Ibusuki Hotels with Bars

I write this in the midst of the great pandemic of 2019-2022 ? I was fortunate enough to squeeze through the stringent Covid protocols to enter Japan for a brief period of time during December of the year 2021. I had always wanted to see Southern Kyushu, and so we were looking for a centrally located place on the southern peninsula. The Iwasaki Hotel looked fantastic on the brochures and website but was at a much lower price point than the more opulent Ibusuki Hakusuikan. We booked a triple room on the 5th floor of this curvy retro futuristic behemoth and settled in to its aging but comfortable rooms. Looking more like a hotel befitting the coast of Kā‘anapali, there is definitely a Hawaiian vibe to the meticulous tropical landscaping and room appointments. Devoid of tourists, the emptiness of this vast hotel was a little spooky. In its heyday one could imagine hordes of happy Japanese vacationers taking in the endless venues for activities like black sand “bathing” golfing, huge natural looking pools surrounded by tropical foliage and a HUGE arcade of noisy, brilliantly lit games of every sort and color. There is a virtual shopping mall in the basement with locally produced omiage and clothing shops to suit any taste in fashion. There is even a full sized bowling alley ! The weird part was that despite every shop being fully staffed, there were absolutely no customers. Each time we would walk by, the staff looked eager even if we took a passing interest in their wares. I almost felt sorry that I couldn’t load up my suitcase with useless trinkets just to give them a sale. The vast dining room was beautiful. With a extensive wall of windows facing the sea, the views were spectacular and the staff very attentive to our every need. We had a very nice yaki niku dinner with a wide assortment of Kobe beef and seafood. The Kirin Ichiban was icy cold. Sure this place is showing it’s age. I’m not sure how long they will be able to stay in existence without a serious influx of money and tourists, but it was a very interesting time capsule of Japan’s opulent heyday of excess. It’s definitely worth a stay unless you’re fearful of long dark hallways of empty rooms, rusting spiral staircases, and spookily silent bowling alleys. PLEASE go visit this place. The grounds are gorgeous, the staff are attentive and the rooms are clean with beautiful views toward the sea. This place won’t be around for long unless YOU come to visit !

I chose this place on my first trip to Kagoshima ibusuki. ● Hotel Room Hotel site is vast. The hotel itself is also a hotel, but the parking lot is quite large. Is there a golf course? It is a good hotel for group reception. In fact, when I stayed, there was a paper like a rental because some school excursion students stayed. The hotel is built to see all the sea, so you can see the sea and the tall southern tree from the window, and the ibusuki makurazaki line running along the sea if you look down. I felt strange because I was not familiar with the contrast between the train running along the sea and the palm tree. It was October when I stayed, but the weather was bad and the sea was rough ｡ I felt very sorry to think that I could see a great view from the room if the weather was good. The room was a Japanese room, but the tatami mats are old and old. The door of the room, the bath and the toilet were cleaned neatly, and the feeling of Showa was pump. ● Meal The dining hall was a large hall in the morning and evening ｡ It was very easy because it was a low seater who was gentle to a bad foot. I think dinner is quite stiff because there are various local dishes in Kagoshima. I drank hot potato shochu for the first time here and stayed for a while. The staff of the delivery staff explained the dishes with a unique intonation in Kagoshima, so ah, I came to Kagoshima. ｡ Is all the delivery staff local? It gives you a good customer service. ● Bathroom How many meters walk from the room to the public bath? It is far away. The public bath is very large. The dressing room and bath were ｡ the open-air bath was also surrounded by trees in the south with rocks, so it was a botanical garden like a jungle bath. It was raining, but the open-air bath was cold even in October in southern countries. There was a sand steaming bath facility in the back of the open-air bath. I didn't do it at the hotel because I had a sand steaming bath outside the hotel, but it seems that you can experience a sand steaming bath in the hotel. I was able to stay cheap and the dishes were delicious, but I was worried about the oldness of the room. In me, it is an image of a hotel a long time ago on the remote island of Nankoku. The evaluation is about ☆3.3.

