As such reading the reviews here I am glad I was not the only one stupid enough to pre-authorise the £50 ”deposit” and then be told that it was actually charged to my card rather than pre-authorised. First of all, when we arrived, we were faced with a receptionist in training. his colleague promptly apologised for his trainees lack of communication and interpersonal skills to which he said he was a staff in training. Me and my wife understood this and exercised patience even after a long tiring day where we just want to rest and sleep. He struggled to explain to us the house rules, and have even just resulted to pointing at things and mumbling to himself. He's in training. we didn't mind at the time. Then come the deposit part. He was asked to take it from us, I questioned if it was a charge or only pre-authorisation, I was assured it was only pre-authorised and will be released upon checkout. So I went ahead. I have pictures of the room, ripped carpets, torn curtains, chipped wall and battered wall fixings. But I am writing this on PC and I have it on my phone I can't include it. So i will leave this as is. Come next morning, upon checkout, we were greeted by a very 'happy to be there' receptionist giving us the bad news that because it was a trainee that greeted us last night, he 'accidentally' charged us instead of pre-authorising the deposit. I questioned it and was assured that it will be returned once the 'accounts department' is in on the Monday. (We stayed Saturday night to Sunday morning). I being as trusting as I am took this at face value. It has now been 18 days since our stay. And after sending an email as advised, and 3 phone calls to follow up, my number is now blocked. I know this because I ring with my mobile and line is busy. I ring with 2 other mobile numbers and it goes through and picked up immediately. From the 3 follow up phone call i was given numerous excuses although 3 were repeated almost like it is a script. 1.) I will forward this to my manager when he is next in as he is off today 2.) I will pass this onto our accounts department as they are not here today 3.) Send us an email as this will speed up the process So bottom-line is that I will run out of superlatives describing how much I would suggest to avoid this place. If I had known I would pay 100+ i would have gone to a better more respected establishment. Don't make the same mistake as I not reading reviews.
