Excellent
JJi around the worldOne of the best hostels we’ve ever been to! Located less than a 5min walk away from Sydney Central station, you can’t expect a better location than this especially if you’re traveling. There’s also a light rail station right in front of the door of the building.
About the hostel itself, it has everything you can possibly dream of: a bar, a restaurant, and even a pool! Alongside the usual commodities such as a laundry room, a kitchen, etc.
The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything is also really clean and welcoming; it doesn’t feel creepy at all (some cheap hostels sometimes do).
The room we stayed in was a 4-bed mixed dorm, it was so spacious, had a huge window, one locker per bed and even a small table and stall! One detail we absolutely loved was the curtains surrounding the beds that you can close for more privacy.
If we had to find a downside, it’d probably be that breakfast isn’t included (14 added AUD) but other than that, it’s a very convenient place that‘s a great value for money.
GGuest UserClean hostel with friendly staff. Rooms were spacious with large lockers for each occupant and personal plugs and bed side lights in a great position. Showers/toilets on each floor and I never had to wait to use them. Downside is that you can hear the music from their basement club even on the 6th floor until late into the night. Didn’t bother me as I was only there a few nights and I managed to get enough sleep. Kitchen is WAY too small for amount of guests in the hostel. The social events put on by the hostel were a good way to meet people as a solo female traveller.
GGuest UserIt's OK, it is passable, it does the job but is nothing special. It is in an excellent location, a few doors down from the Central station and opposite a tram stop that is highly convenient. It is a little shabby in places, cleanliness is OK. The internet did not work at all, it would never connect. Luckily I could use the free internet from the hostel next door, but only when in the room which was on that side of the building. Before arriving we wanted to change our dates and shorten our stay by one day, but they would not do it, they made us cancel our booking and make a new one, but they charged the new booking at a higher price as it was much closer to the arrival date. So, it worked out more expensive to stay for one day less.
For anyone like myself, who spent the 80's & 90's traveling around Australia, this motel offers a very familiar service. It's rare to find that these days and in less urban areas I miss it as this was a feature of domestic travel we've been loosing. From the biscuits with the kettle and milk in the fridge to the outdoor pool and parking, it's a nostalgic and comforting experience. That doesn't mean anything was dated or old/in need of work. Everything looked in good nick to me. Of particular note was the service. I had an appointment in the morning so I needed to arrive prior to official check-in time. Experience has tough me to book an extra night to ensure access to the room when I need it early like this and I did that here. On calling the motel to book direct and explain the situation (so they didn't think I was a no show and release the room) they gave me a very good rate for the extra night, knowing I wouldn't be using the room on that night but rather booking so I had early access the next morning. Really great experience.
TTerrenceHoeVery clean room with a big kingsize bed for me one tourist to sleep on is such a comfort in Sydney.
Love the tv and tv programs especially project on Channel 10.
The french lady in the office is helpful and will assist you in everything and the cleaners are also friendly to talk to.
Overall i like the place and is 10 mins to Kingscross station and just 15 mins walk to Royal Botanic Garden
Thank you Bayswater Boutique Lodge.

Very Good
GGuest UserI had previously read the comments before booking at the capsule hotel as I usually do to avoid disappointment of available amenities, staff etc… when checking in I found the location in the heart of the CBD perfect with food vendors straight across from the hotel and a 2 minute walk from the light rail that takes you straight to the main shopping district and the rocks for all your art and entertainment. Staff were very kind and approachable even the guard at the bottom floor bar exit door was friendly to me when exiting at night. I found noise never to be an issue in the pods, although I did wear headphones at night time to listen to music but the room is practically always quiet. I was worried about how the air flow would be in the pods and about the mattress comfort from previous reviews thinking I may have got a one way ticket to a hot box scenario but I found it to be very comfortable with great airflow, I had the air flow on 1-2 levels at different times of the day and they still had an option for a third stronger airflow that I found unnecessary. I loved coming back to the pod for some RNR between my busy schedule over the three days I stayed here, the mattress for me was so comfortable and reminded me of the tatami mats in Japanese culture that they sleep on so as a westerner it actually opened my perspective to understanding Japanese culture better. I found that the shared bathrooms were always clean and never to crowded at both night and day. The last thing I can comment about is the storage was a great size I like that they had a hanger in your card accessed locker to dry your towel out through the day and still stay seperate from my belongings. Overall as a solo female traveller I would highly recommend the capsule hotel Sydney. I have stayed at hostels in Sydney close by to this hotel but that extra privacy allowed me to not feel like I wanted to stay out all day till bedtime. This was a last minute trip and if I ever had to book another last minute stay in the city I will book here.

SstefffishAbsolutely terrible service. I booked this place before an early flight from Sydney the next morning and it was a last minute trip due to the rain storms in NSW that weekend. During a 5 hour train journey from Albion Park (that should actually take 1.5hrs) it became clear that we weren't going to make the midnight check in time, as landslides meant we had to take a bus replacement service. I tried multiple times to contact the hotel but to no avail and so I requested a free cancellation. I didn't get another response until nearly midnight on the day of the booking, by which point I had obviously booked another place to stay. The response said that I couldn't cancel for free as it was within 24 hours of booking. The response failed to address that I had requested to cancel within 15 minutes of booking and that I only cancelled on the basis that I wasn't going to be able to get there for their check in restrictions due to the adverse weather. Funnily enough it looks like we missed a treat with the amount of reviews that mention cockroaches crawling over the beds!! I've tried about 10 times since to contact this place and have had not one response regarding this. Truly dreadful service & such a shame that it's tainted our holiday experience. DO NOT GIVE THIS CORRUPT BUSINESS YOUR MONEY! F**k you Cambridge Lodge.
IIan MWe had an unfortunate time in October 2019 were our father had to have a quadrupal heart bypass. We looked at places to stay close to Liverpool hospital. We ended up staying at the El Toro at Liverpool. The Welcome we got was nothing but AAA class, the service we got in the pub and restaurant that is attached to the motel again AAA class. The meals that we had all fresh and beautiful. To name two of the staff although all staff were very friendly Jay and especially Cassie went rite out of their way to make sure that we were happy. Well done keep up the good work. Cheers. GGuest UserAlways a great place to stay. I have stayed here many times over the years. It’s my main go to place in the shire and will continue to be so. Rooms are good, linen crisp and clean, service spot on.
Very happy and pleased to recommend the Cronulla Motor Inn to anyone. Thanks all.