Last time we had a sand steamed kaiseki meal and an open-air bath in the room, but this time we didn't have one, but this time we enjoyed the Tenku no Yu and were satisfied. There is a sky hot spring on the roof, and there are two large and small baths, both of which are warm, probably because it is an open-air bath. When you soak in the bathtub, you become one with Kinko Bay. The room may have been renovated during the coronavirus, but before, it looked like an old hot spring inn, but this time the room was clean and the image completely changed. For some reason, I felt good, but I only received one key, so I feel like I need to improve. The dining room is a private room, and it feels larger than the last time I used it, perhaps too spacious for two people? That's what it felt like. Hot springs are passed to the table, and guests can make hot spring eggs and boil vegetables. They also fried fish cakes right in front of you. (Employees will do it for you) Is it like keeping something hot while it's still hot? As was the case last time, this is GOOD! The difference from last time (before the coronavirus) is that the employees are younger, and their attire has changed from Japanese to Western clothes. However, the customer service remains the same. In addition, the garden was decorated with elaborate lighting at night, and coffee was available for free at the rest area at the entrance to the garden. There are about 10 parking spaces on the hotel grounds, and there seem to be others, but if you want to park on the hotel grounds, arrive early.

I have stayed multiple times. The deterioration of the facility cannot be denied, but overall the evaluation is not bad and can be repeated. The first thing to write about bad things is that the location from Ibusuki Station or the center is not very outstanding, and it seems that you are not motivated to pick up and drop off at the station, so if you don't use a rental car, You will use a bus stop called Ibusuki Medical Center. The bus will be delayed by 々 5 − 10 minutes, so be careful when going to the airport. A taxi to Ibusuki Station costs around 1,200 yen. Hotel transfer is only a round-trip transfer to the sand bath hall in the evening time zone. Certainly, if a customer uses a taxi as it is, the local economy may be saved, but what about a hotel that aims for the top? I think. However, thanks to this location, I think it is valuable to be able to see the sunrise and sunset. Also Kaimondake! The food was delicious. I think it's a satisfying meal. I stayed for 2 nights, but I'm glad I had a lot of vegetables on the first day. I don't like meat, but he responded to fish, but at the second breakfast, I was served ham and closed. Ham is the most healthy food you should not eat from the viewpoint of additives. .. .. The bath is not large, but I think it feels good. Dan 々 The room rate at this hotel is rising, so you may think it's about time that the bath is not worth the price. The open air is shallow. There aren't many customers yet, so if you choose the time, it may be reserved. The uncle who managed the bath was a serious and very good person. The room is ok. I have replaced and put the unit bath, but maybe because I haven't replaced the filter that is in the toilet, the unit bath smells a little. Also, the sound of the ventilation fan (it seems that it is putting a separate Toshiba .. ..) is noisy and you have to turn it off when you sleep. Also, the lights are completely white, so there is no elegance. The bed was comfortable. The sheets are also high-quality cotton. You can make a room with one king, but all Western-style rooms have two beds. If it's the size here, some people think it's smaller than the bed in the house, so if you raise the price any more, it's not worth it. I want you to put a bigger bed, to be clear. You don't want to sleep in a cramped feeling than at home. It has a balcony and is pretty good. The scenery is really good on the sea side. I just really see that it's old. Isn't it good to take a little more care? Overall the hardware is quite old. The employees seem to be working calmly and feel good. I think they're somehow covering it there. When I came about a year ago, there were foreign employees who were vague, but both foreigners and Japanese employees who had some felt very good. And you can make counter space and outlets on the lobby floor for work and stay while working. However, I don't think much about people who stay overnight, and I don't take a bath during the day, so I feel a little lost overnight. Also, the outlet in the room is quite slow to charge even if you use a 90w charger. It's stress. I stayed in a Japanese-style room before, but it was the same.

We came to experience the hot sand bath they have here. The hotel was terrific, we were on the top floor in a huge room with a full room length window looking at the ocean, it was quite stunning. Two huge beds and lovely lounge chairs to sit and take in the view, it was nice to see ships going by. Wifi worked well, we had dinner and breakfast in a dining room also looking out at the ocean, it was smorgasbord style, eat as much as you want, the food was lovely and fresh all very tasty. The main reason for the trip here was to experience the hot sand bath, this was a first for us. Basically they give you special clothes to wear , dig a hole in the sand, lay you in it then cover you with the Hot sand, only your face is exposed. Quite hot, very relaxing and comfortable, the longer you stay there the hotter you become, 15 minutes is the recommended time, we did a few minutes more it was Soo nice. It was a long way to go for the experience but well worth it, if you get a chance do it. The whole package at this hotel was lovely. Highly Recommend
