towels. The room had everything you need and was very well equipped with Microwave plates and bowls to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Two lovely big chairs to sit in and unwind and lost of space in the room as well Very clean and the grounds and the pool were nice to spend the afternoon in.. We would give it 5 stars and will stay here again.
GGuest UserI regularly stay in Mildura and surrounds for work, and I have to say, the Chaffey is one of our favourites. The chef, kitchen staff and general dining experience is what makes booking here worthwhile. They could not have done more to make our couple of days there more pleasant. The food was outstanding, the gin even better and the conversation/banter second to none! I am not sure if there are new managers/owners this year but the cleanliness of the accommodation part of the Chaffey has dropped a little, hence not a five star- but it wouldn’t take much to bring it back to what it used to be. You can tell these guys are really trying to get back on their feet after Covid and I have no doubt they will get there. Some constructive feedback would be to pay a bit more attention to the outdoor spaces, cobwebs under chairs, clean the pool glass, general tidy up of the little veggie space etc.. In the rooms, the bathrooms are starting to show their age but in general they are a lot better than many other motel type accommodation! I look forward to seeing you all next month!
GGrahamWe stayed two nights. Even though we had booked a standard queen room, they gave us a family room on the ground floor because I had requested it due to a physical problem making climbing stairs difficult. I appreciated this. We discovered a bit of a problem with ants in the room. We had killed about a dozen of these when I reported it to management. They immediately sprayed around all the entry points, and provided a full can of insect spray. I'm glad to say we only found one any after that during the remainder of our stay. We appreciated the free continental breakfast, which had a reasonable variety of cereals, fruit toast as well as white and wholemeal, a range of fruit, yoghurt, and different types of milk, even soy! While there were some different types of tea available, we were disappointed that there was no coffee machine on which we could make even an espresso! Pod machines are not expensive, and far better than the disgusting instant sachets. We instead had to go out to a coffee shop. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom excellent, and had we wanted a swim, the pool and spa looked very inviting.
At first we weren’t sure about this property but we received a warm welcome and parked the car. Parking is to the side of the building and easy to negotiate. The room was great. Much larger than expected with a desk, table and chairs, a sofa and comfortable bed. Plenty of room to move about and the bathroom was a reasonable size too. Amenities included a microwave, toaster and kettle which are always welcome when you have been traveling for a bit. There is a supermarket close by if you need supplies. On arrival we thought the area might be a little noisy with a main road out front but this was not the case. WiFi was good and the room itself, well cleaned. Thank you to our host for the recommendation of the Gateway Tavern for dinner. The food was good. All in all a pleasant stay and great value for money.
We normally stay just out of Mildura at Buronga caravan park but on this occasion it was closed owing to previous flooding. So we decided to stay at the Central Motel right in the heart of Mildura and we are glad that we did. The rooms were spotlessly clean and quiet you could not hear the traffic in the main street. The Motel is very close to the RSL & Working Mans Club, a short stroll across the road for a lovely meal. The Motel location is fantastic as you could walk to the main shopping precinct easily. The swimming pool is spotless as are the surrounds, a credit to the new owners. The new owners can not do enough for you, they are absolutely fantastic. A special mention to Kylie who has worked here for over 15 years, we had a lovely chat which is not very common nowadays as everyone just gets on with their work and all you get is a hello, not with Kylie she is down to earth and a pleasure to chat with. Keep up the great work you are doing and we shall see you next time in Mildura. Cheers, Ian & Wendy (Horsham 3400.)
